You are correct. A water wheel does the same thing. It uses the water to spin the wheel then discharges back into the stream. A Ram Pump uses the power of the water then it returns it back to the stream.
I hope you kept looking cuz I have been watching for months and this is one of the worst videos I have seen. This dude put so much random stuff into the build you'd think he has stock in PVC parts.
How is this an improvement? I'm not trying to be a jerk. I'm sorry if it comes across that way. I like your ram pump, but don't understand what you're improving with this. The through put of the pipe doubles by having 2 in parallel, but you'd get more water through a single pipe with wider diameter than 2 identically sized pipes because the volumetric throughput is by a cubic exponential rate for each unit of diameter increase. The volumetric throughput of multiple same size pipes increase linearly for each new pipe added. Also the cost of double the number of brass check valves greatly increases pump cost.
This is meant for rivers or places were you dont mind losing water. I aprecciate that is real and not those free energy claims that contradict thermondynamic principles.
putting a connection at the end of the check valve to "salvage water" would lessen the pressure created in the line thereby lessening its ability to transfer water from river and pond to its intent destination
Ram pumps have been around for many decades and are popular for two main reasons: 1.They need no external source of power -- the force of moving water gives them the power they need. 2.They are extremely simple, with just two moving parts. The basic idea behind a ram pump is simple. The pump uses the momentum of a relatively large amount of moving water to pump a relatively small amount of water uphill.
@@hawaiiansoja81 The Ram pump basically uses the pressure of flowing ten times the water to push 1/10th of that volume up hill ten times as high. Well not quite because there is some losses in the system. .
