Some of us, regardless of how secure and loving the relationship is, feel incredibly vulnerable in love and time and trust and having your partner prove themselves is how you become more trusting and secure in yourself and in love. On the contrary I think the redheaded woman is very much full of love for her partner, she reassures her, she doesn't mock her partner's insecurities, she is patient and while she is perhaps not as expressive - not everyone is. Also she answers right off the bat while her partner tends to pause more often as if to collect her thoughts - they are just different people. There are nuances in this relationship which we will never see nor understand but I don't think this is a toxic relationship, it is just a very brief insight into two people negotiating a new territory and I think this is a lovely video. Wow, they remind me of my partner and myself so much. The brunette is a lesbian and the redhead is bisexual, I believe. As a bisexual, I hid it for so long out of fear. I had a boyfriend when I met my partner and she thought I was straight because I kept my attraction to women a secret at that time. My boyfriend and I had a messy breakup and she was there through it all as my best friend. I was able to keep my attraction to other women a secret, but I fell so hard for my partner that I eventually had to admit to my bisexuality, even if I wasn't comfortable yet. My partner, who is a lesbian, also had moments of insecurity, thinking she might not be enough because she wasn't a man, and we had many talks about that. It's been 8 years now and we have gone through so much together, have been nothing but honest about everything, and are closer than we could ever be. No more insecurities or doubts. I can see these two reaching that same place someday.

We had so many ups and downs during our first couple of years because we discovered our sexualities with each other. I was insecure about us as I was the first girl she fell in love with and I was not sure if I was enough for her or not. I know Alyx has done a lot of reaching and prying for her baby just like I have for mine. When you have someone who just isn't as ready as you are, you take that upon yourself to remedy. Even if you try to give them space, when they leave that Reserved seat you had for them, even for a second, you FEEL that vacancy. It can be a real learning curve to aim for someone who's less experienced in introspection, who's sexuality or trauma or identity is still challenging them to the point that they may not be equipped to jump into the sunset with you just yet. It's extra confusing if they love you with all they've got but still can't make it to the milestones you're so ready to share with them. It can be so hard to wait, especially when it feels like letting go. It can be so hard to let go when it feels like waiting. But the whole while you learn so much about yourself because you've got your thinking cap permanently on trying to make this work. And still somehow you can lose yourself to this hyperfocused reality. Sometimes all of that can lead to so many wounds. Then you have to work on healing on top of everything else. For me, I often wish I'd just let her go before it got so messy and kept a window open for her to climb through someday when she was ready. Instead she's finally coming around after years and parts of my heart are definitely closed off for now. I have so many scars. In my own time I fear I'm all used up, just as soon as she started coming through. We could cry about it endlessly. What a mess.

These two seem like they're able to acknowledge their shortcomings as individuals and a couple, and they said so many times that they feel safe and happy with each other. Georgia seems to have had some tricky experiences with relationships in the past, but I can see that they're willing to work for this and each other. Idk maybe I'm looking through rose-colored glasses, but I'm hopeful for them, especially after they had such an important conversation like this.

On the contrary I think the redheaded woman is very much full of love for her partner, she reassures her, she doesn't mock her partner's insecurities, she is patient and while she is perhaps not as expressive - not everyone is. Also she answers right off the bat while her partner tends to pause more often as if to collect her thoughts - they are just different people. There are nuances in this relationship which we will never see nor understand but I don't think this is a toxic relationship, it is just a very brief insight into two people negotiating a new territory and I think this is a lovely video. Just my opinion. :)

Wow, they remind me of my partner and myself so much. The brunette is a lesbian and the redhead is bisexual, I believe. As a bisexual, I hid it for so long out of fear. I had a boyfriend when I met my partner and she thought I was straight because I kept my attraction to women a secret at that time. My boyfriend and I had a messy breakup and she was there through it all as my best friend. I was able to keep my attraction to other women a secret, but I fell so hard for my partner that I eventually had to admit to my bisexuality, even if I wasn't comfortable yet. My partner, who is a lesbian, also had moments of insecurity, thinking she might not be enough because she wasn't a man, and we had many talks about that. It's been 8 years now and we have gone through so much together, have been nothing but honest about everything, and are closer than we could ever be. No more insecurities or doubts. I can see these two reaching that same place someday.

There is so much in this video and your comment that I can relate to. My girlfriend is bi and I'm a lesbian. We had so many ups and downs during our first couple of years because we discovered our sexualities with each other. I think Georgia looks at her with tenderness too. This is a very vulnerable situation, maybe she was nervous! Maybe she isn't 100% comfortable with her sexuality yet. She could even love more intensely than Alyx loves her. She even thinks it's ridiculous that Alyx thinks she could hurt her again. She works on pulling down her walls! That shows an intent to make the relationship work.
I think I've been in a similar situation but I was "the Alyx" 😔. Yeah didn't end well and I put allll of my heart on my sleeve, only to have my love sopped up then left high and dry.

It's funny because I interpret the redhead as actually being more emotional, just very guarded and perhaps scared. Especially given how she was hurt in her previous relationships. It wouldn't surprise me if she had her own insecurities about not being enough.

I totally relate to the red haired girl. Naked displays of affection are really hard for me which is why I tend to show my affection through action rather than words. I know Alyx has done a lot of reaching and prying for her baby just like I have for mine. When you have someone who just isn't as ready as you are, you take that upon yourself to remedy. Even if you try to give them space, when they leave that Reserved seat you had for them, even for a second, you FEEL that vacancy. It can be a real learning curve to aim for someone who's less experienced in introspection, who's sexuality or trauma or identity is still challenging them to the point that they may not be equipped to jump into the sunset with you just yet. It's extra confusing if they love you with all they've got but still can't make it to the milestones you're so ready to share with them. It can be so hard to wait, especially when it feels like letting go. It can be so hard to let go when it feels like waiting. But the whole while you learn so much about yourself because you've got your thinking cap permanently on trying to make this work. And still somehow you can lose yourself to this hyperfocused reality. Sometimes all of that can lead to so many wounds. Then you have to work on healing on top of everything else. For me, I often wish I'd just let her go before it got so messy and kept a window open for her to climb through someday when she was ready. Instead she's finally coming around after years and parts of my heart are definitely closed off for now. I have so many scars. In my own time I fear I'm all used up, just as soon as she started coming through. We could cry about it endlessly. What a mess.

This resonated with me, though I think luckily it's not as heavy with me. I'm currently dating a girl, who never considered liking girls before I asked her. It's been surprisingly easily. And fast but then again slow at the same time. It's going so much better then I could have hoped but because of that it more unexpected when there are some setbacks. I know from experience that it's not a linear journey, so I'm trying to not worry to much when there's downs and doubts again.

(If my better half stated "the feeling of not being enough" I would not hesitate even for a second to take her hand even before she finished the statement and hold her close, look her in the eyes and say "YOU are way more than enough for the both of us" to let her know she is loved and that I am fully vested.)

Yes Alyx is deeper in than Georgia at the moment, but Georgia said that she suppressed her feelings for Alyx for a WHILE before they started going out, and 6 months really isn't all that long to get used to being openly lovey dovey.
These two seem like they're able to acknowledge their shortcomings as individuals and a couple, and they said so many times that they feel safe and happy with each other. Georgia seems to have had some tricky experiences with relationships in the past, but I can see that they're willing to work for this and each other.
Idk maybe I'm looking through rose-colored glasses, but I'm hopeful for them, especially after they had such an important conversation like this.
