- I really like Team Heko Wind Deflectors. Here's how to install them on Seat Leon Cupra R (or any other car). They subtly enhance the look of the car and make driving with windows ajar a more pleasant experience by deflecting wind and rain.

Had these on my last van, lasted years. New Van arrived with these already fitted but 3 weeks later one fell off down the road due to whoever installed relying on the adhesive alone, the clips are essential to keeping these fitted tight
Thank god, a straightforward no nonsense you tube video
Very good video👍🏾helped me and managed to fit mine on my mk2 in 15 mins, was clueless about the clips before didn’t know they were this easy to push in always thought they were tricky.
Had mine on for almost 4 years now and they have lasted well. One thing that they cause though is scratches on the glass where it inserts into the frame of the door. As it pinches the deflector. Other than that. Great.
Just bought some of these for my Fiat so thanks for the heads up, will definitely be putting some adhesive felt or rubber inside mine to prevent damage.
@@CrisisOnACanoe Did you put that over the clips? Thats what I fear the most....the clips scratching the glass.
definitely looks way better love these mods keep up the good work man
Thank you so much for your support! I think everyone should get these.
ordered mine 👌
Installed mine today on my skoda, the fit was SUPER snug, I had to push it in on the right on side, then bend the wind deflector to get the left hand side in, then worked my way from left to right to get the middle pushed in.. It still came with the clips so I used them, but the fit left zero wiggle - I installed these 8 years ago and they weren't as snug, I think they've updated the designs on some of these!
Hey, thanks! This video was exactly what I needed - I've just bought a full set of these things, but they only came with instructions in German and Italian! I'm actually looking forward to the installation process now.
Great video. I never knew how to install them stupid clips so I threw them away and let the tape kind of secure it. May just order another set now as mine are out of shape a bit.
Thanks men for helping me skoda to put it on you are legend 👏👏👏
Good straight to the point video 👏🏻👍🏻
Why you didn't show how to putting on clips inside!!!
Thanks man, this helped!! No more of that awful wub wub wub noise haha
Very helpful no messing about video , great voice too man , you should be on the radio 👍👍👍
I came here to say that. Definitely a radio voice
Where did you get the clips from? What to search for? Thank you
Installed mine without clips will ot make a difference? I got clips but seemed arkward on my a class nit trying to damage it they felt strong you have to put window up couple times until lined up otherwise keep coming up and down
Thanks bro 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻helped a lot saved me self a trip to the garage!!
So i got mine, fairly quick install but its really dumb how it says on the little pink slip to put one clip on the side next to the mirrior and one at the top, but the HEKO youtube vids put both clips on the top really confusing
Bought a 4 piece set of hecko deflectors for my Swift sport, does the support clips come with them do you reckon or would I have to buy the clips separately?
Another video said to install them with the spikey part of the clip facing outwards. I did that, is that probably gonna be fine still?
Got these today for my Civic Type R FK8 (2019). The front ones fit fine, although the brackets won’t fit once the deflector is in. The back deflectors won’t fit at all.
Great video and easy to follow, best out there.
Mr Strong get them on eBay ... called .. Wind / Rain Deflector Channel New Metal Retaining Clips For Heko G3 SNED Clip X8
Good day. Metal clips do not scratch the edge of the glass?
How do you fit these clips for 2015 Acura TLX? My window channel seems to not fit them
I installed mine but the brackets have scratched the edge of my window tint. Not sure if the clips are installed properly
how do you orient this metal part? should the sharp pointy thing be facing deflector?
Thanks for sharing I was nervous at first but I put mine on my Hyundai i20 looks great on a white car.....👍
Did you have rears as well? Just fitted mine and the backs don't seem to want to stick on the outsides
This guy has done a decent video why have people given him a thumbs down!!!!!!
Possible for his comments on quitting smoking ? WHY mind your own business.
Mine came today, but they look huge, do they go straight on or do they need cutting?
Thanks very helpful review. 👍🏻
Im looking just for the rear deflectors. Can you help me?
Any reason as to why my window kicks in safety release when it gets near the deflector
Spot on video squire
gives a nice look to the car
+Redline Revs Thank you sir, it helped me a lot in my choice! How have you liked yours since installation?
I just got a set for the front drivers door windows and passenger side so that I can leave the windows open a little to prevent the windscreen misting up over night when its cold and not ending up with wet seats I only got two metal fixers per window could have done with extra ones.
I smoke so its so annoying when its raining and the water gets in through 1 inch . Perfect vid, ordered mines from E bay
Thanks. Clear simple video.
Good video easy and helpful 👍
Awesome job how would i be looking at to get it installed by someone else
Very helpful, thankyou mate
You have a great broadcasting voice
Haha thanks you're the first to say that. I don't really like the sound of my own voice on the videos. Thanks for commenting.
Just done one vw golf estate. No problems at all. No scratching windows. Just watch someone who does that professionally. Make sure ur clips in right way. Make sure on rear one you have a right side🙈 good luck
Would this work for frameless cars like TT? CANT FIND ANYWHERE ONLINE PLZ HELP
Few questions, does this actually work? Also does it make any noise while driving with the windows closed? No problems with the window closing all the way up? Thanks...
ive fitted mine but it sounds a bit like its catching or rubbing when i close the window
Gorgeous motor. So hard to find a MK1 Leon cupra for sale these days. Is that the petrol or diesel?
Awesome video dude. Just about to install these myself and wasn't sure what the clips were for. No instructions came with mine! Thanks again!
hi @Vish L how's it now ? still stable ? any scratches on your glasses? thanks
@@curtistw2724 hey! No scratches. One flew off on the motor way! I had to secure it properly with strong double sided tape cut to size.
@@almightyguru Where did you put the double sided tape? Between the inside of the door channel where the clips normally get in and above the wind deflectors?
Cheers matey! 👊
Will it damage your tint?
Thanks. It's all easy enough it seems. I'm looking to convert my Skoda estate a little for car acmping and want some rain-free ventilation. Cheers!
Can you send a link for the clips please
There were some fitted to my kizashi without the clips and fell off. Think I will put them back on with some fresh tape as the do look good.
Hi
I really want this for my Toyota Yaris hatchback hybrid 2020
Can tell me if you do this model?
And if available on eBay?
I like how your rear deflectors are slimmer at the end. Is that how they all are?
Good work 👍
Thanks for the video
This is a fine video.
I put my rear ones on the other way round on purpose cause I think it looks better!
Thanks for vid, huge help!
I just installed 2 on my 3 dr astra h. The passenger was fine. When i did up the window on the drivers side the bit with the sticky tab above the door handle side split. I thought I saw in yours that the drivers side was busted too. Does it still work or should i get a refund. Tbh i did as instructions said. The window caught on it as I was doing it up and that when it made a bang and snapped. So pissed. I've left my windows closed for now still but not sure if it will stay in. Should I try get a new one since i only got them today?
Same thing happened to 2 cars that I installed them pasaanger side all fine and window is going up and down without problem but when I put the window up on driver side the part that goes in snapped
I am stuck trying to do mine, the clips aren't pushing in
I but also Heko Windows deflectors in my KIA but they don't want toate stau fixed. Everytime when I left window down the Wind deflectors get off. What should I do?
Hey thanks for commenting. Try getting new heko clips from eBay and install the wind deflectors again. Good luck!
Have the same ones on my Mk1 Leon. The aircon is stuffed but I can keep the windows slightly open on the motorway to help keep cool. Just wish they were a bit bigger since it's difficult to open the electric windows a small amount. Also the edges are rather sharp, caught my hand on them a few times and it hurts!
Chris Wales I often don't use the air con with deflectors but you're right the back of the window opens down further than the deflector, however any bigger and they probably wouldn't look as good.
Chris, did you have a MK4 Golf at any point?
@@paulsheehan2998 no, but I still have the Leon and it's had most of the suspension replaced with 2nd hand parts including the rear axle. So I could be driving a mostly MK4 Golf now 😂
Great vid appreciate !
Very helpful bro, thanks
Glad it helped!
The clips don't do anything on my golf 3 door. I can't secure them and they won't go all way in and when I close window it hits them and makes god awful noise. So took them off. The actual defector doesn't fit that well either down by the mirror area.
Mine have been stolen off my car with the windows up. I'm a little confused how, and I want to buy some more. Just wondering if anyone knows a way to stop them getting stolen again please. They must be poor because they only cost me £30.
I have those for over a year. Good stuff. For that price. Removed the ones on the rear side windows because of the windowtint
BadRastaNL they are great, I've had them before but these have been on the car for 2 years. Just ordered new clips from ebay as the hekos came off for the tint.
Just got my order with them here in Sweden. Found it interesting they left a warning they shod be installed in 20 degrees celsius because their made of acryl plastic. Im guessing there going inside during winter seasons etc.. Really just wanted a flashier look on the summers. Check my GTI Clubsport on ma channel if your into hot hatchbacks! 👍
I just fitted mine. Do you know if the brand name on the back deflectors by default are suppose to be toward the front side or the back side? So the brand name on both the front and back are next to each other, the front deflector with the name at back side, the back deflector with name at front side..? With mine, I had to fit the back ones with the brand name at the back side, like the front ones. The deflectors are a bit thinner towards one side, hinting that side is to be at the back. The thinner side also has the brand name on them. I keep seeing others where the brand name is at the front side on the back deflectors and it's making me think I have fitted the back ones on the wrong sides. I tried first with it the other way but it was so tight it wouldn't slide in at one end, the flat bit seemed too long for one side so I fitted them the other way so the brand name and thinner side is towards the back. If you are not confused by now, do you know if I have done it correctly? thanks
Think that’s incorrect mate, I done mine today and almost made the same mistake.. Was so close to pushing the clip in and thought something didn’t look right. Hope you’re sorted👍🏾
Having real trouble fitting these on my seat leon fr. There is no channel at all for the clips to go into. Deflector is so loose. There's barely half a cm of gap clips aren't fastened at all
Good instructions ,better than the Heko information -----Thanks
are they available in India
I bought wind deflectors for my seat mk2 2012 but the 2 front ones barely fit...when I put the windows up it struggles I made sure I bought the right ones but I'm not sure why it don't fit
That's odd - sure you got the right ones for mk2 and that they've been pushed up as far as they can?
The third vid I watch and the only one explains quite well. When you install the litlle clips to retain the deflector, why you didn't show underview ? Whatever thank you for your video. Thumb up.
I can find for mercedes w211 E280 2006 ??
Send me the website please
Great video, do you pop the clips in the actual window channel? IE where the window closes in? Many thanks
Yup
do they fit on audi a3 8p sportback 2010?
Probably, Team Heko makes them for almost every popular car
very good Video Thank you for you, helful
Which ones did you get do you have a link thanks 👌
Danny Jeffery sorry mate don't have a link search heko wind deflector and your make, mode and year on ebay you'll find it easily.
The supplied instruction leaflet shows the clip with the spike out towards the car not in. The spike should bite into the reflector not the door rubber seal.
I just watched a video from Heko before watching this one and they had the spike facing into the car to bite into the rubber seal, makes sense as that would make sure the clip cant fall out, if the spike was facing the guard, the guard and clips could all fall out together from the wind at speed if the adhesive didnt bite due to dirt etc
I may get these but will the clips scratch the windows as mine is a brand new car
Order plastic ones like i did
@@dabraka681 Where can I find plastic ones, can you link them please?
If you’re going to a carwash does it wash under it? And will it not break in a carwash?
If a car wash is breaking them then it’s probably trashing the rest of the car too?
Cheers, got some for my DS3 coming soon. In the event of wanting to take them off, are they a pain in the arse?
Cubejam thanks for commenting I'm sure you'll like the look. They pull out very easily and you can get a screwdriver to pry out the clips.
So the clips come with the wind Deflectors?
Yes
I Installed mine today and I'm not sure as when I close the window it seems like the motor is struggling meaning it want to go a bit more up
Or I'm just being peronoide
Hi, how easy are the clips to get out again? I can see instructional videos for installation but non for removing them. I've just tried my heko deflectors for size on my mazda 3 and the window doesn't want to close. The channel seems too tight for both the glass and the plastic. I don't want to risk pushing the clips in incase the window doesn't close and I can't get the clips out.
Pain to get them out gotta take a pick like tool to get them out and pull on them with the pick tool.. mine kept falling out from the clips so I'd have to pull the clip out and reinstall it till the visors broke from me keep having to reinstall the clips now I got messed up window trims with imprint of the clips .. not worth it if you buy these just add better 3m tape and leave the clips out.
What did you make finally? did you install with or without clips?
@@Nick-vl3mn I didn't end up installing them. I didn't want to risk having trouble with the windows not closing properly and not being able to get the clips out again. I sold the car about 12 months ago, but I still have the deflectors boxed up if you want them 😂
@@boltonmattd9759 :D Good, but i have Civic not Mazda and i live in Greece i supoose you are in USA... I asked you because for my Honda im undecided.I have a bad experience from the past with deflectors with Clips (4 Pcs). And now im between Heko with two Clips and Climair without Clips,i dont know which is better. For both there good and bad evaluations.
Bought for a zafira B, i snapped both fronts trying to get in. to tight
I install like this and over time your wind at the top gets scratches always along even on passenger side not a good idea :(
OK, you did the install, but where was the review? Or was that it?
Essential for vehicle stealth camping and when u leave the dog to nip to the shops it looks like the windows closed😁
(These days if you tie the dog up outside the shop they get nabbed)😣
I've put it on my car today and I wasn't really happy with the results.. it jammed the window that at first didn't fully close
I’ve ordered some for my FK8 Type-R. They should arrive tomorrow but I’ve read that once installed you need to leave them in place with the windows up for an hour (ideally overnight) did you try this?
I've fitted these, but my front windows whistle and let some road noise in 🙄
Any idea how to remove clips when taking these off?
Just lower the glass and pull the wind deflector out of the door, those clips are pretty useless.
Thank you
Anyone have issues with these and the automatic car wash? Especially in the winter.
Lmao this made me belly laugh.
Heko RUclips video shows the spike on the clip should be facing the outside of the channel, not inside. You have it installed with spike facing inside.
Thank alot.🤗
Are team heko ones legal in the Uk
I don't see why they wouldn't be?
They really add to the look of the car unlike some mods i have seen , rear lights and spoiler mods look awful on the Leon Mk1 IMHO
Grim wriggler yeah the Leon's definitely look better with the deflectors.
What are the clips called or how are they listed on ebay? Great Vid!!
