WB thinks Scrappy is some kind of evil thing though and try to shun the character which is weird when you think about it because WB has made far worse Scooby shows then anything from the Scrappy years. The new Velma show is worse then anything involving Scrappy and so was Shaggy and Scooby Doo get a clue.

      I know scrappy outlived his purpose as he was created to save the franchise from being cancelled completely but come on the pup is pretty awesome he defiantly has his fair share of positive qualities he's smart, he can make traps on his own, he's stronger than he looks and is quite independent. All the negativity needs to back off. After all the writers gave flim flam a chance to redeem himself and a much more positive role despite being even more unlikable than scrappy so why can't they do that for scrappy instead of making him the villain?

    • @boomstickcritique902

      @@Creepsome1Thats true which was weird since 13 Ghosts is one of the most loved Scooby shows and Scrappy was liked in the series but they brought back Flim Flam who has less fans then Scrappy. WB is weird when it comes to the Scrappy character they seem to believe he's like the most hated character of all time or something and that fans would revolt if they did a new movie with him as if little kids won't buy Scooby products that feature Scrappy LOL. Not to mention WB has made way way shows with Scooby then anything from the Scrappy years.

  • @mylesreiss3612
    @mylesreiss3612 Год назад +33

    There are some more references:
    The Scooby-doo project (a spoof on the Blair Witch Project). They somehow meet up with Scrappy, who somehow found them in the forest. Eventually, Scrappy splits up from the gang by giving chase to a supposed monster in the darkness, which prompts the gang to leave him there. Later, they hear Scrappy again and Daphne starts running. Velma tells her that it's just Scrappy-doo. To which Daphne says : "I know!!!"
    Scooby Apocalypse (a comic book series). It has Scrappy as an antihero and actually tries to develop him as a character and not as a joke. Ironically, he's considered one of the best things in this series and is technically more developed than the gang in Mystery Incorporated. At least his development doesn't revolve around a love interest.
    Scooby-doo and Guess Who? season 1 finale has Christian Slater saying: "I love to hear a dog talk, and you know I don't mean Scrappy".
    Scooby-doo Where are you now? (a 50th anniversary tribute, I guess) has the gang discussing that Scrappy "always made of Scooby in those AOL chat rooms".
    The new Velma show has a user bearing the name Scrappy79 on Norville's livestream.
    And finally, though its not Scooby-related, an episode of the Jellystone reboot has Scrappy featured in a milk carton. I like to pretend that it's a continuation of the meme that Scrappy wasn't found dead in Miami after all and that he somehow faked his death, preparing for a comeback. It makes me laugh a bit.
    And while I'm neutral on Scrappy's return, I do think the fuss about him is overblown and ruins the purpose of forgetting about him. Isn't it funny that "He-who-shall-not-be-named" has a TV trope named after him? I mean, he has been featured in every modern Scooby-doo media, except for Get a Clue! (we also don't talk about that) and Be Cool! (which is funny because they DID want to introduce him in an episode). He has had more exposition than the Hex Girls at this point.

    • @youdontknowsponge6218
      @youdontknowsponge6218 Год назад +5

      The hate is way overblown in WB mind most kids today don't even know who Scrappy is or only have a vague understanding of who he is. It's like WB thinks if they do a new movie or series that features him that fans wouldn't watch or buy it which is ridiculous since WB has put out far worse Scooby products then anything with Scrappy. I would take Scrappy a 100 times over Get a Clue and Velma.

    How they would solve and be the serious and courageous bunch. While I’d be looking at how adorable and admirable Scrappy was, trying to take the monster/culprit down while Scooby and Shaggy were afraid. He really added on to them. I also like that Scrappy never lose faith in Scooby. He always rooted for his uncle and believed that he was the bravest Great Dane in the world. Whenever Scooby would run away and/or take Scrappy and run, Scrappy just thought Scooby was trying to protect him and/or beat the monster by himself.
    I love that. I like to believe that Scooby loves Scrappy, a lot. (Considering he’s his Nephew.)

I know people want him in Smash, but he literally has no identity other than being one of many playable characters in sports, party, and racing games. If he can get a standout role in a game, then maybe; but his obnoxious fanboys pretty much turned any who were indifferent about Waluigi being in Smash against it with their uproar during the announcement! They came off as nothing more than ungrateful!

  • @SweetyMiki

    Scrappy never sucked. The problem was the older Scooby Doo fans hated it because they thought it was ruining a good show, mainly because they were getting old. Let's be real though, the original Scooby Doo was as good as flavored water with no sugar. Yeah it tastes okay, but it still cheap and not that good after the first 30 seconds. Yeah, I said it, Scooby Doo was boring after the first few episodes. It only got watchable because Scrappy actually tried to beat up the criminals, instead of the repetitive Scooby and Shaggy cowering in a corner like babies for the 20th time.

    I know it's a meta joke about the negative reception he got from the audience, but let's assume all of these Scooby Doo shows and films are canon and connected. That probably means that after Scrappy betrayed the gang and tried to kill them, the gang swore an oath to never mention or acknowledge him ever again. Thinking about it like that, it's a rather sad situation regarding the character.

    I feel like modern scooby doo B movies need scrappy doo, but have him continue being a punching bag for the rest of the gang

    "some thought scrappy to be annoying". No. EVERYBODY HATED HIM. That's why every reference is made making fun of him.

    I watched the show, when I was a kid in the 90s and early 2000s but I found Scrappy to be like Brainy Smurf. Annoying.
    Honestly, I would not want to see Scrappy Doo again. Plus I remember being pissed off as a kid when he made Dexter cry.

    The worst thing that could happen to Scrappy-Doo is if he gets co-opted by the extremist right and turned into a hate symbol like the swastika, Pepe the Frog, or The Punisher’s skull logo.
    That would cause WB to retire the character permanently, and all of the Scrappy-Doo episodes would be put in the same vault as The Star Wars Holiday Special (as well as the original theatrical editions of the Original Trilogy), Chris Benoit’s matches, and “Song of the South”. They’ll also try to memory hole him.

    5:29 I just want to make all you people aware I just looked it up about Scrappy and asked about Scrappy what happened to him in the statement ended with they will never show him in the light of day again they kicked him out because he was too independent as the video started and the hell that one guy said we're Scrappy Thelma simply replied what's a Scrappy and also how in mystery Incorporated Daphne looks at a statue of Scrappy and says oh my God and Fred simply walks up saying don't look at him we've all agreed to ignore him and also with the interview how Fred says there's a sixth member of the Scooby gang can you hear shaggy time out I thought we all agreed to never speak of that character again point being from all the stuff I listed even the creators want the characters to forget about Scrappy by showing that in the films and TV shows making them go Scrappy what's a scrappy he doesn't exist we agree never to speak of him again so the sum it up from everything I just listed and the video that referenced Scrappy Scrappy-Doo will never see the light of day ever again sadly to say believe me for any of you out there I loved Scrappy and I don't get why they got rid of him plus he taught a lot of kids that you can be independent in some way on your own at whatever age Scrappy and what that was some up to for human years but anyways comment down below how many of you guys think it's kind of messed up at the studios that make Scooby-Doo hate him or ignoring for good but yeah comment down below if you guys out there loved Scrappy and I pissed off that they got rid of him.
