Defensor was the only combiner I had as a kid, but because I didn't have an Optimus I used Defensor as my Autobot commander. Well he WAS the biggest 'bot I had- although when I put him against Overlord, he barely came to the 'con's hip!
This was my favorite combiner set as a kid, even though scale was wildly off for the vehicles. For me, his combined mode looked the most like a single complete robot rather than a mix of 5 bots. Doesn't First Aid's legs extend a little more so Defensor's left arm is as long as his right?
I always thought it was funny how First-Aid was portrayed as a pacifist but the alt mode for his toy has two massive cannons over the roof. The fact that he is an ambulance makes the cannons look even funnier.
@Sportimus I'd imagine with the KOtoys logo at the begining.. and the statement, "this is the ko gift set you can get at places like kotoys.com" the place to get it might be..... Kotoys.com?
@peaugh yeah, I'm thinking so, after seeing the menasor review with you commenting about the light I'm assuming it's the contrast and the light making it look funny on video.
Hi Peaugh! Great review as ever. Do you know if there is anyway to tell them apart from the genuine vintage G1 set? Such as copyright stamps and the like? Only I've just shelled out on a set on ebay and would like to see if I've been suckered. Can you help?
I'm really excited for TFC Toys' Prometheus ( NOT-Defensor). Already got Gumball & Warning Line, Hydrant on the way in October! ;) Then TFC's First Response....
The label sheets are a touch and go affair. Sometimes cr@ppy sometimes on par with the originals. Also, check Streetwise's wheel rivets, it sucks compared to the original. seems like the ko guys haven't quite managed to "clone" them just right.
the difference is groove has a plastic pin cap on the back instaed of the whole metal pin for his feet ... also hot spot has flat screws not round, first aid has the holes o o then O O on the back bigger then the original also the chrome on groove is over chromed .. I LIKE THEN CAUSE THEY HAVE METAL CHEST,, IS A GOOD THING BUT THE PARTS DO FIT ON THE ORIGINALS
2 comments 1. One arm is definitely longer than the other. Any way to fix that? 2. Those guys must have strong necks, cuz their heads are the connector pins.
first aid isnt transformed right in combined mode. take his leg as if u were transformering him into robot. thenpush his legs in. that way his arms are even at the waist
its orginal mold from china. they have warehouses and have the molds to make this guys. they r not actually ko. just not made by hasbro. I have alot of this china ones. there great. just like the g1 transformers we got in the states. if u transformer them alot they will get lose.
Transformation of these brings memories from childhood. They are so G1.

I always thought it was weird to have a giant motorcycle for a foot, but that's G1 for you :)
What a great combiner!

your reviews are very very good and very well done
now i know were im going for my g1 combiners ^^

Hey Peaugh!
Guess what: 3 years ago I´ve bought these as KOs for 2 Bucks!!!
@BigLumpyTool yes you can extend the ambulance first aid as an arm if u keep him in robot mode
hot spot,first aid,hot shot,red alert,blades,groove,streetwise/streetwyse,prowl are the protectobots in the whole transformers uivserves

I just remembered that impersonating a police officer is a crime, so Streetwise and Prowl could be in trouble!
great video! do you have any other combiners? if so, can you make a video on them?
I have a original G1 Defensore, in my opion, still in good shape.

Where can we get these KO's? Nice review.

The colors look a lot brighter (IE hotspot doesn't look so powder blue). Is it really that way or just the contrast of the camera?
@TheSupercabin defensor was a 1986 release
hey brother question from new Zealand, got a picture of the box so we can see what's good and what isn't, are the ones from ioffer any good
Who is your fave of the limb bots min sas been and always will be first aid as he is a lot like me irl because I'm more of a pessimist too
awesome video hes a nice figure but watching this is making me wanna do my review of the k.o. wst Defensor .
@Lemniskaten Indeed, you are right. I always did that for First Aid's limb mode ;)
I found some Knock offs at Big Lots and I am going to redeco Hot Spot since he's red and not blue
I just got this today. REaly like it, but it doesn't seem to combine with Metroplex. Can you confirm?
mine had no hand guns. just the main one

looking at Hotspot i see in my head a custom RID Optimus Prime
So can you recommend this instead of getting the actually set?

I like this one better then Menasor.

How much do these sets cost?
Leave First Aid's feet folded out so that the arms are the same length.
hey peagh how much is he?
the only thing i don't like about him is that his arms aren't the same length
@trivialpanda I'd pick A Go-Bot Puzzler instead of both.
i got only streetwise that all
peaugh, how come your not a youtube partner? :(
is it just me or does defensors head look like bludgons?
@BigLumpyTool don't extend the helicopter
holy crap not 1 dislike
