I viewed this because the O&M manual did not really explain how to open the filling loop and it certainly clarified how to do it. I then followed the instructions and successfully topped up the system pressure. Thank you Glow-worm for this video.
Extremely useful! I tried to follow the instructions in the manual but couldn't get past the first step of pushing the disconnector upwards. From the video I realised that the installer had actually left it in the upwards position, which is why it didn't budge! The RH tap was a bit stiff to open, especially with those soft, floppy blue handles, and I nearly called for more muscle power but a determined effort got it moving and I rather nervously managed to fill to 1.2 bar. The only thing that concerned me though was that the heating and water turned themselves on once I reached a certain level. I thought they would stay off until I was finished, so I punched the Menu button a few times to turn them off, but they wouldn't stay off so I gave up and just hoped that was alright.
Thank you! Boiler pressure was to low. Watched this vid and the instructions outlined on how to re-pressue the boiler and now about to jump in a hot bath! Good stuff
Thank you Everyone my installer was left up to. A gentle pull and it popped right down. Thank you guys I'm soooooo tired of calling people to fix my boilers. Maybe updates did the boilers function normal after. I reckon they do it on purpose now after reading the comments I've had the same boiler problem in 2 different cities 3 Different houses. Take care guys.
I spent almost an hour to find a way to push the green collar up (actually you should push the black L-shaped part up). But what I found was that it has already been in the up position, although the green lever was in a proper lock position. That was why I couldn’t push it up! I just pull it down (there is nothing like a spring mechanism that helps you), and then push it up again and rotate the green lever. This works. The blue plastic socket handles are rubbish.
Thank you so much for this, I followed the instructions on the boiler but the left hand filling tap wouldn't move and the disconnector was locked in upwards position and wouldn't move either. This gave me some confidence that I only needed to move the lock and and find something to turn the left hand filling tap as the right one moved without issue (they are easier to turn without the attachments) , I couldn't find an Allen key big enough but manged to use a spanner, I really needed to put a lot of force to move it but once it finally moved the stiffness was gone everything was fine. Just in case this happens to anyone else. I did notice however after filling the boiler to 1.5 that the pressure kept increasing slowly up to 1.8 (this is without heating as it now goes up to 2.3 max when heating is turned on) so I would go to say 1.2 and then wait to see if it goes up on it's own as ideally you only want 1.5

Got my son to get plyers and literally rip the blue filling loops off the little piece of metal that holds it together as they were too tight. Plyers will turn the metal piece easily.
@@Zulisian hiya...so did you essentially rip the blue tap parts off to get at the underneath? I used to be able to turn mine the last time, about 1 year back, but now they are immovable; allan key and pliers do nothing. I thought maybe its frozen or rusted shut over winter or something. Great time during lockdown to have no hot water.
My boiler pressure keeps going down even though I top it up occasionally. I've just had an annual service too few days ago but pressure is still below 0.5 bar. Can somebody tell me why does the pressure keep going down and why the engineer couldn't pick this up during the recent inspection. Many thanks
can someone please help. The filing loops are stiff they just won't budge. I've tried everything! ! called the helpline. They said brute force. I have non left. have children in house and no heating
The filling loop disconnector (with green locking collar) of my Glow Worm Ultracom2 cxi combi boiler has just started leaking. It is snowing outside. Is it related to the freezing temperatures outside and hence is likely to stop? Or is it related to a faulty isolation valve or corroded washer? If so, how much could it cost to repair?
water poured out when i pushed or pulled can't remember, that locking thing in middle. had to call out a plumber in the end. why do they make boilers that are difficult to handle? why not have those filling valves more accessible. instead of bending down
Is it a serious issue if the filling loop disconnector is permanently in the filling position? This is the first time I've used the filling loop in my new house and while everything went as well as the video for me resolving the pressure issue, whoever serviced this before hasn't moved that centre disconnector back and I'm unable to move it.

We have a old Glow Warm bolier there are no windows showing any numbers or letters to indicate a fault only a red reset button , the boiler keeps turning off , what can we do please ..
This video is great. I woke up to a cold house and the boiler blinking no gas icon and nothing else, no pressure at all. The printed manual is useless although I am not scared of gadgets. My question is - what would happen if I was on 2 week holiday and the boiler shut down? Its winter and fairly cold and pipes could freeze. I don't like this part of owning Glo-worm. I had a different combi boiler in my previous house and never had to fill it up.
211topgun 100% agree with you ! Every winter I need to get a plumber to fix the water leak from the bottom. Yes ! Wochester boiler is the best in the market!
Sorry, but we can't help you with customer service on this channel. Please discuss your issue with our technical team as they should be able to help you.
Got to be the worse filling loop I have ever seen, cheap plastic taps, found on mine after moving in one plastic tap (mains side) was missing and the clown who last touched it last had left the mains on and the boiler off with the disconnect rammed up.
One Blue tap turned,,one did not..use bull-nosed pliers and eh presto..tap turns, fills up to 1.0 and then Niagara!..a deluge of water..have closed everything down and at 0.6 now cos of the lost water..and Don't get me started on the disconnector-I said DON'T get me started .......!
The blue filling taps are crap, made of plastic and to stiff to turn with those plastic udder things. The filling system could have been made much easier and NOT made of plastic!! Also be careful to make sure filling loop, the thing with the green collar is fully pushed up, if not you will get splattered with water...
Hiya..I know it's so long ago but did you have a workaround for those stuck blue taps? The turning aid doesn't grip, the allan key doesn't work, pliers neither. Lockdown is a great time to have no hot water!
@@GreatBritishBeast Hi, they are an absolute nightmare, feel your pain. Allan keys worked the first few times then due to being plastic the edges wore out. In the end I used a pair of needle nose pliers, got underneath the blue taps inserted one of the plier needles in to the hole where the Allan key goes and the other on the outside edge of the blue tap and gripped them like that and managed to open it by turning, being very careful to turn in the right direction. Make sure you don't tighten them too much when closing again. Alternative is paying for a plumber to come out in this lockdown, crazy when you know what the problem is. I have moved house so no longer have this problem. Good luck!

why are the blue taps hard to turn under
Simple and straightforward. Job done. Thanks 👍

Use an allan key to get it turning if having probs
why after I did that, the boiler start to leak
My blue filling taps are stuck, Any suggestions before I call the plumber out? Thanks
Thanks for the video. I have filled the pressure to 1.5 as shown but when I turned the heating and water back on the pressure rose to 2.5 ?

i was about to call plumer until i saw the video very easy when you know thank you.

Thanks for the advice, the turning loops snaped on the metal pipe as they were that tight / stiff. Stupid cheap shit boiler that the landlord put in.

tk54 it may say anti clockwise in this video but mine was clockwise. May sound stupid but have you tried turning it the other way.lol
tk54 just noticed this was a year ago. I assume you got it sorted by now lol
How do I reduce the pressure on my glow worm. It's 2.3 now

Anyone else notice that when he says turn clockwise he actually turns the nob anti clockwise?.... confusing
Using the blue handles, I could turn the filling taps, but had no idea if they were open or closed. No sound of running water, nightmare.
+28lyonc Blue handles are crap, they just turn around the thread, not actually turning anything. I used a hex key which sorted them out properly.
Thanks!!!
Thank u
Had to use an Allen to key to turn the blue knobs
Best repair method.....{1} remove Glowworm boiler....{2} FIT A WORCESTER Boiler AND enjoy life
replace a reasonable boiler with a nitemare boiler. Great idea!
