As much as I loved Johnny Castaway, it wasn't really doing its job as a screen saver. I can't count all the screens I saw in the 90's that had that ocean and palm tree permanently burned into the screen :)
"What kind of computer back in 96 had 60 megabytes?" Well, that may be the problem. A lot of programmers back then did not expect the rapid expansion of technology (despite the rapid expansion that lead to that point), and simply ignored safeguards against really high numbers. The variables used in some programs to check for things like system memory were set up so bad that if the memory got too high, they would loop back around and become negative. With excessively high memories, the variables could some times take several loops around before landing on some outlandish number. This went on for quite some time, with even giants such as EA being guilty of it. In 2002's Black & White, if you had a computer from 2005 or later, you simply couldn't run the game because they didn't expect you to have more than 1Gb of RAM... ever. I highly suspect this is what's up with that music program of yours...
One of the best screen savers I had was actually a promo for the game Fie Fighter. It played the Internal March while slides of the games screen shots were shown.
Heh some funny stuff there. I should really dig look through my floppy files. I did copy the data off my disks a while back but I don't think I actually looked what was on them XD Also, that screensaver won't do much to actually save your screen since the majority of the image is static!
hey mate, love your vids but if possible and if ya have it would love your yake on dreamcast shenmue? cheers keep it up its great having a channel like this with so many regular uploads :)
have been for a few days, mind only recently found the channel so been working my way through the vids this last couple weeks... it's like a retro box set lol

More likely he needs to free up space in lower memory!
I remember Johnny Castaway! Yay! Thanks for the memory!

you made that speed test to try to convince your parents to upgrade
There is a tiny slice in the bottom left corner of your DOS monitor overlay that shows the background.
Lol, what is the point of a screen saver that keeps a constant image on the screen?
It doesn't, it distorts it.
the memory issue could have been easily fixed ... www.dosbox.com/wiki/Configuration:DOSBox enjoy ! :D
Because 12 pm isn't noon. It's obviously midnight!

Usually when you get that insufficient memory error it is talking about the 640k memors
