India's Godrej family has reached a deal to divide operations and assets of the multi-billion-dollar Godrej conglomerate. Founded in 1897 and rooted in the pre-Independence Swadeshi movement, Godrej has emerged as a household name in India. Its businesses range from soaps to real estate to defence and aerospace equipment. The family said the decision to split was taken to "maintain harmony" and "better align with the differing visions of the members". Such business divisions tend to get a lot of coverage in India, where major businesses are run by families. Palki Sharma lists out some of the most talked-about splits in India's corporate history.

Nobody is stopping you from starting your own company and becoming rich. Stop crying and giving excuses. They are rich because their ancestors worked hard. You can also leave your next generation with enough wealth if you stop complaining and start doing.
Their ancestors bought that land when there was no city. Judging by the way this city has come up with namesake urban planning, its better they hold it in the group and develop as accordingly, not build concrete jungle with no water drainage and unmaintained roads.
They bought it a century ago. And there are probably 50+ descendants who can claim that land

Spilt - differences in ways of working its a norm - learning is how best to train family owned business shareholders to add va;ye as shareholders and allow the team operate and grow the business based on guiding principles and milestones collectively agreed upon . Family members when involved as management or on the board of shareholding need justify their position and earn their keep . In my learning based it’s simpler cheaper stress free to structure trust funds for next generation to stay away from wealth creation and income generation activities give them enough to live and make them hungry to work . Being born in a family of large business is a responsibility to shoulder the handing over to next generation in all aspects and not a privilege. I also enjoy the research you do during your narrative and walk away with the summarisation you share . You re doing good work in my understanding non biased as close to facts s possible .
