Leonard Whiting was the ONE. Regardless of status. The 3 husbands of Olivia couldn't compare w/ Leonard Whiting. The world wondered why they didn't marry. The world couldn't accept her marriages to others. Leonard Whiting was and always will be, the ONE. it's tragic, the world was waiting and wanted to see a wedding that never came. 😞😞😞 So now the world hears that it was all about status. How can she not act on it ? Leonard Whiting was stunningly gorgeous, a true realistic WINNER. it's still a tragedy. 😠😠😡😡😞😩😩😩 They were still to young to marry after the movie was made, but they could have gotten engaged still. Leonard seriously loved her. SHE let him slip away. On the other hand, he too, should have made a stand to keep her close. 😱 It's totally upsetting.......totally upsetting. NO. Leonard Whiting was the ONE.....😢
The only person(s) who deserve an opinion re relationships are the 2 in the relarionship. Third party or public opinions are essentially mute. The reasons LW states are valid: many "Hollywood divorces" caused by same reason.
.....I read that he was the one who "couldn't be tamed" - and I get it..... but to comeback later and said it was "status" - come on! Having said that, I think this story is made up and to profit from her death.
My wife always observed feelings there. Now his heart will finally be open. My wife talks so much about it...I am grateful Leonard lives on the West Coast and not agricultural NY. My wife is used to chasing after ppl and she chased me before we married
_There will never be a Juliet Capulet interpreter like the beautiful Olivia Hussey in Shakespeare's immortal play. As the English bard well described in the fifth act of his same 'masterpiece':_ _Death, that hath suck'd the honey of thy breath, / Hath had no power yet upon thy beauty: / Thou art not conquer'd; beauty's ensign yet / Is crimson in thy lips and in thy cheeks, / And death's pale flag is not advanced there._

Some people are better off as friends. That is sweet they stayed pals for decades!
The fact that they played a couple in a film does not mean the key for a real life successful relationship
