I would say that processed soy products are no better for you than processed animal products. Soy isolates and whey isolates are comparable and I would recommend against them both. Neither can really be considered healthful as they do not provide health benefits like what you would get from whole plant foods. Tempeh and tofu are both processed. However, you should go with tempeh over tofu as the beans are more whole, less processed, has more fiber and protein and it's fermented so it actually promotes healthy gut flora. Basic questions/lines of reasoning for determining how healthful a food choice is would be first: Is it a whole food? Then if is processed, how processed and is it still nutrient dense or serve some purpose in aiding health/ weightloss? Eg. vinegar is a healthy processed food. Next look for the fat content and type of fats. Avoid too many saturated fats, avoid all forms of oil. If not, just limit your oil intake (most processed foods contain added oils), and avoid all trans fats--all animal products contain trans fats btw). Steer clear of added sugar, similar to oils, sugar is highly processed and should be avoided as much as possible. Lastly watch out for sodium content, aka salt.

“We should eat fewer animal-foods” man, that’s the vegan agenda... i would agree if he says that most people, which are obese, should eat less food. Because it is calories in and calories out.
Saturated fats increase your cholesterol; and take longer to digest(leaving you feeling more "satisfied") and leaving less room/desire for diversifying your diet. Almost all of the meat industry also uses hormones and antibiotics. How much this matters is up to you, I know people that don't eat meat for health reasons but will still consume other forms of processed/unnatural food. What is the safer dose of soy powder per day? I want to gain but there was so many hesitation i saw, other video tells different if these are based on the science then where is the consistency? I need a legit dosing of soy powder per day.. thank you and please i need a answer.. more power!
Did u try it?
3:46 I’m curious about the claim here that soy protein concentrates/isolates are low in phytoestrogens. As far as I’m aware, the level of soy isoflavones in isolate proteins can vary depending on the preparation methods, which is why LAM patients should avoid them. Is there large variability in isoflavones and other phytoestrogen levels in soy isolates?
Even if Soy has estrogen, it wasn't meant to live solely on it. You will eat fruits, fish, eggs, nuts, spinach...and throw in Soy, cuz the nutrients are too high to ignore it.
This segment sounds like apologetics for soy.
4:23 isnt that the case for soy protein powder as well?
Healthline is on RUclips???😄😄😄
We in Indonesia eat soybeans everyday. No problem.
Bruh... Oat milk literally poison.
soy raising the prolactin lvl as well, so it’s bad to me
“We should eat fewer animal-foods” man, that’s the vegan agenda... i would agree if he says that most people, which are obese, should eat less food. Because it is calories in and calories out.
Just check the scientific data.
@@MrSkatersOnly you are a moron
@@pvpmartins i may be. But i rely on science instead of believe
@@MrSkatersOnly you don’t even has the IQ to actually read papers
research bluezones all mostly plant-based...
wow you really lost me when you said... we should all be eating less animals products... Why is that?
3:15 why you clicked
Oat milk is low in protein, soy milk is better.
Fermentation increase soya health benefits and mitigates health risks/negatives. Always choose non-GMO though.
All vegan burgers like Impossible burger and Beyond meat contain GMO soy.
@@cocateaexpress2764 definitely look out for the non GMO options or buy plain tempeh to make your own burger style meal
thanks bro!
How to make difference between soy and pee protein ?
@Tejas Patil
:))))))
Nutritional powerhouse!
oat milk does not taste better at all.
Good... duh.... like!
Why should we eat fewer animal based products? What's wrong with them?
some people dont want to hurt and kill animals for food
because killing animals is insensitive.
Health is less about not consuming animal products than it is about consuming more home cooked plant rich meals
Not smart enough to agree or disagree but “the Gamechangers” is a documentary about the purported health benefits of vegan diets or at least diets which limit animal products.
I subscribed to this channel, there are good stuff here but this particular one thou not all facts are wrong but its kinda weak and I feel a lot of effort was made in order not to upset certain groups hehe.. kinda funny to watch actually. Good defensive play.
no mention of GMO?
GMO are safe, enough with this anti-scientific nonsense!
GMO death is what it should be called.
0:24 Right off the bat you claim soy is a complete protein. *Attention* all plants have a complete amino acid profile meaning from a strawberry to a carrot, from beans to lettuce, they all have complete proteins. Gelatin is not a "complete" protein....
0:45 there is no evidence proving that whey is better for muscle building than soy. You can link me
I would recommend people avoid protein isolates of all forms and stick to whole plant foods. Generally speaking, whole plant foods are very nutrient dense, low-fat, and *not* very calorically dense. They are loaded with fiber and antinutrients. You shouldn't be afraid of fiber or "anti-nutrients", it's like being afraid of antioxidants. Do your research...
Another thing to research is phytoestrogens. Plant estrogens have anti estrogenic like effects and improve menopausal symptoms. Where as the *mammalian estrogen* found in all dairy products and meat and eggs will raise estrogen, and for men lower their testosterone too. so next time you avoid eating tofu because of phytoestrogens, and instead you decide to go for the chicken you are doing the exact opposite of what you should be doing...
Understand that I used to believe every myth perpetuated in this video. Please do your own research. There really isn't as much controversy and confusion about nutrition as the media makes it out to be...
whey protein has been proven to be better for muscle growth as soy protein. look it up yourself. doesnt mean soy is a good source of protein. im vegan myself so praise the lord that soy protein powder exists.
furthermore soy is a whole protein as in it contains all the needed amino acids. ITS IN FACT THE ONLY PLANT BASED PROTEIN SOURCE TO CONTAIN ALL AMINO ACIDS needed by humans.
almonds, chickpeas etc are ofcourse still good. a good diet is a balanced diet imo
www.healthline.com/nutrition/soy-protein-good-or-bad#drawbacks
*"Attention all plants have a complete amino acid profile meaning from a strawberry to a carrot, from beans to lettuce, they all have complete proteins"*
Attention, You're wrong. Look at amino-acids profile in USDA database and calculate. Most plant based sources of protein lacks leucine and most legumes lacks methionine. That's a fact.
*there is no evidence proving that whey is better for muscle building than soy. You can link me*
Yes, there are evidences. Look at metrics like Protein Efficiency Ratio (PER), Biological Value (BV), Net Protein Utilization (NPU), Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score (PDCAAS). *Do Your research*
*and not very calorically dense*
20g of complete protein from plant based food is about 500kcal (after calculation based on above metrics). 20g of complete protein from animal based food is about 70-100kcal.
*low-fat*
Fat is essential nutrient for hormonal balance.
*"Where as the mammalian estrogen found in all dairy products and meat and eggs will raise estrogen, and for men lower their testosterone too"*
There is no evidence for this claims. "You can link me".
*"Understand that I used to believe every myth perpetuated in this video. Please do your own research. There really isn't as much controversy and confusion about nutrition as the media makes it out to be..."*
So, where to start doing this research? Your sources?
Soy protein isolate helped me lose a lot of weight which improved my health markedly. I also supplement - like B12. But I also eat whole plant based foods beside that 2.
if in doubt keep away huh?
You didn't talk about the most important thing..and it is GMO.
Good for women. Us men rather eat a fucking steak!
Bet you all have gas with all these things!
🙌🏻👏🏻🎉
Soy is basically Trump, too much controversial.
It’s GMO. 98% of it.
Who cares? GMO have been found by study after study to be safe.
That’s 100% false. Infact the complete opposite .
Not organic soy. Just make sure it's organic. Also, some products that aren't organic will let you know on the package if they are "GMO Free."
Oh Sean... Do you realize who eats this gmo soy? Cows Sean, that who. Which means if you eat any mass produced meat that you eat gmo soy in concentrated amounts. What is this?! Sean eats grass fed organic belly rub and back massaged beef?!?!? Well then any time you have ever eaten you you likely consumed that cheaper soy beef. Yep, you get concentrated amounts of environmental pollutants, antibiotics, sex hormones, cortisol, cholesterol, TMAO's, THE LOT SEAN!
Anyways Sean... Keep up the good work, promoting old myths so we can repeatedly bust em'.
Alkan's Bot a myth? 98% of soy is gmo, that’s all I stated and it’s 100% true. Eat what you want , I won’t be eating any soy and as little non organic as possible.
