Fallout 4: Scrappy Wasteland Shack House Build - NO BUILDING MODS

- Опубликовано: 9 авг 2022
- My second build video focuses on the creation of a Scrappy style Shack House in the Wasteland. This video highlights some of the glitches I rely on in all my builds including the pillar, rug and camp fire glitches. Some sections of this video are sped up for expedience. This build is done on the Playstation 5 using the "Fallout 4 Game of the Year" edition with no building mods. I do however have Creation Club creations installed, so you will see Creation Club items in the build menus (but I do not use them in this build), clothing items and skins.

UPDATE (8/14/22): In The Insane Shecklador's video here: • FALLOUT 4 Snapping a d... he notes that the metal doorway snapping in the way it does in this video is rather uncommon, something I did not quite pick up on previously (but should have). He has a bit of a workaround, but I have found that this varies widely depending on where you are. At County Crossing (where this build takes place) I have no issues doing it, but at say Coastal Cottage or Tenpines it does not snap quite like that (or maybe I needed to fiddle more). The pillar/camp fire glitch is a perfectly good alternative to this if you can't get it to snap. Thanks Sheck for the heads up on this! Развлечения
This was really great. Watching videos of huge impressive settlements is cool but I never know how I would even begin to build like that. This video was incredibly helpful 👍
Getting started is usually the hardest part! I've stared at many a settlement helplessly until the "spark" hits then it's like a marathon! :)
You talk clear, you explain everything to the T, and you aren’t boring! Subscribed😁
Been building in Fallout 4 since release day. Just learned for the first time that wood prefabs snap inside scaffolding bases. Life-changing.
Thank you for watching and commenting! I hope this adds a fun avenue for you to take in your builds. :)
Likewise. I've been annoyed with the prefabs because I couldn't use them on shack foundations. 6 years later, I found out... D'oh! 🙄
Playing for years to finally learn about the Camp fire Glitch- I need to test it later ingame! Thanks
Damn, I never knew about the campfire properties. That would have been super helpful before QWAPA came out.
Another person here to comment on the CAMPFIRE GLITCH!!! Been playing since release. Had no idea. Game changer.
Really loved this scrappy, irregular house. I'm gonna watch the tour again just because. So good!
@@saiyaness22 Thank you for watching and commenting! The camp fire glitch is a crucial part of my building. :)
I particularly appreciate the demonstration of working with triangular concrete floors, and glitching different walls in to achieve those blended effects! It definitely illuminates how you accomplished certain structures in your other video tours.
Thank you for watching and commenting! Part of the reason I even created this video was to show people the methods I apply in all my builds. I am so happy you picked up on that. :)
It never occurred to me how useful campfire glitch was, I'll have to try out some of those examples. the brahmin pen for hanging garden is such a cool idea too. hanging lanterns are such a easy way to add some charm to any build
Also I 100% agree with the building design philosophy, you hit on all the points.
Edit: also pretty cool to see a "in progress type" build, very informative.
The fire / pillar glitch is place anywhere (almost) for vanilla.
It can be a fiddly to work with. 2 main keys to keep in mind is the rock portion of the fire is the part that lets you sink (you cant sink a pillar in the central fire part of the fire) and the fire only likes to sink through the surface it's directly sitting on. If there are other things in the way, or a floor is two layers thick it likely wont work. I have some other tips and examples on my page. The "Bridging the gaps" vid is probably my best attempt to explain some of the oddities of working with the fire but there are some other vids with more info.
Funny thing about the Brahmin pen for the window box - I'm not sure I'd do it long term at a settlement since inevitably there will be a floating Brahmin eating out of it! :D But for something like this just to show off? I think it works great!
Glad you enjoyed the build video. Believe it or not, it was inspired in part by someone not believing that I don't use mods so I figured I'd showcase my style and methods. :)
@@theinsaneshecklador6598 Your videos on it are invaluable!
@@BWTF_Ben I thought brahmin were tied to the settlement recruitment beacon. I'm not sure new brahmin can appear unless it's turned on.
I've used them as planters occasionally and will often glitch in a couple of the rugs that look like dirt.
I do tend to keep settlers to a minimum, or not at all, so my experience with brahmin is limited and could be *waaaaaaaay* off.
My ass couldn’t build a shack and here we have some talented people to help us with that keep it up man
Nice work getting that inverted corner piece in there; that thing is a fiddly mf to work with. A delightfully scrappy build here. You love to see it. ;)
Holy cow, thank you so much for commenting Sar. No lie, if it weren't for your streams I'd probably still be building giant wood boxes. Having one of the builders who most influenced me comment on my build video does me a great honor. Thank you!
@@BWTF_Ben haha Keep talkin like that and I'm gonna get an ego goin, mister. :P Didn't even know you were makin videos. Looking good up in here for sure.👍
@@SarDeliac You would have more than earned it! I mostly have tour videos but a combination of someone not believing my builds are no mods and the request of a couple others online led to the two build videos I do have. I now have ideas for at least two more I may do in the future. :) Thanks so much again for your kind words.
that campfire glitch omggg yess thats genius
It's super useful!
I love how Cait shut the door in your face...lol
Actually you'll love this - I did it to myself by accident. :D
At 1:22 I love how he uses the ominous "New Quest" sound when just picturing a steel pillar and a campfire 😆. Great, concise video.
I thought fans would get a kick out of that sound being used at each phase. :) Thanks for watching!
I like the little cappy guy on top of the door
Hundreds of builds and I just realized the wood prefab floor parts fit into the scaffolding. Even more stuff is now open to me! Thanks. Great job, btw.
I went ahead and made this and learned a lot in the process. Up to now I've been making pretty much the same soul-less concrete bunkers lined with turrets in all my settlements. They may be at 100 happiness, but there's no life or backstory or character to them. You made me rethink not only how I do my settlements but how I play the game.
I have builders like Sardeliac, Skooled Zone, Insane Shecklador and norespawns (among many others) to thank for helping me develop a building style. When I started out I just built a lot of boxy things that snapped. I find it much more fun to build using glitches. :)
You have an extremely soothing voice. It adds a lot of character to a video that's already full of personality as far as design goes. Just subscribed.
Thank you for watching and the very kind comment! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. :)
Awesome tutorial! I wasn't aware of the campfire glitch - totally going to be making frequent use of that! 😁
I was smiling as soon as I saw the fire and pillar. Then started laughing when you brought up the Build Order Shenanigans.
Very cool build / tutorial video. Hopefully this is something that you will continue with.😁👍🖖
Imagine the settlers looking at the sole survivor build a campfire and somehow sticking a concrete pillar inside it's abyss while dropping a bunch of guns on the ground xD
@@orangesqueasy "Vault Dweller's are a strange bunch" - Everyone else in the Commonwealth.
Ah, you are a seasoned veteran of The Build. You probably knew everything I was going to do before I did it! Thanks for watching and commenting. :)
@@orangesqueasy "It just works." The Vault Dweller could be heard saying.
This is genuinely the most helpfull build tutorial I've ever seen. Like I knew about these glitches but I would never have thought to use them in the way you did! I'm so excited to build now! I always just snapped structures together I hadn't even considered layering walls and adding all these different items together!
Thank you so much for watching and the kind comments! I love hearing that my builds inspire ideas in others (as I gained inspiration and knowledge from others). :)
😮that's amazing! I've never seen a build video like this one. I learned a few new things I can't wait to try. Thank you!
You have a very good teaching style - the 'hows' and 'whys' plus clear, well paced instructions. I actually did think it was 'riveting', well, very engaging at least 😀. The campfire has solved a mystery for me.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and creativity.
Thank you kindly! I appreciate you watching and commenting. 🙏😊
This guy's slow talking reminds me of the narrator from the "do you know what makes YOU special" videos at the start of the game
That was an excellent tutorial build. The camp fire and pillar combination really allowed for some interesting elements to be incorporated and is most certainly a method I will be using on my next play. I also like the build order notes you mentioned, the irregularity of surface shapes and textures and use of various structure material. The final decoration and lighting was most impressive. The only thing I didn't understand was how it was powered as I didn't see any cabling or wiring but I assumed you have a fusion generator in another part of the settlement and somehow used conduits or something like that to get the site powered..but overall I "subbed" as you did an excellent job. I was very impressed. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for watching and writing such kind comments! I really appreciate it. You are correct, the generator is "off screen" (if you're facing the house, it's to the right towards the edge of the build area). I used the wire glitch to run power to conduits placed roughly in the four corners of the house (IIRC there is at least one under the porch area). That's my general methodology.
I ddn't know about the campfire. Thank you!
Very helpful, thank you. Between you and Skooled Zone I've come away with some invaluable insight. Now, providing my game doesn't strike me with the dreaded OKB glitch (playing on Series S) I anticipate a lot of joy building up some key settlements.
Thank you for watching and writing! Have fun building. :)
Can't believe this has 10k views but less than 500 likes.
Good job.
All these lil tricks are amazing Ben. Thank you
Thanks for watching and commenting! :) I really hope you found it all useful.
Love it Ben, great to see how you approach a build. I’ve (finally) fired up the Xbox and getting back into builds lol. Nice trick with the campfire, that’s a new one on me! Will give it a try 😊👍
Fun and setting fitting house!
Thank you for the cool comment and watching! :)
A wonderful scrappy build.
I would love to see you do a barnacle build next.
For those who don't know (though most all of the commentors here are familiar with this term), a barnacle build is where you build something while utilizing an already existing building.
For example, barnacling off the blasted-out house here in County Crossing.
Or off the movie screen at Starlight Drive-in.
This build is great.
I did a video on my channel about Boring Boxy Builds not having to be boring. But this has a great deal of character. It has a lot of flat sides, however, none of them are "boring". They hold visual interest.
Great work.
I also agree with Sheck that you should do Fallout 4 build streams. There has been a huge vacancy since SarDeliac retired.
You both have great ideas, skills, knowledge, and voices for it.
Speaking of voices, yours reminds me of film/videos that we would watch in class during my Junior High School/High School days. As well as episodes from The Learning Channel, when they actually had learn able content. Not the dreck they produce now. Orcthe Nature Channel; 'And this is how the raccoon is able to open trash can lids. Isn't he industrious?' 😎👍
In conclusion, wonderful work. Fun episode. I hope to see more Fallout Building episodes from you.
Be Excellent to each other and to yourself, and Party on. 🤘🎸😎🥳🌈
Thank you so much for watching and the super thoughtful comments! I usually use barnacl-ing here and there in my builds. Perhaps the one you'll see it most in is my Egret Tours Marina build out of necessity: ruclips.net/video/_K755nr5Obw/видео.html
I've subbed to your channel and I'll definitely spend some time going through your builds. Very interested to see what you have created!
It really is high compliment to me that anyone would want to hear me going on and on live about building. I'm definitely going to think about it since a couple people brought it up in comments (I've never done them before so I'd have to figure out how to begin with!). :D
@@BWTF_Ben You are deservedly welcome for the compliments.
You subbed to my channel? Thank you. 😊
I hope you enjoy yourself watching them. Very kind of you.
I have built using Xbox as well as PC. No Playstation, though. Don't have one. lol
I hope to see a stream soon. Once you figure out the logistics and such, of course. 👍👍
Be Excellent and Party on. 🤘🎸😎
Super cool video! I’m definitely going to use some of these ideas in my current build at Coastal Cottage. I do use mods, but even still I can’t get things to go exactly where I want them.
Very helpful for the uneven and mixed design elements. Use of glitches is nice to show how to semi-snap parts together, as well as how to sequence pieces.
I also love doing it on a PS5/PS4, since that guarantees the most restrictions on mods/broadest audience possible.
For an advanced design video, I think deconstructing how Abernathy Farms house or Finch Farms house were built and decorated are the best targets. Very clearly more than a two-person shack like in Oberlin, Tenpines, etc.
You are a natural teacher. Very helpful ideas. Thanku
Most kind. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Brilliant! ✨🤗✨ And the “select all with a rug” thing…oh my friend, THAT is so helpful. I can’t believe I’ve never thought of that before. I’ve just struggled along trying to get the rug in places it won’t go, with a healthy dose of colorful language accompanying the endeavor. 😋 - Then at one point, I was watching hyper-intently and then literally laughed out loud when you said “riveting stuff, isn’t it?” at 29:41 🤣 It kinda felt like I’d been caught staring. 🤣 Your final product was of course gorgeous as always. Your attention to detail and design just makes me smile every time. Thanks for your videos and all the inspiration you give. ✨🙏✨😁
Thank you for watching! I did try to make a point to build things that required multiple glitches that I rely on and that one is a great one. And I've used quite a bit of language myself while building. :D And yeah, those tiny pivots can get...tense. :D
Gotta admit - I was also actually riveted at this. Having done a ton of building, a lot of us can relate to the exacting placement parameters.
*aka: How f-ing finicky the game is. ;)
Stunning build my friend, you have a good eye for color and design.
Fantastic job with the lighting also. 👌
Thank you very much for watching! Very much appreciate you noting the little things like the lighting (which I agonize over in every build). :)
@@BWTF_Ben i can tell you put a lot of love in these builds and It definitely shows. 👍

OK this is an awesome video! I have been playing FO4 since it released & have never seen that campfire glitch! You blew my mind with that! Great video, keep up the great work! Liked & Subbed!
Thank you for watching and commenting! I learned the Camp Fire glitch from Sardeliac and The Insane Shecklador and it is (literally) a game changer. :)

Good work. Always nice to see a fellow builder using vanilla assets. I like the crappy looks of the house and I would love to borrow a few of your ideas to put in my blueprints.

thanks, I didn't know about the camp fire glitch.
Super useful! I thank Sardeliac and The Insane Shecklador for it. :)
You builds are amasing. Just found you. And i just started to play this game 😊
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
It's cool that you can do all that using glitches, but it's too much work. So thankful for "Place Everywhere" on my PC. You and the others that do these videos for the vanilla console are amazing.
Thanks for the watch and comment. :) The challenge is part of the fun for me though I do picture a time where I'll use mods to see what they have to offer. Perhaps the biggest thing I'm interested in is the ability to construct objects that are not in the vanilla menus but do appear in the game.
Wow I’m really impressed 👍 I’m gonna need upgrade some of my builds
Thank you kindly for watching and the compliment. It is very much appreciated!
That’s awesome. Definitely gave me some ideas…👍👍
I'm really glad to hear that! I was very fortunate to get a ton of inspiration from others and I love hearing that I can inspire ideas in fellow builders.
The rug/pillar/campfire glitch is the main reason I would allow the "place anywhere" mod in this sort of build exercise. It still preserves the original intent (without the migraine!!).
I know "Place Anywhere" is very useful (I've seen it in action in videos). However, part of the purpose of this video was to show the techniques I've used in my other builds. I've had people outright just say I'm lying and that I am using Mods. This demonstrates how I achieve some of my signature design elements without using mods. :)
Phase 2 :
"We need to build a wall"
Liked and subbed. I'm still fairly new to FO4, so I tend to build way too big, towers and walls, basic and out of place. I will start going for more "scrappy" and in setting.
Thank you kindly for watching and commenting! Whether you build big or scrappy etc. the most important thing is to have fun. :)
A nice trick for helping to position pieces easier is to lay some long conduit pieces between pillar and wall/item and use them to extend the reach of group select. Go pillar to conduit to item and you'll clear any uneven ground, making placement easier 🤟
Pillar to conduit to item is very useful. You can see me use it in my fire place build video. :)
@@BWTF_Ben it's a trick I have only just learned myself so thought to give it a mention. Sure will check out your other content buddy I'm a returning noob builder so all this stuff is amazing to me 🤟 the shack looked beautiful afterwards, nicely done 🙌
@@Jokertron3000 It's so fun being at the beginning and learning the tricks! Be sure to check out the builders I linked to above. You'll learn so much! I am really appreciative there is such a large community around an older game.
PLEEASE do a hangmans alley build. It's my favorite settlement and you're definitely my favorite fo4 builder bloke. Also I just want to see how a veteran settlement builder tackles arguably the most challenging build area
Want to hear something funny? I did a Hangman's Build a couple months ago and I'm not crazy about it. I meant for it to go one way and it kind of never "got there". That said, I may revisit it to see if it looks better to "fresh eyes". :)
@@BWTF_Ben would love to see it. Hangmans Alley is a challenge
Very nice shack! I would like to do something like this, but I'm too lazy with glitches. And that campfire glitch I really didn't know.
If you use mods I'm sure you could easily build this shack because you wouldn't need the glitches. Thank you for watching! :)
@@BWTF_Ben The thing is I'm still trying to get all achievements. So no mods for me.

Beautiful and cozy, I'm replicating it right now 😂
Thank you for watching and the kind words! I hope you enjoy the build.
Loving the build as a fellow vanilla purist... Really like the post apocalyptic style but it feels a little odd when you can build complex teleportation device, nuclear reactor power plant, industrial water purifier and yet there's a wall with a giant hole on it. Like come on Bethesda... Its the reason i make one settlement with "scavver" style and clean modern looks on another.
Genius!
Exelent...! Thank Your for this tutorial...!
No problem! Thank you for watching and commenting!
I use lots of build mods and I can still use some of these tricks👍
That's super cool to hear! I figure none of these tricks would be necessary with mods but I have no experience with them. I think one day I will, I'm just not there yet.
gread video , thank you
2:05 Idiot Savant as a builder? You're braver than me. That thing pops more often than a bowl of Rice Krispies when building. The sound would drive me insane..... Oh, wait a minute...
3:08 I do not use prefabs enough. I keep telling myself I need to change that but old habits die hard.
3:58 Diggin the added sound effect.
4:30 I looooooove using that wall that way. I almost never use it the correct way.
34:23 I don't think I could ever bring myself to put signs on that wall. I like the little chicken wire window too much. Of course with your big glass wall on the back a little chicken wire window seems a lot less important.
35:27 lol. At first I thought she slammed the door in your face but then I remembered settlers can't close doors. Did you do that to yourself or did you use the trick of glitching an open door into the closed position? 35:39 Her opening it answers that question.
Great looking shack once it was all decorated.
I've really enjoyed watching your build action vids. Have you ever considered doing some build streams? SarDeliac left a gaping hole in that market when he moved on from Fo4 and your voice is very calming like his.
P.S. You inadvertently taught this old dog a new build trick today..... I'll give you three guesses.

Hi Sheck! Thanks for commenting. I had you in mind when I built this shack since critical lessons from you came into play! To your comments:
*I usually get Idiot Savant fairly early on to rank up faster so it's kind of a legacy artifact at this point. I think it only went off a couple of times. :)
*I love using prefabs as a core structure to build around. I wish the game had more of them!
*I was lucky someone on RUclips had it! :)
*I've used it the "intended" way once or twice but this time I wanted to have some fun. I did this at Graygarden too.
*I debated the signs but believe it or not, one of your videos (the 3 story tower one I think) really got the idea of overlapping signs in my head so I went for it.
*Nah, I totally closed the door on myself! Whoops.
I take it as high compliment that anyone would want to hear me drone on during a stream. :D Due to man factors I can't right now, but I won't dimiss the idea in the future.
A new trick? Honestly I'm at a loss! I kind of figure there's nothing in any of my videos you didn't already know (seriously!).
@@f4lloutgaymer You are too kind! I really appreciate that vote of confidence. :D
@@BWTF_Ben There's a ton about this game I don't know about. I keep learning new things all the time. I've learned more Fo4 tricks, tips, and general knowledge from others on YT than I could ever hope to return to the community.
I hope any future "building" &/or "constructing" aspects of fallout games doesn't require voodoo or hocus pocus with the mechanics.
I think accessable loophole's for your settlement are convenient and cool.
But they also shouldn't be necessary.
😆 I tried de-constructing something (a few pieces I glitched in) for a small change I wanted to make... & just like a Jenga tower coming down, everything fell apart. It needed like 20 min. of work to fix. So, I said f*** it and just reloaded.
I've been playin Fallout 4 forever, but tell me why I've never thought to place a scaffold frame first and then an outer cap piece? I always place the cap/balcony first then have to glitch something in under it for support. Learn somethin new every day. Thanks for the videos, I'm glad I'm not alone in still playin Fallout 4.
Dude! Now picket fencing for handrails? So awesome! I've never thought of that!
Be warned. The doorway snapping is inconsistent. It worked no problem at County Crossing, but at Oberland it was super finicky. The Insane Shecklador did a couple videos on it.
Thanks or the tips on building.
This gets a like for teaching me three new things ^-^
Thank you so much for watching and liking!

Thank you for watching! I owe anything resembling good building to many builders before me who I learned from such as The Skooled Zone, Sardeliac, norespawns and The Insane Shecklador. :) Check them out.

Thank you kindly for watching and commenting! I hope you enjoyed building the house in your own game. :)
I am still wondering where you get the power to run all the lights, radio and tv from, but i did like the video, gave me lots of ideas
In this particular build there is a generator off to the side (out of frame) and I ran wires from it underground to power conduits at the shack itself. I usually use a variety of tricks to hide them including glitching furniture over them or just hiding them behind a wall. :)
26:52 how did you manage to put away that rug when it was so deeply buried in the ground? I swear that never happens for me, once you've sunk them you've lost them. Nice build, lots of cool ideas, I always like to mix some stuff up but you used a couple of options I never thought of before. I rarely use the fire glitch, it always seems too clunky when I go for it. End result is looking cool.
+1 Yeah, being able to store the buried rug blew my mind, too.
9 out of 10 times I kiss those rugs goodbye, I was shocked that it let me recover it. :)
Приветствую! Как ты во время перемещения объектов (режим строительства) их поднимаешь и опускаешь, а так же отдаляешь от себя и приближаешь?
How did you get your door to snap in place. I’m on the xbox one and it won’t snap in between the floors
The fascinating thing is - it all depends on which settlement you're at and where. The Insane Shecklador did a video where he went to different settlements to test it out. Check it out!
At 32.50 what item have you used for a window planter? Its a lovely little touch! Great job
It would be nice if they had wooden material that’s not holy or rugged could make a actual house or mansion that would be pretty cool
👍
This whole video was amazing learnt so much. But how the F did he get the door way to snap in the middle of the 2 floors? May sound dumb but it's never snapped between 2 floors for me, even on a prefab floor and roof. Referring to 4:16 in.
Thanks for watching and commenting! The Insane Shecklador did a video about this (with a follow up video in the comments in his video). The short answer is: it is inconsistent from one Settlement to another. At County Crossing where I did this video the snap worked, but elsewhere it did not. Check this out: ruclips.net/video/Dd23-i6J_0Q/видео.htmlsi=Qv9pP_1mNyoIT6Ye
@@BWTF_Ben thanks I appreciate it. I had no idea.
I know this is an old video, but how did you put the door on so effortlessly 4:20
It's an interesting question, and a bit of a mystery that became the subject of conversation after I published this video. Check out the Insane Shecklador's channel. He followed up on my video here with his own showing that depending on the settlement and the location of the settlement, the doorway may or may not snap! In County Crossing (used in this video) it snaps. But say at Oberland Station (I think) it doesn't. It's really odd!
How did you run power through this build ?
There's a generator off to the side and I used the wire glitch to run power conduits under the structure. :)
how do one get those scaffolds?
They are part of the Contraptions Workshop DLC. :)
Are you on pc?! Im currently in my playthrough (who knows what number) hopefully this time ill actually finish the whole story. Anyways is the rug glitch still doable i havent been able to it for the past couple of days
great video subbbing playing new charactor junk jet going to nuka world on survival level 8
Thank you kindly!
That will be a fun playthrough. Any limits on the junk you can use (like only empty bottles or something) or is all junk legal?
Great looks but might get cold
Love the build, in general.
One thing bugs me a lot, and it would have even if you hadn't mentioned this as one of the three core building principles you were following... but having said that in the beginning, it makes it bug me that much more. You have zero structural support for the roof over the porch!
Second minor quibble, and this isn't a big deal, just something I noticed - this house has no way to permanently close itself off from the outside to protect from the elements or raiders or etc. The balcony is just always open.
Thanks for watching Ken. Re: the roof structure over the porch, that was on purpose. I recently passed by a building that had a similar "overhang" stretching out in front with no poles supporting it. My guess is there are horizontal metal rods built into it that hold it in place, so this emulated that look.
Regarding your second point, you could in your own build use a different wall piece that's completely closed off. Builder's discretion. :)
@@BWTF_Ben There are certainly a ton of ways to basically 'internally support' or rig a roof like that. But not many believable within the realms of a wasteland dwelling... none that wouldn't be pulling the wall it is attached to down. I figured it was intentional. And I figured it was being assumed to be supported by the wall it is on. But that doesn't make it bug me any less, lol.
I hope you can help. I am trying to build this project and the door will not snap on to the structure the way it does for you. I have tried removing the front wood floor and then placing the door and then the floor again and no go. I tried the pillar thing no go the door wants to always snap to a floor edge. How did you get it to snap? Without it I can't do this build. I am so frustrated you make it look so easy. I just don't know what I am doing wrong. It looks like the door in your video sinks a bit but it goes green. Not a chance for me.
It turns out that the door will snap on depending on what location you're at. Turns out at County Crossing in that spot it snaps, but at some other places it doesn't! The Insane Shecklador did a video on this. If you cannot get it to snap, I would use the camp fire glitch with the pillar glitch to get the doorway in place.
@@BWTF_Ben It does not snap at County Crossing either so will use the campfire and pillar glitch to get it in. Thanks,
@@stuartoakley4784 It may be situational, not sure. Check out Sheck's video on it here: ruclips.net/video/Dd23-i6J_0Q/видео.htmlsi=PIRF7CjB8DOBJmD9
@@BWTF_Ben Thanks. I too am building at Sanctuary and raising the whole structure did allow me to snap the metal door. I have taken this project as far as I can. Because I am building on a concrete pad I can't add the scrap walls they won't sink even trying to use the campfire. I have tried for almost an hour now to get the triangle floor to glitch in to make an angled roof and there is no way it will work for me. I have the campfire set where you have it and the pillar positioned as you do but it won't turn green unless I am well above the walls. It won't sink nicely like your does. I can't get it positioned to work so am giving up on this. It was a great tutorial though and I appreciate the time it took you to make this. Some of what you did I was able to replicate but there is no way to finish the roof. Very disappointed as I was looking forward to finishing it and furnishing the place. Cheers Benson.
@@stuartoakley4784 I’m sorry to hear that. I’ve done that corner roof thing a few times. Surprised it’s not working. :(
You sound like Marty Stouffer from Wild America.
Where did you put the generator
The generator is "off screen" by a tree and I just used the wire glitch to run conduits around the shack to power the lights. :)
@@BWTF_Ben oh cool
love your videos my guy I have a couple settlement videos if you wanna check out what I have done, my castle idea was pretty good but I never finished but phase 1 is on my channel that I think is alot more interesting than I have seeen anyone else do.
Good content. Trade me voices.
Benson's voice is almost as -buttery- _nipple buttery_ smooth as Sar's.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
I would call it riveting if you were doing some riveting!!
Ha! If only that were an option!
@@BWTF_Ben I know right?! Maybe it’ll come with this update I’m hearing so much about 😂
Is this a mod ??
No building mods were used in this build.
i play fallout 4 offline , and download videos at mcds i have no internet ..i hate online gaming
I can't place the metal door, since I've started playing I've had problems like this, I did everything exactly as shown in the tutorial, can someone tell me what I might be doing wrong?
10:08 How do you move the structures without making the character move? I tried every button combinations but I never managed to do that.
Check out Skooled Zone's video. He explains this around 6:36: ruclips.net/video/sDza5oblD1g/видео.html
@@BWTF_Ben Thanks a lot!
Ok so that's fine for one person. But, where are you going to put everyone else?
You could've attached the ends to balcony then attach balcony. :)
Unfortunately that also does not work. I'm building at Dalton Farm now and I created a balcony piece and tried to attach those pieces to the sides and they won't snap there. They snap to the back however.
