      I made the exact same jump. Bought the 24 ultra because it was on sale but I didn't have any huge issues with my 20 ultra. I really could have held on longer, but when I finally completed the switch I was really happy with it. Better battery life for sure. I only charge up over night.

    I still have my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and will be holding on to it until 2028, when the Samsung Galaxy S28 Ultra is released. Even then, I'll never sell, trade, or get rid of this phone. It has been the best smartphone I have ever experienced in my life, and overall one of the best pieces of technology I've ever owned next to my Playstation 5 Slim, Playstation 5 Pro, and 43" Samsung TU7000 Crystal UHD 4K HDR10 60hz TV. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has solidified itself as the greatest smartphone on the market, besides of course the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Im also so in love with this phones beautiful, boxy, squared off, rectangular design with its sharp corners and edges. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra started what I would call the greatest and best smartphone design ever made, and if Samsung decided to keep this design for another 10 years, I wouldn't be mad at all. With that said, im officially team Samsung for the remainder of my time on this earth, and as long as they keep making the Samsung Galaxy S Ultra series, I will keep buying.

      Perhaps I am not a diehard tech enthusiast but an everyday user. I traded in my Note20 Ultra for the S24 Ultra because it was ending security support this year, and my battery wasn't lasting as long. I was enticed by the trade-in deal. If the deal wasn't so good, I would have just kept my Note 20 Ultra for another year. Even the upgrade from the Note 20 Ultra wasn't mind-blowing. It's just another accessory my life, like a toaster. Sure, it has longer battery life and runs apps a bit faster, but other than that, I would have been happy to continue using my Note 20 Ultra. Tech isn't wasn't like it was 10 years ago where people felt like they had to upgrade every two years or so. As long as it does the job you want it to or isn't broken, there's no real to upgrade.

    I had almost traded in my pixel 7 pro at the time for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. I really wanted one. What stopped me was I really like the pixel and it is way more comfortable to hold. More importantly is the software features on the pixel that S24 ultra doesn’t have (call screening) for example. Since then I have upgraded to the Pixel 9 Pro XL; a device no where near powerful as the S24 Ultra but well sorted out from hardware to software for everyday needs.

      I had the Pixel 7 Pro as well and decided to get the One Plus 13 instead of the next S25 Ultra or Pixel phone. I don't need the best possible camera though and I have a high priority in battery life, speed/fluidity of the UI and charging speed. It's crazy to charge a phone in under 40 minutes to me. 9 Pro XL is a good choice though. Just really wished Google would get a better processor and do something about the slow charge speeds really.

    • @terrencebenjamin7241
      @terrencebenjamin7241 9 часов назад +1

      @@blessedred the last bit the processor and the charger. They did well with a processor that is slower than the iPhone 12’a and super fast charging speed to a point is overrated since it can degrade your battery faster. The battery life on the Pixel 9 Pro XL is so good that more than 30 watts charging speed is insignificant. I am getting 2 days of use out of it with my use.

    • @blessedred
      @blessedred 9 часов назад

      @@terrencebenjamin7241 My Pixel 7 Pro wasn't super buttery smooth at all times though, that's mainly why I don't trust the current tensor processors. Like scrolling Twitter is a bit stuttery on it. Or if I put multiple emotes in discord I can see the framerate slow down significantly. Not much of a gamer but just in regular use case scenarios I did see the Pixel skip a beat or hang for a bit. And it did get noticeably warm sometimes doing basic things.
      And for the super fast charging, it depends on the phone actually. OnePlus specifically make their chargers in a way that puts most of the heat into the actual charger instead of the phone. And because it's heat that really is degrades the battery, OnePlus batteries last longer than others. The 13's battery for example is rated for 1600 cycles before it'll reach 80% capacity. The iPhone 16 (I believe) is rated for half of that (800) to reach 80% capacity. So my phone will charge faster and last longer. And for the battery life in general, I've had my OP13 for a few days now and it's significantly better than my 7 Pro. My first day I got 8 hours of SOT and was still at 20% battery. It only took 28 minutes to charge it back to 100%. Battery anxiety just doesn't exist anymore. Even if I'm in a hurry.

Something about the S24 Ultra, with the much more functional 5x lens, the anti-reflective display, and perhaps most of all the performance with the 8 Gen 3 just clicked with what I was looking for.
    I'm ready to upgrade to the S25 Ultra because it seems to be an improvement in performance, and the design with the rounded corners is more the style I would want from my daily phone. After owning Nexus and Pixel phones, the detail captured in photos just always feels slightly lacking. I'll agree the Ultra isn't quite "Ultra" or innovative as the Note line was, but still very good. Love my S24U, just hope dropping Bluetooth support for the S Pen is just a rumor or I'm keeping my S24U past the 7 yrs of updates. Only regret will be not dishing out the extra cash for the 512gb or 1 Tb model over the base 256gb S24U. Side note: do you recommend glass lens protectors for the rear cameras? Been debating whether to add one for extra protection and to avoid scratches to the lenses..

    I still don't know if I should trade in my S23 Ultra for an S25 Ultra. It's a great phone, and I really like having optical 10x zoom, The only issue I currently have is the battery is really not lasting much anymore. I need to charge it multiple times a day. I sometimes need to be careful taking too many pictures when I'm out because I might run out of battery.

    The S23-ULTRA is still ultra enough for me, probably get the S25-Ultra just after the launch of the S26-Ultra. It doesn't make much sense anymore to get the latest and greatest for double the price when between generations there only is an incremental improvement.

    Samsung can ditch the 200mp main sensor and put 200mp on telephoto like what vivo x200 pro did.
    What's the point of of having 200mp main sensor when you won't be zoming in with it after 3x and everything after 5x (upto 100x) is the telephoto

    I used to have the Samsung Note 10+ and switched to the Foldables. Honestly, I wasn't super happy with them after a while they were all the same more or less after FOLD 4 and started to feel like a gimmick from Samsung. So, I switched to the S24 Ultra, and I'm really glad I did!
    I love the cameras and the screen on this phone. The battery life is awesome too. I think I'll stick with the S series for a bit because I feel like Samsung might be pushing the Foldables a little too hard these days."

    And why people who suffer with fatigue, wanting to update to a new phone every year is beyond belief,
    Will keep the S24 ULTRA for as long as it holds as to it having the Bluetooth s-pen ,
    And still what is the beast is the Note20 ULTRA because got the s-pen Bluetooth, as to the SD card slot still,
    not like todays so-called money making scam to sigh up to cloud,
    Won't even consider buying the S25 ULTRA while still getting bugs on update from Samsung,
    Staying well clear of the Folding and Flip kind as they are completely crap.

    I upgraded to the S24 Ultra last year from the S22 Ultra and I've never been more disappointed. There was literally no difference between the 2 except the 24 looks more blocky and a bit worse to be honest. The performance and camera boosts were negligible at best and the AI push from Samsung to distinguish the 24 from the rest fell flat. I think I'm just getting over the dopamine of having the latest Samsung flagship every year.

Im keeping my s22U it has a new battery, plus Samsung has gotten the heating under control with optimization. I am disappointed 😞 with Samsung. i wanted to upgrade, but I'll wait it out another year. Battery size & tech are midrange specs, along with displays, charging & cameras 😢

      @JaimeRiveraTech I live in Finland and we had glorious white winter and I had to scratch my head in bewilderment why after S23 ultra we had a step back on the camera. Things did improve with time but Samsung needs to look somewhere else than Apple to compete in the future. Maybe they are already cooking something great for S26 series or whatever the 2026 models will be called, S25 seems to be only riding on the coat tails of the improved photo processing of the Snapdragon 8 elite. Otherwise I like Samsung user experience, pen is a godsent for lightroom. But cameras these days lack character.
