Hello JM Auto, I hope you're still in service. I have a 2002 Mazda MPV LX 3.0L that cranks but will not turn over after a timing chain replacement. I hope you can help me with the ground locations. I don't remember where the wire comes from either the backside head cover or the oil pan. Is it possible to put on a ground directly from the negative cable from the battery? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

hi, yes you can run grounds not only from battery but from other grounds too, just curious, if it cranks then it should turn over

@JMAutoRepairnum1 thank you for your reply. I think I'm missing an engine ground for the O2 sensors. I don't remember if it was on the oil pan or the bank 1 head cover. I had oil leaks from the timing chain cover and ticking from the crankshaft pulley so I replaced all the gaskets. Oil pan, heads, and timing chain cover and assembly. I have power on the new crankshaft and camshaft sensors but still no spark to the new coils and plugs. Once again thank you very much for your help. God bless you and your family.

My 2006 MPV also has a loss of power and transmission shifts seem clunky. Did you also notice a rattle sound?
