Hi Dan, Thanks to you, I have cleaned the diverter from my Vaillant Ecotec Pure 236/7-2 I had an issue initially that the diverter was stuck in the support ( I had to dismount it cause during changing from hot water to heat, a nice scratch sound was heard 😁 ) I follow your video in order to be sure, the diverter can get out by loosen just those 2 screws After took out the screws ( obviously the water was eliminated before ), by apply some shakes and pull, it get out. Clean complete, Wd 40 at shaft and silicone vaseline on O-rings and the active side - works perfect. Thank you very much for this video 🙏. Cheers
Hello dan this video is a big help i have a question about this because i just notice that there is a bit water leak on this part but i think the water is coming from the small rod in the middle (im not sure) or im suspecting the O-ring is broken? Or the whole parts should be replace? Any advice? Thank you very much for this video.
My diverter valve seems to be stuck on hot water because when i put my thermostat on i dont get any heating, i have tried to remove the same as in the video but its stuck i have tried wiggling and turning but can't get it out 😢
Hi Dan, I have a Biasi boiler m96 28sm/d don't have any hot water when turning tap on the radiators heat up. However, when I turn the heating on for a while I then get hot water. Question is it the three-way diverter valve or the heat exchanger. Looking forward to your reply.
Hi john, it’s always very difficult to diagnose over here but I would expect it to be a split diaphragm on the diverter, with no hot water on combi's the diaphram, this is in the valve containing the ‘diaphram rubber’ a circular disc that is put under pressure when the hot tap is turned on this pushes on a micro switch which then gives power to fire up the boiler if the rubber is split the pressure bypasses and if it’s not pushing the micro switch hence not giving power to fire the boiler. if you are getting hot or warm water when you turn on the tap with the heating also running, a split diaphram is the more likely problem. hope this helps. Only a guide to what u have just said is the symptoms I would also check the plate heat exchanger clean it out while your at it and also check the water sensor too! 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Dan, thank you for your reply. The boiler fires up when turning the hot water the micro switch pin is activating when I turn the water on, but no result for hot water. The radiators heat up still no hot water. Turn on heating after heating is heated up, then get hot water.Thank you for your reply, much appreciated.

Short and straight to the point..awesome!
Thank you so much. Great video! Exactly what i was looking for.
Awsome saved me a call out for a plumber 👌
Is there a way to manually test a diverted valve like change it yourself to make sure its the valve before buying new one?
Does the boiler have a flow sensor for hot water?

Absolutely brilliant tips mate very useful. Thanks a lot
What screw bit is required for the locking screws?

is it legal to change it myself if I am not heat engineer? :)
Unless your gas Safe you can't take the cover off 👍🏻
@@PlumbingGyso why are you showing us a video to do something you said we can’t do unless we’re plumbers 🤷♂️
Because he’s simply covering his back if you do something wrong.

Is this dangerous? I’ve always thought messing with gas is dangerous?
Yes, that’s why you should be gas safe registered before taking the case off as I state in the video 👍🏻
