THANK YOU SO MUCH DAN! I can’t wait to get my Loake boots back. Sitting here with my wife and daughter and we just can’t believe how amazing they look. Who’d have thought my old beautiful boots would be so famous! Thank you for taking the time to make the vid too 👍👍👍
Good to see you replaced the mid sole, I had a resole done by Loake to a pair of Loake boots very similar to the ones in this video , (Tewkesbury design) and they came back minus the mid sole when I mentioned this by e mail and a few phone calls to people higher up staff list I was sent a copy of Loakes' catalogue to choose a pair of boots so I picked a pair of blue Bedale lace up boots costing £295 ...all I wanted was a £90 repair
I know it's not your usual thing, but I'd love to see you try your hand at crafting a brand new pair of shoes from scratch. A pair of Dan the Cobbler originals! Maybe even do a viewer giveaway for them, or auction them for charity.
Wow! In the USA if you addressed your viewers as "Ladies and Gents" you'd be canceled by the woke crowd. Thanks for being real. Dan! Like your vids! All the best!
Hi Dan, I'm going through a lot right now and it's going well. Your videos help me disconnect and feel better so thanks for that! Keep up the good work!
Great energy today. Fantastic skills as always. Humour was on point. Your expertise and passion for what you do is inspiring. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.
OMG at 03:04 when someone popped in and asked something I couldn't hear for the heat gun and paused the video so I could hear her better... What an idiot 😆
Is there any real reason you don't just glue items together once the contact adhesive has dried to the tacky stage instead of allowing the adhesive to fully dry them heating it up back into the tacky state? It makes sense to fully dry and reheat in a factory setting where you can't guarantee you will catch the glue at the correct time. But when doing it to only one or two shoes at a time, it seems inefficient to have to always reheat the glue.
Dan, real skilled workmanship, I have been watching your channel for a while but this really shows up close how you achieve such a professional finish…keep up the excellent work…one day I will visit your shop…👍
The Loake look great. I don't know why Laboutin can't use proper red rubber soles instead of a bit of paint that wears off as soon as a pavement looks at it.
Hi Dan i just come across this channel and its great to see you keeping the shoe repair game alive on youtube. I'm pretty sure i delivered them machines for you when i worked for standard
I've got a similar pair of Loakes. One extra thing you can do when polishing is use some Acetone (nail varnish temover) on a cloth to remove where any polish has got on the elastic parts on the sides.
Dan, my G. Could u please upgrade microphone quality by using any sort of wireless RODE mic. And i'd like to wish u could somehow start using 4K camera, cuz I think you doing amazing job and I'm watching a lot of your worlds in the shop. It would be really cool to see close ups in 4K resolution, cuz of RUclips upload decoding really kills this 1080p. Much love, stay real bro! Wish you a great day! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻💯👞🥾👞
I wish you were my local cobbler. My local one ruined a pair of my work boots and didn't even bother to apologize, much less offer a refund. And to make matters worse, he did a bad job at that as well.
Love that you put up a new video! BTW you're living life on the edge with those white shirts you're wearing! :D I am wondering, are you still opting for a course for people interested in the 'cobbler craft'? (sorry not a native english speaker) I am learning to repair orthopedic shoes and some additional tips and tricks are always interesting
I think I'm calling BS here, I'm pretty sure father stitchmas might actually be Dan 🤔. However father stitchmas does have a mustache 🤔 so I'm not exactly sure if they are infact the same person or not 🤔🤷.
I brought a pair of Dunlop wellies into Dan they had welded cow shite on them Dan turned them into a pair of Jeffrey west's cx horsehide with a custom pair of nipple tassels I was well pleased
Absolutely fascinating stuff, Love your content! I have sat through your back catalogue and loved watching. Learned you have run at the pod? WARNING stop now! do not put hoosier slicks on you car to chase a ten. I ran a 13 sec quarter in my pop ten years ago, i am now chasing 8`s in my front engined dragster. Put them slicks on ya muscle car and it`s a road to ruin! SERIOUSLY ADDICTIVE FUN!! Just bought my first two pair of loakes and waiting on some JL boots! Keep up the content it is seriously good. Thanks for posting.
I'm a cobbler in training, and I like to watch how you work. You make it fun lol. Also, why is there a random pink rubber duck on you floor? 😂 I'm only in Milton Keynes. Might pop in for some tips haha. Great work
This video is awesome Dan!!! Thank you for this informative work!! I loved the resoling of the Lobb because I'm a fan of them in addition to the French JM Weston shoes!! In addition, you have great tone & you are very dynamic in your videos!! A big thank you from France (Alps)!!😍😍👌👌🤞🍾🥂🥃🐣
I come here to relax and watch a craftsman at work, the personality is a nice bonus. But seriously … Dan if you ever find yourself looking for a boyfriend, let me know. 😂
@Tring Shoe Repairs, another fantastic video Dan! And yes I saw our little "ducky" friend Rob! "Father Stitchmas", lol... I have to say I really love to watch/listen to that old stitching machine, it reminds me of the machines my folks had once worked with in old textiles. I like those "Brit Soles", you made quick work of them, I wonder how they feel under the feet... The Creme you put on the boots, I think the slight "darkening" gave the leather a richer appearance, very nice! Your expression in the blooper reel @21:58.😄
Dan, I was wondering if you could do some videos on resoling Nike (or other athletic brands) collectible sneakers 😂I’m sure your technique would be a lot better than those amateurs with their sole swapping methods.
Reminds me of the guy who put his shoes in the cobblers for new sole and heels. On his way home he bumped into an old school friend and was talked into joining the merchant navy. He was away for 14 years. When he came home he found the ticket for the cobbler repair and handed it in out of curiousity. The cobbler looked at the ticket and went into the back of the shop. He came back after 10 minutes and said to the guy, "they'll be ready on tuesday"! 🤣
Hi Dan, brilliant work as always! I have a question outside of the episode. Outside your shop, it has all the services that you offer beyond shoe repair. Was it always this way, or have these services been added over time? I see similar approaches at most shoe repair shops here in the states. A shop that is just straight shoe repair seems to be a dying breed. Sorry if this comes off as intrusive to your business. I was just curious.
Love your channel Dan , you really know your stuff , , , do you ever get customers come in with repairs or alterations to sports footwear , like ice/hockey skates , figure skates , ski boots , mountain climbing shoes , ice climbers spiked footwear and stuff like that , or are you mostly just everyday shoe repair ? , something like that could make for an interesting video , , , looking forward to your next job/video 👍👍👍 .
Preach it Dan!!! Take out the old stitches!!! Not only is awful for the next guy who fixes it. The stitching over old stitches turns the welt into swiss cheese if has to be rewelted the customer has to pay a whole bunch more
Love watching your videos, I live across the pond, so I don't know how much you'd charge US for a resole. I was thinking of having you do a repair for my boss, who is a church pastor. I came across your channel before he rehired me, and I had already thought of having you do your work on his shoes.
THANK YOU SO MUCH DAN! I can’t wait to get my Loake boots back. Sitting here with my wife and daughter and we just can’t believe how amazing they look. Who’d have thought my old beautiful boots would be so famous! Thank you for taking the time to make the vid too 👍👍👍
Thank you mate! Without your loakes this video couldn't have been made! Fantastic shoes, they look wonderful
Very welcome my friend ☺️ thank you for the custom!
Hi bud love to see if you can construct from scratch a new shoes or boots?
I know it's not your usual thing, but I'd love to see you try your hand at crafting a brand new pair of shoes from scratch. A pair of Dan the Cobbler originals! Maybe even do a viewer giveaway for them, or auction them for charity.

@ClemBt, you're never alone! I hope things continue to improve with whatever you're going thru!
@clemBt, once you come out on the other side, you will feel stronger than ever before. Trust me 👍
Very welcome my friend, onwards and upwards!
LOL...Father Sticthmas? What time did you starting tapping the sherry?
Didn't know Monkey Shoulder made sherry.
Hey Dan. Amazing job! Can you let us know the song at the 17:11 mark
it's Zorro - Marinate ^^
Great energy today. Fantastic skills as always. Humour was on point. Your expertise and passion for what you do is inspiring. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.

YOOOO - Lil B
Father Stitchmas cracked me up. Great job as usual Dan, love the stitching machine the best. Thanks.
The Loake look great.
I don't know why Laboutin can't use proper red rubber soles instead of a bit of paint that wears off as soon as a pavement looks at it.
Are you open Bank Holiday Monday? I have some desert boots that need TLC
I’m glad to see that Father Stitchmas paid you a visit and blessed your work. Lol!
Hi Dan i just come across this channel and its great to see you keeping the shoe repair game alive on youtube. I'm
pretty sure i delivered them machines for you when i worked for standard
Why do you call Monkey Shoulder sherry when it's Whisky?
I've got a similar pair of Loakes. One extra thing you can do when polishing is use some Acetone (nail varnish temover) on a cloth to remove where any polish has got on the elastic parts on the sides.
Nice work like this combo red/ tan 👍👍👍👍🐈⬛
Monkey Shoulder Sherry??!!
Is anyone else laughing at father stitchmas... No... Yes.... Just me then but really did make me smile Danthebestcobman 😂 😂

Nice work. Do you rate Loake as a quality shoe in 2023?
nah. 1880 is ok but otherwise...
Love your videos, Dan! ❤
Another absolute corker! Laughed so hard at Father Stitchmas!
😂 🎅🏻
Are you Going to Bring Annabelle To Las Vegas in November To Watch the F-1 , Race In the City of Sin , at Caesars Palace Should be a Good one,
your a Legend good sir.
So Father Stitchmas likes sherry and mince pie... what do cobblers put out for cobblers' elves these days? : D
Dan, do you compete in strong men and workout with other strongmen from the UK? Ever completed against Tom Stoltman his brother or Eddie Hall?
I wish you were my local cobbler. My local one ruined a pair of my work boots and didn't even bother to apologize, much less offer a refund. And to make matters worse, he did a bad job at that as well.

Hi Dan love watching. Im also a cobbler , just wondering if your going to the exhibition in Kettering on the 24th? Would love to meet you
Amazing Job great !!!!!!! by the Way can you tell me the Shirts Brand ...thnaks a lot !
"FEEZE!" he says, while pointing a heat...gun at me...Dan, I'm not sure you thought that through totally.
I think I'm calling BS here, I'm pretty sure father stitchmas might actually be Dan 🤔.
However father stitchmas does have a mustache 🤔 so I'm not exactly sure if they are infact the same person or not 🤔🤷.

This is a very niche profession. What made you choose a cobbler? No judgement just curious.
Sorry just checked the boots and they are Towcester design which I think is no longer available.
Watch Bikes of rye tell me this guy doesn’t remind you of him 👍🏻 great content my friend 👍🏻
i have a bottle of monkey shoulder here next to me Dan! its good stuff for the price! haha. great video as always my man i love your channel.
Can you repair my old Johnston and Murphy shoe if i courier to you pls 🙏. Its a humble request to you sir iam from India
Can you repair my old Johnston and Murphy shoe if i courier to you pls 🙏. Its a humble request to you sir iam from India
You look exactly like a friend of mine, I almost thought he put in some ear plugs and adopted an English accent 😂
Your content is always quality.
They turned out well. Great to see Father Stitchness make a cameo appearance😂
Father stitchmas sorry to tell you that is monkey shoulder blended scotch not sherry. But the best blended scotch in my opinion.
Great job as always 👌👏
when hammering the sole to the shoe, would it not flatten the cork too much?
I am looking to buy short heights boots, this look like a comfortable brand. I know boots have to be broken in.
Can’t think why Father Stichmas looked a bit familiar 🙄
still waiitng for some more workout videos, or maybe im on the wrong channel of yours hmm
Puedes poner subtitulos en español por favor, gracias!!!
Father stitchmas looks so familiar, I swear I’ve seen him somewhere before.
Sherry in a Monkey Shoulder whisky bottle, questionable :)
Setelah lama pemakaian bentuk uper akan berubah, Kenapa posisi uper tidak ditata ulang agar mendapatkan bentuk seperti baru 😊
Why isn't there a rubber duck in your pond actually come to think of it hahaha
Bro!! You can’t wear adidas socks with Nike shoes. 💀
have you ever caught the shoe leather with the sander? if you have how did you fix it
What is the machine called at 9.51 that takes the excess off of the midsole?
Father Stitchmas… sounds like cobblers to me.
Love that Brit sole!! 🤌🏼
Great work Dan the red soles look fantastic but the black sole is very nice classy ❤
When you use the punch why don't you say "that's the way to do it?"
Think that just excuse have wee drink lol 😂
That looks like Monkey Shoulder scotch.
I think i saw this lad in Ibiza... he was not repairing shoes
Haven't seen you drop a pin on the floor in a while.
Have you ever considered taking on an apprentice
this cork is a forbidden honey granola
@6:54 will there b lightning&thunder at 7?

Well done 2 pair of new boots Better than originally made
I think anyway 🤷♂️🤷♂️👍👍
Still no "Sexy Dan" mugs......
How much for a job like that?
I was looking forward to playing "Where's Ron" maybe next week. Cracking video as always Dan.
Is it true loakes are made in India?
What about lovely lady lumps?
This video is awesome Dan!!! Thank you for this informative work!! I loved the resoling of the Lobb because I'm a fan of them in addition to the French JM Weston shoes!! In addition, you have great tone & you are very dynamic in your videos!! A big thank you from France (Alps)!!😍😍👌👌🤞🍾🥂🥃🐣

"The Stitcher Gods" sounds very Lovecraftian, I don't know why 😂
Excellent work as always, Dan!
That a zenith youre wearing?
Thanks for sharing. Love your channel. Can’t wait for every episode.

Love the bloopers at the end. BTW, when is your power lifting competition? ❤
I've watched so many of your videos and always wondered why the heat lamp/oven was not made big enough for a whole sole to fit?! it's a real bugbear

I was listening to an episode of “Mark Steel’s in Town” in Tring from 2022 and he mentioned the shop.
