As usual Baxi seeing a possible Problem and evolving to deal with it. Brass parts comon sense unlike some bignanes still using plastic. . Great video what a way to get back in to it.
Thank you for making this video, I bought a replacement valve and when I removed the old one in six pieces I thought I would have to go all the way back to the plumbers merchant to get a different valve. My wife said look at RUclips so this video saved my day.
Hello, my question is the following: When the boiler is off, where is the three-way valve positioned towards the heating systems or the sanitary water? Thanks
Where setting is set. You can set it. Also manufacturers can change default. My baxi was on central heating default value where it always returns. You can have 3 values. Dhw, HC or Last requested - aka do not go back, stay where you are
it would appear my diverter valve is whining when on heat and you can hear it slowly close as it switched to DHW, i can replace the whole assembly it seems but could not find the cartridge itself. Do you know where i could just get the cartridge for a Laars Mascot HT 330? looks identical to the valves in this video
My valve cartridge is not sized but my replacement diverter valve has failed within a month. Is something else faulty I'm missing or have I been stung by poor quality spares?
I'm a different type of engineer but own one of these. Brilliant description of how it works. You kept is simple, to the point, and explained the operation. Not sure about o-rings being rotated many times as they seat though.
@@davidwands1899 But how do I regulate the gigawatt transformer to increase in power when the blow dryer is activated during the mega flush setting. I heard it can blow out the flux inverter relay.
@@offplanetevent Ahhh, you need to run a 780 volt 32mm modular cable between the inlet orifice diode and the niobium oxide multi faceted capacitors and adjust where necessary with an 8lb pin hammer. If this doesn't work, I would advise quickly procuring a paddle, you'll need it where you're going.
@@davidwands1899 I agree with you, but Im thinking a 10lb self- regulating pin hammer would be better than a standard 8lb pin hammer. I will keep you posted, hopefully with success. Paddles give me blisters.
I have a horrendous whistle from my boiler and it seems if I flex the diverter valve head the whistle stops. It got so bad I wedged a bit of wood in there but then the whistling started again…always seemed to be within the first few minutes of the heating coming on. Replaced the head but hasn’t solved the issue. Could this be cartridge related? Or something completely different.
This diverter has been replaced 4 maybe 5 times in 7 years on my baxi duotech 24 he, any idea why this fails so often, also recently noticed hot water temp gauge goes over 60 when its set to 50, it also exceeds 65 which is supposed to be the max, do you think there is a fault with something or is this just normal for baxis
Its a common fault on these boilers, including the Potterton sister boilers. The rubber o rings on the cartridge break down and cause the assembly to leak. I had 5 changed on my original Potteton Gold 33 between 2015 and 2018. They even exchanged the boiler for free after changing the cartridge 3 times, the valve once, and the whole manifold once. The new boiler, installed in 2018 had a new diverter cartridge fitted in 2019 under warranty. It's failing again now even with a Magnaclean filter inline, regular servicing and a system flush before both installs. I cannot fault Baxi customer service, but would I buy one of their boilers in the future? No chance.
Great video but you don’t go on to say if pressure keeps dropping due to a leak and water dripping from underneath what to do and what could be causing this
One of the best videos I’ve seen to help with training, the cut always are a fantastic way to learn, more of them please
I watched this to familiarise myself with how the bi-pass operates. Great video. Thanks 👍
Hav you upgraded the seals on the top as I have changed loads that leak into the electric motor shorting out the boiler blowing the fuse

Yes, although ironically the big name you are talking about have the best diverter lol
It's a great vid.
The cartridge isn't suited for the boiler that have a bypass. I'm afraid you would need to fit the complete diverter valve.
Learn that the hard way…
That was an excellent tutorial. The strength of your training videos has made me fit baxi 800s now!

Great vid, you guys (Baxi) go the extra mile, Thanks
Hi
awesome way to show how it works...in 5 minutes too. thanks
Baxi are mega good ! Installed loads and I’ve got one
Great video Richard. Any chance of videoon removing insulation panel on the solo heat only
Brass components, lovely 😍
How much would that cost to change

Back with a blast
Fantastic video like the way u teach thanks
Thanks. Good work.

how do you get valve out if it snaps old plastic one
Great video
Good morning can You send to me pdf with thé signification of défauts code and how to réparé thanks
How does this connect to my toilet valve that has a bidet washlette seat?
Via the condensed transporter fluxed capacitor, silly.

Hi, did you ever solve your issue? I believe that I'm experiencing the same.
This is an excellent video, I think a customers boiler has a diverter valve issue for hot water not working, rather then a block heat exchanger
the heating is off. but when hot water tap is opened why heating pipe gets very hot ?
Just a comment terminal1 on actuator is heating demand terminal 3 dhw demand
hi my baxi due tec 40he keep loosing pressure every day how to repair this
Baxi v plastic components - Baxi wins!
Is there a spec sheet for these valves which gives the value of pressure that causes the auto bypass function to open?
hi, what model and brand of the 3-way valve in the video? thank you
lve seems similar or perhaphs same as used in Biasi Riva M90E boiler,

Normal for Baxi, buy cheap buy 4 maybe 5 times...
The top on the diverter valve leaked back in 2020 and was replaced in early 2021, now its leaking again on my Main eco compact.

How much do diverter valve cost ?
What are spanner’s are you using?
thankyou very good explanation
hello merhaba
very good but bit too fast
Great video but you don’t go on to say if pressure keeps dropping due to a leak and water dripping from underneath what to do and what could be causing this
Call a gas safe fella out to fix it
Thank you... very helpful
How come the rubber o ring has deformed at the top ?
Its just because the valve is cut away
Best explanation so far!
