Thank you! I try to be as real as possible, because every job I have attempted takes way longer than anticipated hahaha. I hope I never have to remove that airbox again :')
Nice, honest video. 2 questions: why was the oil filter housing leaking? When you got the cap open with a butter knife, are the tabs facing the engine? Obviously it would be a nightmare to get the cap off if the tabs would be on the other side as well.
thank you! The leak is a common issue on this engine, from what i’ve seen jt happens over time to nearly all of them. It has to do with that diaphragm itself going bad as well. Honestly, I don’t remember about the tabs position but it was TOUGH to remove.
Fyi the airbox slides out really easy if u move it up and to the right. No need to take off the ecu. Once you do it once it’ll take u 15 minutes tops👍 i highly recommend getting some better tools for mechanic work will make ur life so much easier! Great thing about these cars is theyre nothing special so super easy to work on. 10 hours is way too long for someone that knows what there doing. That being said glad to see you stepping up to try to tackle the problem instead of taking it to a shop. Just make sure to do things right the first time and you’ll learn a ton along the way!
I agree, having the right tools makes a world of difference, but I am glad I was able to work with what I had given my limited experience and tools. I am sure that if I have to remove it again it would be much faster now that I have done it before! Nice C30 btw😎
I have cracked the code - 30 minute RUclips tutorial = 10 Hours in real life. All you gotta do to find the average dummy time is multiply the RUclips video length by 20 😂
Good job - enjoyed the keeping it real aspect of the repair - that air box can be stubborn.

Is this for a 2009?
Yup!
Screw that air box. Literally the biggest pain in the ass to get. Luckily I didn’t have to put it back in because I was installing my intake😂
I want an intake now just for that reason😂
