man, I knew you'd end up loving the Lumix because over a year ago you went on a rant in a video talking about 'open gate would be great to see implemented' and then POOF. Love the changes brother, loving all the travel content on insta as well. Much love.
Do you still love your Lumix S5 II - or is Canon R8 the way to go? I have a Lumix G9 but would love a more hybrid camera with better AF and easier connection to the computer. R8 just seems like a great deal - while S5 II is a (unsexy?) work horse.
I noticed a really big upgrade in the IBIS when I paired it with a RF 24-70 glass instead my EF glasses + the adapter, might be something you want to consider. I couldn't find anything about it online but it seems the integration only works with RF glasses.
yeah the highly acclaimed 8 stop stabilisation is only with rf lenses, anything else is either 5 stop or much more even just 2 stops. i recently got the rf 24-70 for my r6 and the difference is immense plus that canon brought out updates tackling the shaky stabilisation at 18mm etc
How long ago was that wobbly footage shot and what firmware version are you on for the 15-35 + R5? I believe they mitigated the wobble issue in an update sometime last year
Nice on the gaff tape with the PD strap 😜 the lock is the stitching that runs across, but you may have to push it REALLY hard to get it across the stitching and become "locked"
The Kondor Blue HDMI adapter is really nice, the wireless solutions out there are good however I often find they have connection issues and can be a pain to set up. What do you use to monitor? I wonder if there is an actual monitoring app with all the pro features an actually video production monitor has.
Just to follow up on this. Have you tried plugging the SeeMo into the Mac? The M1 Macs let you install the iOS app so in theory you just be able to use that on a bigger screen for monitoring! I managed to do this with their wireless cineview transmitter in the past. Works fairly well but the wired connection would be better.
I don't know if anyone mentioned it in the comments, but I noticed you used "Perspective" in the Stabilization menu for stabilizing the footage. Try and use "Similarity" instead. Most often it comes out less wobbly.
Hey Tyler, I know a way you can solve your film point and shoot issue of not being able to over expose the roll. Look up how to manipulate DX codes on your film rolls, its super simple stuff anyone could do, and you can make your point and shoot camera "think" its got any ISO in it that you choose to tell it by altering the black and silver pattern on the side of the film cannister. Have fun and happy shooting.
You could get DX code stickers for the films going into the Yashica T4 to change the exposure. Just get the film developed at box speed and tell the lab you've compensated in camera already so they shouldn't change the times.
Yeah I wish the R5 shot open gate too. I find clog 1 tends to look better imho. Have you played with it much? Everyone says 3 has more DR but I can’t get it to look as nice…
I’ve shot clog 1 and 3 a lot and dislike them both. They were both and aid solutions for 8-bit cameras and are both a generation behind clog2, slog3, vlog, flog2, etc
Thanks for sharing! I do love it when videography youtubers talk about a great all-around camera, all-around lens, etc. and then we find out they’re still carrying 2 or 3 bags or gear worth several $x0,000s 😂
hope you pack some sunscreen for this trip outside !! I wonder if you'd love the Nikonos V 35mm camera? It's so great. That olive green one would slide right into your lineup so seamlessly.
ibis in canon is made great for photography, thats why the ibis is way superior up to 8 stops than other competition , if u r looking for a stable ibis for video then s5ii suit your needs
I would not be too keen on the purple HDMI cables from Kondor Blue. Those are the Gerald Undone edition and he has not the slightest idea how to design or test properly an HDMI cable.
I consider myself as a fan of yours , but i really think the real sponser of this video is Lumix ,and im pretty sure u dont really use this camera as your first option
Thanks for following! As I’ve mentioned, Panasonic did lend the camera, i probably wouldn’t have bought a Lumix without testing it, but now that it’s in my hands I would choose it over the R5 for video every time. For photos, Canon still wins.
The MC-21 adapter doesn't support continuous AF with Canon EF lenses, it's an intentional cripple. Absolute bonkers, so your setup won't work unfortunately.
Dude, why the narrow DOF on this video? It's really distracting to not be able to clearly see the gear. If you are artistically hell-bent on narrow DOF, I'd rather have the gear in focus than your (admittedly handsome) face.
Who cares about environmentalism ideology? If someone can afford or just likes leather, go for it, it's hard to find a better material. Nonsensical ideological BS results in way worse impact... better stop breathing -it's bad for the environment 😜
Everything has negative environmental impact. The 72 pieces of other gear he showed are each far worse than a piece of leather. But thanks for your single-issue hyperfocus.
Xcuse me but why would we care? Here in europe we cannot keep our jobs and have a serious inflation, prices are to the roof here and you are talking about going to places and choosing camera"s, like i said, why should we care?
the subtle Gerald Undone's intro melody😂👌
I was just going to mention that 😂
😂 So well timed
I was reading your comment and then I heard it.. pretty funny

That little Gerald sound was very sneaky. Nice one. All the other stuff is okay too.
Do you still love your Lumix S5 II - or is Canon R8 the way to go? I have a Lumix G9 but would love a more hybrid camera with better AF and easier connection to the computer. R8 just seems like a great deal - while S5 II is a (unsexy?) work horse.
it's the Gerald Undone sound for me 🤣iykyk
could u tlel us more about lumix, considering switching myself ... specifically looking for photo & video work
This video made me feel ready for my next travel! Haha thanks for sharing, cheers
Would welcome hearing your impressions of the Panasonic for still photography.
What camera would you choose, the Sony fx3 or the canon r6 mark 2? For documentary/vlog content, I also take pictures occasionally. Great Content.
If the focus is video rather than photo, definitely the Sony
Most high end stuff is out of my comfort zone but fun to watch.
I noticed a really big upgrade in the IBIS when I paired it with a RF 24-70 glass instead my EF glasses + the adapter, might be something you want to consider. I couldn't find anything about it online but it seems the integration only works with RF glasses.
Thanks for the tip, this was with the RF 15-35mm which is notoriously wobbly. I bet the 24-70 does better

Thanks for the gaffer tape idea, that wrist strap has been driving me crazy 😂

Thanks for the tip, Resolves stabilization is so much better than FCP or PP on any setting
Is the godox flash compatible with lumix s5ii?

Make sure and turn off the IBIS when using the 18mm F1.8 handheld as the IBIS is rated up to 20mm.
Specifically just the e-stabilization, and it still works below 20 but you have that chance of edge wobble
Diggin the Gerald Undone reference 😉
You could get DX code stickers for the films going into the Yashica T4 to change the exposure. Just get the film developed at box speed and tell the lab you've compensated in camera already so they shouldn't change the times.
Oh! Yeah I’ve heard about that, the forgot to pursue it. Great suggestion
Nice one! I like the look of new setup!
Can you use cast the image from Lumix (hdmi) to a iphone(usbc/lighting) ?
Yeah I wish the R5 shot open gate too. I find clog 1 tends to look better imho. Have you played with it much? Everyone says 3 has more DR but I can’t get it to look as nice…

Keep in mind, most of it is backup. I don’t need to use two cameras for most things, but I have had one body die while traveling
hope you pack some sunscreen for this trip outside !! I wonder if you'd love the Nikonos V 35mm camera? It's so great. That olive green one would slide right into your lineup so seamlessly.
You are one of the last non sponsored big RUclipsr that is holding on to Canon R5
I’ve noticed that the wait for the Pete McKinnon bag is super heavy. Have you ever had issues with carrying it on a plane?
I haven’t had a problem with it, but you’re right that it’s not the lightest bag
What happened to the Fuji stuff?
I own an X100 F but the Fuji review units have been sent back. I loved the X-H2s but the S5II has better value now
Thought I had a Gerald Undone video on in the background lol
You could get a usb-a to usb-c wire adapter instead of a direct adapter for the cam link
ibis in canon is made great for photography, thats why the ibis is way superior up to 8 stops than other competition , if u r looking for a stable ibis for video then s5ii suit your needs
Yes the canon ibis is amazing for photos, I still much prefer the R5 for stills
Awesome video.
Definitely interested to see what results you get.
I'd like your review of the Accsoon SeeMo when you get back!
Nice!!! Safe Travels!
Such a great video. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for this. Checking out the Mavic and Moment now
Looking forward to the video on your travels. I assume you’re using the same bag
I'd like to see a video if you do find a sling bag that works for you. Great video as always!
You can override the exposure even with full auto camera :) you need to change the barcode
Can you use the AirFly to monitor audios on my Sony A7iv with my airpods?
You sure can. I first heard about it from Corridor Crew using it for production
@@stalman Thanks!!!! That is such a game changer.
The Peak Design 3/6L is my go to sling
I was looking at that one, they make such solid quality bags
@@stalman they do, and they don’t scream gross camera sling either.
@@stalman also consider the Bellroy Venture Camera sling. A bit more understated and doesn’t scream camera bag, but maybe not as protective.
+1 for Bellroy
the kondor blue capture card is a great find. going to try that out to see how well it performs
Do you need a drone license for content?
did you forget the link to dji lav mics?
Thanks for the reminder! Just added it
the ibis wobble is just a deal breaker, just switched to sony hecause of that, add that with the death of 3rd party rf lenses
thats funny, I use the Shure mvl with the dji mics as well. never seen anyone use them
blows my mind that there is still no tether capability for lumix to Capture one....
I actually hadn’t tried that yet, crazy that it’s missing. Canon will still be my primary photo camera for the foreseeable future
Awesome video quality and content 😃
wonder how you fit all those stuffs mentioned in that backpack
I had to put the 70-200 in it’s own bag
i have that wrist-choking-circulation-cutting strap… theres a lock on it!!!!?? where? how???
I would not be too keen on the purple HDMI cables from Kondor Blue. Those are the Gerald Undone edition and he has not the slightest idea how to design or test properly an HDMI cable.
Nice Gerald nod.
Mucho love it!
gave the like just for the good Gerald beat
Also, good choices:)
How in the world are u fitting all of that into a camera bag and half!? 😮
TIM F FOR A CHANGE indeed
I consider myself as a fan of yours , but i really think the real sponser of this video is Lumix ,and im pretty sure u dont really use this camera as your first option

Fujifilm Klasse W, my dude.
I almost bought one years ago, now the price is through the roof
@@stalman for sure, but man… it’s really really good. Remind me to show you some stuff if you and I are in the same spot again soon 🤙🏼
first time i heard canon fan boy switching to lumix 🤔
That's A LOTTTT.....
Too much gear! 😂 lose the r5, the gimbal because you won’t need it with the lumix and pare back those lenses.
The MC-21 adapter doesn't support continuous AF with Canon EF lenses, it's an intentional cripple. Absolute bonkers, so your setup won't work unfortunately.
It does on the S5ii
First comment from Sri Lanka🇱🇰
You should build your own SSD’s!
"it's USB A.. WHO..USES..THAT."
😐

That watch is huge and so not that pretty, sorry not my style.
That’s ok, it’s not for everyone
I'm surprised that anyone would still buy something with leather, given it's negative environmental impact. Solid video.
Who cares about environmentalism ideology? If someone can afford or just likes leather, go for it, it's hard to find a better material. Nonsensical ideological BS results in way worse impact... better stop breathing -it's bad for the environment 😜
Good point, but other than wool or cotton straps, if they exist, rubber probably has petchems
Everything has negative environmental impact. The 72 pieces of other gear he showed are each far worse than a piece of leather. But thanks for your single-issue hyperfocus.
@@RangeWilson Last time I checked, metal and plastics didn't ever have nerve endings attached to it.

This video made me realize I’m camera gear poor 😢
