- Main Difference b/w normal and solar water pump is its impeller size. A water pump with small impeller is more efficient as compare to other one (In case of solar). That's why i have designed this water pump. It is best project for your garden and auto irrigation systems.
There is no special material and tools are used in this project. anybody can make it easily at home. Make this cool project and share pictures on our Facebook page. Enjoy!

This would be good to distribute rain water to your plants/crops when on holiday. Have a big water tank to collect water and let it auto pump to where you want it

Thnx. It is simple electronics solder wire. For housing, You can use iron sheet to make it. And i think lead based things are not safe for drinking.

Does it work to fill up the roof top water tank? Distance between ground and roof top is about 25 meters.
if you could mention specificiation for pump, solar panels and what you used to connect (inter switch) between solan panel and DC motor, it would be great
1.) is the cable rated for that current? I would use thicker cables so that it is at least more efficient.
2.) Attach step down converters to the output to get the maximum height. 2-3m shouldnt be a problem (i am running such setup/10W Panel, 3W Motor)
3.) You can just order a cheap solar pump for 2$ (if you have to buy that stuff anyway)

This pump has no mech seal, so the water can get in and burn the motor eventually.

Great video man, quick question, how do you control or manage the voltage as per the pump need. I mean, the panel may have fluctuating output depending on weather, therefore, to protect the pump, constant power has to be maintain.
Waterpump do not need any protection in this case.

Volts doesn't matter...wattage does! I tried a 12v pump with a 12V trickle solar panel 10W..didnt work. It was giving out 16.3V...check with a multimeter. Used a energize 9V battery..pump was working

Here, I am giving my personal opinion about this hot topic - Can We Run Water Pump in Home on Solar System? I would like to say - YES, but how and which system we have to buy. Basically, homes have 0.5 - 1 HP Motor to fill water tank and normal time to take to fill full tank around 30 minutes. Now-a-days, people are installing water pump in their homes instead of hand pump. If I am not talking about water pump, then 1kW Solar Inverter runs all homes loads, like Freeze. But sometimes to long time power failure, the problem occurs. So, I talked with solar professionals, they recommend that 2kW solar inverter can run water pump with all home loads. The price of this system will be a little bit costly.
