I visited the London Natural History Museum earlier in the year. Which is slightly more impressive when I mention I'm Australian. It was an edifice of a building. I thought it was a cathedral as I was walking towards it, but I checked my map and realised that it was the museum. I'd share pictures if I could, but I was astounded and greatly moved that they had built something of this scale for the purpose of studying the natural world and sharing what they discovered.
While there I wanted to get a souvenir, but couldn't find something suitable until I went to the book section of the souvenir shop and found that they sold copies of Darwin's book, On The Origin Of Species. Perfect choice. It was a hard cover version with the museum imprinted on the spine, and I will treasure it always.

Fish or whale? Unrelated but in Japanese, whale is 鯨 (kujira). This ideogram is composed of fish (魚) and great or huge (京). So Japanese people saw this it as a “great fish” or “huge fish” (“京" can be translated to other meaning too but irrelevant here).
Before taxonomy and realizing whales are mammals, many other civilizations saw the whales as just big fish like any other creature swimming in the sea. So, Bible writers probably saw the whales as just big fish too.
    Just my 2 yen here.

And, he thinks viewership of plant evolution would be much lower as humans just are more interested in animals. But, he also said that he would like to learn about plant evolution as he enjoys learning. So he didn't seem to completely rule it out. But, don't hold your breath.

Honestly, watching Aron's science videos is fascinating; his ability to present all the data up to the current date in an easy-to-understand way makes the science feel more "real," if you get my drift. Like, yeah, any biology teacher worth their salt can present the info, but the difference lies in how the info is presented, and Aron can bring that in a way that never feels dry, or like he's talking down to anyone. He connects the dots, as they stand at present, and isn't afraid to say, "Yeah, up until last year, this is what the evidence told us about how this species evolved; then this new evidence was found that made us reevaluate our understanding." Like he says, science is a self-correcting system.
Time to go rewatch the Systematic Classification of Life series!

Looking at the fish illustration at 6:00, it doesn't look to me like the fish scales are drawn over the people. They even cast shadows on the scales, and they're praying in front of the altar which is definitely not inside the fish because the crucifix on top of it is outside.

Hey, did you know that bats and cetaceans can both echolocate?
Creationist: According to scientists whales evolved from bats!

Hi everyone, I am a converted Christian. Been an Atheist now for about 10 years. I have a question about evolution, it is one that was always used as a so to say "gotcha" by Christians. Every time I look it up I land up on some religious site, been a few years now and I'm exploring that question again. Please may you provide me with some guidance or links so I may research this more. The question was always "if evolution was true, what told the animals to stop evolving. Like monkeys or apes to not become human." I'm sure the answer is straight forward to most of you :D. Love this channel, been a sub for a good 7 years now!

Nothing ever stopped evolving. Nor does biodiversity in any way imply a final form like "turning human". Instead, the earliest monkeys lead to incredible variety, including one lineage that led to humans.

@@AronRa thank you so much for this. Makes perfect sense, I was definitely overthinking this question. Have thoroughly enjoyed your bibles series.

@@CyberStudios Aron is right and wrong. Nothing stops evolving BUT everything will evolve into its final form:

Humans are very new to the scene, so the number of novel species that evolved after us is comparatively small. On top of that, the time we spent paying attention to evolution in real time is basically infinitesimal.
Yet, we know early humans did see animals that don't exist anymore (like ground sloths and mammoths) and some animals today didn't exist back then (polar bears, bedbugs)
