People in the comments acting like every romance novel is a sacred object just because it's a book.
Take it from a book lover who also has common sense: there's nothing wrong with repurposing junk books that would otherwise be thrown out. If whoever reads this disagrees with me, I challenge you to buy every romance novel you can find at a dollar store, read them all, then try to get rid of them afterwards without throwing them away. Libraries don't want them and no one buys modern used romance novels unless they're doing something exactly like what's happening in the video.

Agreed. Came here to say essentially this. I am an absolute bibliophile but I'm also creative and have common sense. There are junk books out there. Repurposing them to where they still continue to bring joy is the homage they deserve. 😊
If you are using a romance novel, I would check the pages showing in your final product because some can be very, very adult. 😳

Honestly, even as a book lover, I can agree romance novels are generally the best fodder for DIY stuff like this. I mean, come on, it's a dollar-store romance novel, not a 1st-edition Lord of the Rings. We don't need to be precious with it.

Since my dad made me suffer through that movie literally over 50 times I got it right away. You are Gollum saying “my precious” Now I have a question for you. Why were there no women in “The fellowship of the ring.” group that went with Frodo? It should have been called the brotherhood of the ring. My mom finally watched it one time and apologized to me for letting me suffer through-such a horrible movie. Maybe if it was called the “brotherhood” she would have realized her mistake sooner. It doesn’t matter really though, because that is the stuff of nightmares. The orcs really scared her
@@annaburns2865 What's wrong with having an all men group? I think the movies are amazing and the women we do have are incredibly badass. I know women are generally underrepresented especially in fantasy, but that just means more possibility to make new and fresh content with us at the center in the future!

can you please do an alum powder one and show us the results of each. I've been told that alum powder lasts longer than the borax ones but would love to see a side by side comparison of the two different crystals

I make Christmas angels out of the books. I spray paint them get some Styrofoam heads and glue on the top of the book.
Ither I get the googly eyes or I paint a face on the Styrofoam head. Then I get some yarn and make hair to put on the head.
Then find some type of wings or I use hanger which I haven't in awhile cause the hangers are a little to hard.
Also glitter pipe cleaners work as well for the wings.
Then get some tinsel glue stick and get the tinsel at the bottom of the book for frillys like a dress.
It's so gosh darn cute and got a snow angel made out of a book.

Step 2 drop them inside a cage and leave them in the ocean for a couple of days weeks or months and it will crystalize over time just make sure you don't forget about them

I understand the desire to protect the books. but reusing something that will be thrown away otherwise is never a bad thing.
much like people who throw fits over furniture being rescued from a dumpster and then changed into something new just because it's a certain type of wood. it was trash before. and it is loved and put to use now. that's what matters

I’m genuinely curious not in a rude way what kind of medicine you would be buying at Dollar General. I suppose you can buy little travel containers of Tylenol/Advil but I would never think to go to the dollar store for medicine.

Most entertainment/romance books are mass produced garbage, she stopped them from becoming trash and changed them into a different type of art.

Well normally I would scream “Fahrenheit 451 save all the books.” lol just kidding 😂But I appreciate that you explained that these books were going to get thrown away anyway. Some books are just smut or whatever and just someone’s pastime to write so it’s fine. Also, not the biggest fan of Halloween, but I love books 📚 obviously and it’s pretty cool that this can be done with anything. I’m interested to see what you will try to crystallize next. Are you going to do this for Thanksgiving and Christmas too?

I'm a book lover and I strongly disagree. Here's a thought: no one bought them for however many months they were in the store, libraries don't want them because repetitive churned-out romance novels are so plentiful they'd clog the shelves, no one really reads them twice, and they were rescued from being thrown away.
If you treat every ghostwritten cashgrab romance novel as a sacred object just because it's a book, you're going to quickly become a hoarder.
Maybe you should tell the publisher that they’re wasting books.
