- STORY
After Cassie Dalton gave the Sole Survivor the land that once belonged to her family, she decided to use it to gain a foothold back for settlers in the Northern regions of Far Harbor. With shopping, entertainment, maintenance facilities and a healthy amount of resources this settlement brings hope to a once desolate landscape.
INFO
This build was done on Playstation 5 using the "Game of the Year" edition. No building mods were used in this build. The only extra content I have installed are Creation Club skins which you will see on armor, clothing and weapons.

A consistent way to clear the weather is a good way to make building in Far Harbor bearable. I always loved the pine trees that made a great rural feeling but also a change of scenery from the usual commonwealth dead flora. Coastal settlements such as Egret, Spectacle, and Croup Manor do not have the beautiful island view of Dalton Farm, and its a genius design choice to add the glass walls to highlight it. I also liked the fact that you didn't condensed the build, but rather gave space between the buildings.
Thanks! Sorry for not replying sooner. Really appreciate you watching and commenting. :). I love featuring nature views in this game and Dalton was an ideal place to do it!
I can't imagine how much scavenging, looting, and purchasing you did in order to get all those assets as well as all the materials to build the actual settlements!! Your attention to detail is amazing and the amount of planning and thought that went in to your builds must have been massive!
I do like building at Dalton Farm just because of the placement on water. It's a challenge and rewarding. But the enemy spawn attacks can be brutal and drawn out! Of course that can be said about all the settlements in Far Harbor. But I think Dalton Farm is the worst!
Again, thank you for all your hard work! This was very enjoyable.
I absolutely love the bus being blended into the clothing shop. I can’t wait for the next gen release so I can try to make a genuine settlement instead of a simple home for my character. Thank you for all of the inspiration!!
Thank you for watching and commenting! I love using the bus when I can.
I wish they would have given us one of the buses with the back end torn off. It feels like it would have a lot more uses and better ability to barnacle off of it. I like using the ones we have but they always feel limited in what I can do with them.
In any case, I'm sold again, even if I don't want to be, you just serve everything so simply yet so powerfully! Keep going!
Thank you for watching and commenting. Much appreciated. :)
I love the layout and the way everything looks
Thank you! :)
Thanks for the video. I was late to the game due to computer processing constraints and appreciate the inspiration.
Thank you for watching! :)
Very late, but damn... this one of the best if not best Settlement Build i have ever seen.
Thanks for this. It’s given me some heart and ideas to do dockside stores, bar, housing and farm. Also that can be applied to Nordhagen. Nice build 👍
Thank you so much for watching! I'm so happy my build gave you some ideas. :)
Bro your video are sooo deep, incredible immersion!!Both on sound views
Thank you so much for watching and writing! I appreciate the kind words. :)
@@BWTF_Ben kind words and terrible English
Such interesting shapes and material combinations! This is fantastic! And decoration work is just chef's kiss
Absolutely amazing building. The details and the fitment of structures is incredible
I have a new sub named PapaWolf who said they found me because of your recommendation. I'll have to buy you a sweet roll as a reward next time we're in Vault 81.
Yep! I told him I have your video to thank for some of my Murkwater build (putting a roof on the structure there etc.). I always credit where appropriate. :)
The crusty crab I mean musty mirelurk is a nice touch. Watching these builds makes me wish I had the patience. Everything I build looks like concrete boxes. I wish I had more options than the junky wood structures or bland concrete boxes that make creating multiple room dwellings nearly impossible. I even use mods but I can’t find one with decent wall textures or anything that resembles a house. Guess I need to lower my standards and stick to the head cannon that it’s post apocalyptic and all we have is junk to build with.
I've seen some modded builds that are very "clean" but still look post-apocalyptic scifi. I'm afraid I don't know their names, but they're out there.
Woody's Wasteland Stuff on Nexus Mods may be useful for you. It includes windows and stairs in a rustic, hand-built look without looking too much for Fallout lore. You can mix it up with vanilla material in line with Benson Lee's aesthetics to give it that lived-in feel.
@@GarrisonFall I’ll definitely check it out. I’m currently playing Skyrim for the first time so when I’m done I’ll check out woody’s mod. I don’t care too much about lore since it’s my wasteland and in my wasteland we do things a bit differently lol.
The moment you said 'settlement' and 'Far Harbor' I immediately thought Preston would jump out and say this place is in danger and I need to help. I haven't been to Far Harbor yet.
cool man! love your builds and its very calmig for me to watch your tours around them! i still to this day love playing fallout 4 on almost daily basis and sometimes i feel weird about the fact that i do it for so long;) thanks for the inspiration and making me fell less weird (i mean that in a good way:))!
No reason to feel weird playing a game you love.
There is still quite a robust community around Fallout 4, and they're even doing a Next Gen update some time this year. It's definitely still very popular!
@@BWTF_Ben Fingers crossed the new updates don't break any of our favorite build tricks and glitches. Heaven forbid someone decides they need to update it to 76 mechanics.
@@theinsaneshecklador6598 You make a good point. If they say "fix" the camp fire glitch my builds are going to look VERY different. :(
Don't feel weird! I'm right there with you.
SWeet! A new built. Looks great man.
Thank you!
this game just keeps on giving! hopefully someone makes a mod for a Fallout planet in Starfield! the building in starfield doesn't seem as "homey" for lack of a better term. there's just something about the fallout settlement building system that's so darn cool, it feels like a real place when you see your settlers cutting loose after a long days work having a drink at the bar interacting with one another for the first time
Great job as usual
Thank you Mauro!
Fantastic build(s)!
No blog post on this one?
0:40 Far Harbor is a beautiful place when the sun is out. It's a shame they didn't let us clear the fog as part of the Harbor faction ending.
3:22 In future Far Harbor builds it might make sense to use a pressure plate. Likely easier to target when your HUD is turned off.
5:50 I like the little rooftop patio and covered area.
8:30 How many switches do you have? Good idea to not rely on one.
8:40 yes. 8:42 Yes. 8:44 YES. 8:47 OK!
9:02 Did you group select those gun racks through the floor or snap them in. I swear I feel like those gun racks will snap right through anything. I love em.
9:18 I'm not sure I'd want to use that workbench. It looks like a bit of an ankle biter.
12:37 That's a good lookin store.
15:07 Dupe glitch on the small Quantums?
17:58 Heretic! Burn her!!
18:42 Atmosphere is spot on. Probably even more so at night.
25:40 Looks like the doc put some jagged metal poking out into the doorway to guarantee some extra business every time someone enters.
32:41 I love the use of the boxcar door. The orange and blue always give a nice color pop. I hope you set it in the open position before placing it there..... Damn settlers and all.
33:23 Those turrets must be on watch for EZE and his pirate ship.
34:40 Out of all your patreons Fish Sauce has gotta be the one most responsible for helping this build.
Nice job with this place!
I do feel like there may have been a missed opportunity for one of the shops. Some sort of pun involving seize/seas. Feed store named Seas The Hay? Seas the hull by the corns? ....I don't know, maybe it's better not to use a seas pun if those are the best store ideas I can come up with.
Hi Sheck! Thanks for watching and commenting as always.
I do plan to do a blog post. I've had some IRL issues going on recently that are demanding my attention. Hopefully I can do it in the next week or two.
I like the pressure plate idea! I'll give that a shot if I do a "Longfellows 2.0".
There are at least 4-5 switches spread throughout. I did a "practice" tour before recording and tried to space them out roughly by when the storms tended to come in. I think it mostly worked out. :)
The gun racks were all snapped in. They're super useful!
No need for a dupe glitch on the tiny Quantums. They respawn pretty quickly. I had to rescue Synths from the Fort several times so I just saved them up.
Re: the boxcar door, you and I thought alike on that one. I was actually thinking of how Sar would open a door then glitch it into a frame. I built the door, "opened" it then glitched it into place.
If I wasn't going over the build limit like crazy already I would have put MORE turrets. I swear the enemies that attack Dalton are *insanely* powerful compared to any other settlement I have.
You're right about the punny names. By the time I thought of doing them the settlement began to become unstable so I had to stop adding objects. At least I squeezed in "Docs on the Dock". :D
@@BWTF_Ben I forgot they respawn. Thanks for the reminder.
I'll check back for the blog link in a couple weeks.
8:40 (...)
Branches, branches everywhere ...
Not one Shop-boy to clean that ?
Or elsewhere ?
👀
Deserves more views!
Would love to see a settlement defense!
Only 1 cat bowl ?? Also you should put them up on the counter as that's where cats usually end up.😁
Great bldgs throughout and I love their placement. Great work... Dalton Farm is one of my favorites to build on.
There are actually two, one is on the Nuka World themed dock bar. However, they seem to favor the one in the house - which is weird. I spread them apart on purpose hoping the cats would evenly split up between the two. I like the idea of putting one on a table. I need to do that next time! :) Thx for watching and commenting as always!
@@BWTF_Ben I had about 12 cats on my Sunshine co-op build and placed about 4 cat bowls in 3 different areas. They all were visited pretty evenly.
Another fantastic build! I'm unfortunately playing on the PS4 and can't build this much without maxxing out my build meter. I'm totally "borrowing" that clothing store though.
This build represents 3 maxed out build meters. I'm pretty sure on a PS4 it would have crashed much sooner and the video would have been choppier.
Are you aware of the settlement size glitch to over ride the build meter? Or are you saying once you've bypassed the meter restriction it gets too laggy before you can finish building as much as you want to?
@@theinsaneshecklador6598 I do know how to do the size glitch, but Far Harbor in general is so laggy for me that I don't dare do it there. I just built a PC so hopefully that won't be a problem on my second play-through.
@@richprobst1699 👍
Would you do a coastal cottage build? That place is a nightmare.
It’s on the “to do” list. :)
Just wondering, are you planning on making a video of your build on Red Rocket Station? (The one near Sanctuary)
Thanks for asking. :) I've tried to do a video a couple times but the settlement is so overwhelming memory-wise it just crashes before I can finish the recording. :( You can see my blog and gallery on it here: www.wonkosgeekery.com/blog/fallout4/fallout-4-red-rocket2. I just started a new play through so I may try to rebuild it using similar ideas. I have to choose between Sanctuary, Abernathy and Red Rocket. Even a PS5 can't seem to handle all three being built up in the same area.
@@BWTF_Ben Dang, I guess the PS5 can only take that much memory to run all those amazing builds at once ;-;
Thank you for the images though! It looks amazing!
How do you glitch mattress into sofas so they count as a bed?
I learned the method from The Insane Shecklador. Check out his awesome video here: ruclips.net/video/VX4okcguBqI/видео.html
The first trapper settlement spawn was on the dock where you put your hospital
Great build ...but... uh... how did you handle that respawing 4000-Defense Enraged Fog Crawler?
Thanks! Honestly in all the hours I worked on this build I never encountered the Enraged Fog Crawler! Looks like I got lucky!
@@BWTF_Ben Glad for it. I had that issue. My next one (#11 slow as I've been going) will be County Crossing.
Do you know if all these building glitches work still if they do I’m definitely going to build this.
had some trouble trying to use some of them in one of my previous builds
How do you not run out of space with everything you squeezed in?
Hi, excuse me i was just curious to know how you make like colors lights or make appears the bus in vanilla, with command? Wich one?
The Cycling Light bulb comes from the Contraptions DLC. The Bus is from the Wasteland Workshop DLC. :)
ok thanks, I didnt know there was dlc that provides some elements for building@@BWTF_Ben
Do you have a spectacle island build?
Not yet, it's on the "to do" list. :)
@@BWTF_Ben super exciting!! I just got back into building and really love what you’ve done, it’s very encouraging. Can’t wait to see whatever else you put out!
"No building mods were used in this build" uses creation club mods, like bruh no mods mean 0 MODS, its a nice build though
No BUILDING mods were used in this build. That does not count skins, and I am very transparent about that. None of the objects used in this build are from the CC. If you see something you think is from the CC on a building - please be specific.
New to your channel. Love how you do your tours. Admire your building and glitching techniques. Would love to see how you work your electric cause your conduits are hidden well. And placing all those items! Kudos. I so love building and am constantly looking for new ways. My FO4 channel is Heavens Avenger. Again. Terrific build.
