Wow, that analogy is perfect
@Feiner Fug we're like 140 years past Darwinian Evolution bud.
Feiner Fug really? Sounds to me like you’re dreaming about an abiogenesis to prove the theory a scientific fact as opposed to the fiction that it actually is...🤔
I'm going to use that analogy, it is perfect.
Conclusion: Creationists do not want to be persuaded to understand evolution because they do not want to wind up married to Aron
I don't think Darwin "wouldn't recognise" modern evolutionary theory. He would absolutely see the core thread that he documented and how it has been built upon.
He’d need to have some things that we’ve discovered since his time explained, but as soon as he understands it I’m sure he’d immediately draw the connection. He’s one of the greatest scientific minds of the last millennium and these are connections that a 5th grader could make lol
r/wooosh
ruclips.net/video/1zGHEcLYECc/видео.html
@NaCl3 except he absolutely would. he would read it as "nonsense nonsense nonsense natural selection", but he would recognize that his theory was still present in there, he just wouldn't understand the bits about "change in allele frequency", but as soon as he spotted the parts about mating and passing on new traits, he would understand immediately that he was looking at the modern version of his theory.
@NaCl3 it's entirely possible i misread your comment, i'm not entirely sure what my brain claimed you were saying, since it seems to have hastily deleted it, almost like it knew it was lying to itself.
It seems like every intelligent design argument winds up with a god of the gaps fallacy at its core.
It has to, because it depends on "irreducible complexity." Which is fancy talk for "I can't figure out how that could evolve, therefore God."
That's because God apparently doesn't want to just give us proof he exists, even though he easily could, being all powerful and all. Although, parts of the bible pretty much support the notion that you shouldn't look for evidence for God, instead just believe because, so these apologists are doing it wrong.

People who believe in miracles dismiss the Cambrian "explosion" as a miracle.
Yep. To be religious, you either have to be ignorant or a hypocrite.
I'm unfamiliar, can you explain?
@@salj.5459 Religious people who believe in creation and also deny evolution often use the Cambrian explosion as an example of something that is impossible and then claim that because it's not possible, it didn't happen.
A definition of a miracle is something that is impossible and therefore god's doing because for him nothing is impossible.
The cognitive dissonance is that they say that impossible things do happen, therefore god, but then also say that impossible/unlikely things don't happen or are more unlikely to happen than something impossible that god made possible and therefore evolution isn't true and therefore god is the more likely explanation.
There's a lot more wrong with that line of reasoning, but the glaring contradiction is one of the things wrong with denying evolution because of the unlikelihood of so many species to evolve so rapidly and at the same time believing in miracles. One of the other things is obviously the misrepresenting of the Cambrian "explosion". It took millions of years and was only fast in comparison to the rest of evolution and therefore it wasn't unlikely at all but inevitable. Our world doesn't have constant circumstances, so there will be a difference in speed in evolution, so there will inevitably be a time when it's the fastest.
Yes finally I was wondering when you'd do this.

There is a specific kind of computer program, called evolutionary algorithm or genetic algorithm which tries to mimic the way evolution works. When you are unsure how to find the optimal solution, you can use this algorithm to try random things at first, select the best performing instances, combine their "DNA" to create offsprings, and kill off the worst performing ones. In my opinion, this demonstrates that random changes and selection pressure does work. It works amazingly well, these algorithms can often find solutions that outperform intelligently designed solutions.
