Beautiful Sharon. I loved Pete Shelley. if you ever met him over a pint you and your dad would feel the same way. And back in the 70s I NEVER knew he was gay!
I've been listening to music for a long time. This has to be one of the most beautiful pieces in that time...at least for me. First encountered it in Donal Lunny Journey. Must be the same wonderful musician in Coolfin. Perhaps the Donal Lunny solo album too. In part because of this song, the two disc CD of Journey is one of my fav albums. Now to see how this gorgeous music is played by such talented human beings is such a joy. The violinist is superb and beautiful and the band as good as it gets for Celtic rock jazz loveliness. Thanks to the original poster.
I never get tired of this video, this song ....you just get the real feel of the emotions that they have as they play their instruments..so great....... and the music has so many influences in it.....U2's guitar player adds a particular dimension that only he can offer....it is quite other worldly.
Just saw Donal with Moving Hearts at the National Concert Hall, Dublin (7/10/19). They levitated the audience. I can imagine The Edge adding Sleagh Maith to the current ensemble. As he does with Donal and this group from, what? 2010? -Doug Pratt, Atlanta, Georgia, USA (former Mancunian)
Not the edges best look or work once he hit 30 and achtung baby got released he became the edge . A cool enigma that is still getting better each year . In the 80 s edge wasnt as cool more quiet . Donal looney is a great musician too
Fantastic track , first heard it years ago , sounds great today . Timeless , Donal Lunny the architect of great Irish music , genius.
100%

9/8 slip jig over 2bars ;)

9/8. The rhythm is a two bar cell with variations. Drop the 1, arrive early by a quaver, mark the bar with bass slap, and you got it! Dorian Aminor
way past wow...
