Here are today's topics:
The New SAF uniform (0:30), KFC plastic free initiative (5:57), ceasing of GrabShare operation from 1am-5am (14:40).
If you enjoyed this episode, give the video a thumbs up and comment down below what other topics you'd like us to discuss about!
talk about how good jon looks in spectacles
can ask Fauzi to join
I actually really like this kind of videos because they are so informative and makes me want to care more about current events. And if it’s allowed, maybe y’all can talk about the immigration issues in America or local happenings or like the stigma over millennials??
they said topics in singapore tho
twistkook haha ya I realised that aft I wrote the comment, whoops 😬
ohh ok hahaha
wow, i really like the concept behind this new segment! it’s just so candid and so fun to hear people’s opinion about the current news! also helps people who barely read the news to stay updated. looking forward to more!! and hopefully yall would rotate the panel members too!
I quite like this new series! It reminds me of Wong Fu Production's "Lunch Break" series but for a local audience.
genius segment!! is it possible to improve the audio quality? i dont use headphones so can be abit difficult to hear!
agree, the audio is significantly softer than other videos
I like how this is so pure and everything is so honest it's literally #tea ( gossip) good addition can't wait for the next!¡💛
omo this is good for oral thank you smartlocal
Love the set-up for this segment!! Old school feelsss
This helps Singaporeans living overseas to keep in touch, looking forward to more :)
Nicholas somehow sounds like my doctor explaining me why I am sick when he explaining the reason for the SAF uniform.
I'm indonesian but i do really like TSL videos. So much fun and give me more informations about singapore. Keep up the good work guys!
this is so good! opinions and comments from you guys are wise and appropriate to a certain extent to enjoy watching and absorb great morals at the same time! nice!
I like this new series as they talk about local news or happenings
Omg I love this segment ❤ really enjoyed all the topics! Didnt know all these topica actually came up in the news and trend. And can't wait for more
I love this segment!! Nice to hear fellow Singaporeans talk about news :))
Really good and interesting series. Talk about the bike-sharing situation next!
Omg alr lovin this new segment!!! Looking forward to more vids like these!!! ❤️
I somehow relate your new segment to THE IN CENTRAL's What's Happening. You guys are doing it better than them, your suggestions really explain everything about what's going on with the situation. Good Job!
omg i love the concept of this! the conversations and topics are very entertaining / interesting.
i love this new series omg. it’s like channel news asia but with useful and interesting topics. also love the og crew cuz you guys started going missing from taste testers. i do hope this segment stays for long!!! maybe y’all can talk about why 1) uber shut down 2) cigarette age limit to 21 3) why we need terminal 4 for such a small country
dang I sure am excited for this new series :DD
This series is soo interesting!love itt
gain so much knowledge just by watching this, thanks yall🙏🏽
Taiwan is super good at recycling, Singapore legit needs to learn from them
japan even better ley
Damn for someone that hardly read news and only watch youtube videos i think this new segment is pretty interesting im loving everything about it. The set, the topics and the crew. Love it!!
Why is Joyce and Jon separated?
Really insightful and enjoyable discussion! I'm especially delighted to see the issue of plastic overconsumption being discussed, especially in such a wholesome manner such as including impacts and your own experiences of reducing plastic waste. Please do more coffeetalks!!
Dayummmm cant wait for more episodes !!!
I’m really glad that you guys decided to discuss the issue of KFC phasing out plastic and stuff 👍🏼 And yes I agree that most of our plastic usage is out of habit or simply us not being more considerate about the whole waste issue. Perhaps you guys could go on a coastal cleanup and document the process to show people the impact of plastic waste on our shores (and eventually us)
YES I LOVE THIS SERIES !!!
I died laughing when nic described how he used to clean his metal straw. 😂
' "it's just one straw" said 7 billion people. ' this quote alone refrains me from using plastic straws, slowly but surely!
I love this new series!!!
really liked this one!! i do think that the discussions could do with a little more structure, like how Joyce asked focused questions about grabshare, but not such that y’all can’t form spontaneous conversation branches. can’t wait to see more 😋😋
really enjoyed this segment a lot ! it's super beneficial for people who don't really read the news (eg me) to know what's going on in sg through this 😊
Did something happen between Jon and Joyce? In recent videos they haven’t been tgt, and in this one they are separated; Joyce also doesn’t look at Jon when he talks (even though she has a habit of looking at people when they talk)
everythingvanilla Thats what I thought too. But i think it had something to do with Jon's gf (?) not sure tho
Great video, topic discussed , and also opinions! 👍🏻
My school has also stopped providing straws for the drinks
love!!!! this new series
New favourite series!! :-)
KFC PLASTIC/STRAW FREE IS A BIG SCAM. they say they wont give out straws but guess what? The outlet i went to OBVIOUSLY HID THE STRAWS BEHIND A SIGN AND THE staff there didnt even encourage the public NOT to use the straws and offered them the straws. Ok but this series is really interesting!! Thanks :)
This is a lovely idea! I now know where I can keep up to date with Singapore news and stuff :) weeew!! Nice work team and editing James :)
HELLO SEPI!
TheSmartLocal OH HAI THERE 👋🏼 I will watch all the videos 😊🙏🏼 number 1 U.K. fan ok 😂😂
loving this segment!!!
I LOVE HOW NICHOLAS CLEANS HIS STRAW
Isit just me or the audio is quite soft ?
love this series!! love the lineup
Its great that we have this series because this helps bring out new points and discussions that can help students get more viewpoint and knowledge about the subject which can be useful in oral!! Thx! @.@
4:22 HAHA all the girls casually sipping on coffee
there's a nicer reusable straw. it's like a really thick and good quality plastic. damn aesthetic + it's clear
The hybrid uniform was already there before the Guards man passed away. I've seen Guards man wearing them for their outfield and exercises.
Honestly i'm pretty sure the Guards man passed away in the hybrid uniform. So if it's made to prevent that, clearly it has failed.
i think i've seen alison wear that shirt like a million times
Haha, It's one of her favourite shirts!
Well it does look great on her!! HAHA
Hehehe opps
Im still wondering...is it pyjamas?
I love this thanku tsl !!!
This new series is amazing!
Paper bags and paper straws are not necessary easier to degrade than plastic because usually paper are treated (merged) with a bit of plastic to make it water resistant to hold the drinks or to make the paper bags stronger.
In order to recycle it, there is additional steps to make to separate the plastic and the paper, it costs a lot higher so it's not usually done. So they go to the sea just like plastic.
In fact, to produce paper cups/plates, it requires 5 more times of water in the process. So it's still wasting water.
Just bring your own container, bottle and utensils :) that's the best way
This could become The Real Daytime SG!😂😂🤣
It will be great if there were subtitles so that I can watch this on the go. But great vid! I will like to see more of this 👍
y’all should head to The Green Collective at ONE km mall. They have a variety of straws in store including ones made of bamboo, glass & stainless steel in rose gold, holographic and just the usual silver. Really cool
Jon looks handsome with specs 😍😍
this is like socratic dialogue omg :OOO but with coffee yum
wow yess this series is on point.. so good
you can talk about how this year the gst vouchers are increased with $300 at the end of year payment
It’s good that they are passionate about not using plastics and walk the talk by even having kopi in glass cups. Except for the one girl whose plastic bag (in cup) was glaringly out of place.
Actually Grab can just add a comment section where passengers can give reviews on unruly ones !
If a certain individual gets too many bad reviews, just soft ban them for a yr or blacklist them lor !
you know that you're early when the max quality is 360p
Great video!
JJtheOwl Ye. Hi tho :D
Sab- Playz hai!
Oooo nice video 😂😂 real funny
*yas new series!❣️*
Yay!!!
Nice segment and a very befitting theme!
Yo someone gotta let us know where to get Joyce cup! Always tapau teh bing don’t know where to put. The cup is perfect!
Good start but the quality of the content and conversation needs to be improved
I'm not sure but, as others have expressed, paper is actually more eco-taxing than plastic, what more metal. Even tote bags need about 7100 use to cover back its foot print compared to plastic bags. So, has anyone actually studied how many uses you need to actually "save the earth" with a metal straw?
FRIKING LOVE JOHN SIA😹😹😹❤️❤️❤️
The idea of the show is good, but maybe can improve on the audio by hvin clip on mic for all the hosts?
If anyone is thinking of getting stainless steel straws, you can also get metal straws from aliexpress!
interesting segment !!
kfc still uses plastic bags for take away food though, shld switch to paper bags like mcdonalds
This segment very informative sia. 👍🏻 Good for oral. 😂😂
oooooo I like this!! talk about mcgriddles LOL.
I like the way Ra talks hahaha
What did she say after 1 tonne equals 1000 kg that caused such a big reaction?
Didn't KFC notice kids will spill the drink easier without plastic caps.Wastage or use less plastic...
idea from JustKiddingNews?
“ if you drop below 3 stars out of 5, you won’t be able to book a grab” - cue black mirror music
TIC's what's happening cum WF's lunch break...?? firstly, 6 is too many, I would rather focus on quality of discussion than quantity. secondly, only let the producers know the subject of discussion, so everyone else can chip in on their views, I feel it's more organic this way
im here for joyce and jon (s)
Aye dope
is it really guessing when the hosts already have their phones on the topic
Another one is at the grocery store placing your fruits in a plastic bag, only to be placing it in another plastic bag at payment 😐
Hope you all can post earlier because I have sch tomorrow
talking about going green and quitting straws, and then she's drinking from a plastic straw and a plastic bag ahahahahah
I NEED TO KNOW WHERE JOYCE GOT HER CUP FROM!
Do zero waste challenge again! But in office level 😄
reminds me of janine's idea from tsl talent search lol
Good vid
why didn't they talk about the Obike issue, maybe next episode?
LOL this is literally lunch break
18:00 black mirror reference
Lol like revert back to plate fork & knife kfc days of olde!
#JOYNATHAN
Americans have been using this type of shirt for 10 years, why only now we get this???? Last time don’t have because we don’t have technology to do lah
