Here's an idea: multiple leaders could lead the same civ. If you for example choose France in the modern eara but Napoleon is in the game he might also choose France as well. If two players end up with the same civ they will start the era in a civil war representing that the two leaders have different ideas on how to lead that civ.
Honestly the real problem is that if they want to move away from playing a historical civ in favor of realism, they should just drop all of it and let you pick from all the bonuses and design your own civ as you play.
Thank you for listening to feedback, and implementing the changes The support of the developer and my love for the game is why this game is last series i still support and play from 2 decades ago.
Good stream, still hoping at some point y'all touch on either expanded ages or a 4th age because it did look rather awkward watching French Napoleonic infantry fighting off tanks and WW1 German infantry. I've been very curious about the multiplayer! I've never really played a Civ game... maybe the first one in the 90s. After watching this, I am still confused. Are you fighting other players in real time or is it turn based? If you see units approaching can you move at the same time and engage? I used to wreck people in Age of Empires 2 but that was real time strategy with fast paced micro managing. Is Civ 7 RTS or Turn Based? Or both?
@@dirtybaker Traditionally in civ games, combat can be either turn based (player one gets their attacks + actions in, then player two, player three ect) and this is how single player works. But multiplayer has an option where it is still turned based, but the turns are happening at the same time (player one, two, and three are all taking their actions at the same time. Like settling cities, queing up production, or in wars, attacking each other. For wars specifically, you want to use your ranged units to attack first and focus down enemy units before they can attack back). However, one the unit has used their actions (moving, attacking ect) they cannot use an action again until the next turn. So Civ is a turned based strategy game

I don't like the way score victory is implemented here. In my eyes, score victory is more of a failsafe than an actual victory condition. Any good player should be able to get a victory before the deadline. To actually win with it is inherently unsatisfying and upends the final scramble of a typical endgame. Additionally, the existence of score victory creates bizarre incentives. Anyone actually going for a standard victory is incentivized to limit their legacy points just to stall it out which, given the method by which they are achieved, requires kneecapping one's own development. At minimum the age progress in the modern age should be nerfed compared to other ages.
It's s shame that you simply CANNOT play with friends online due to the obscene amount of desyncs you get throughout the multiplayer campaign, Unfortunately it's just not worth buying CIV at this point because after Civ5 and Civ6 I am already aware about the amount of suffering and wasted time I'm going to face with all the desyncs we always had.,

England should be in the exploration age, don't know about Prussia however.. This is kinda the problem since the modern age kinda rushes right on through the Enlightenment/Victorian era to get to the World Wars.
Germany as it existed before the end of WWII was basically dominated by Prussia anyway, so to an extent this is actually more reflective of what happened in reality: Prussia “conquering” the rest of Germany (there’s a reason why, after the Allies won, they abolished the state of Prussia itself).
