This is a "military style" (which I think just means that the nylon band goes behind the watch as a single part, instead of a two part band that does not go behind the watch) ballistic nylon watch band.
I found it harder to get the pins into the lugs on the watch band because they were free to slide around between the two nylon bands, and did not have a sleeve holding them in place like with two part watch bands. Luckily they include 2 extra pins (4 total) along with the pin compression tool, as I lost one of the pins when the spring shot it off into the dark corners of my room...
The band is plenty long. I have medium sized wrists, and it was hanging out a little bit from the end of the band. When I put it on my 11 year old son's wrist the tail of the band covered the watch, so I trimmed it to length with a pair of scissors and heated the end with a flame to keep it from fraying.
At this price point, the quality is good and I'm happy with it.
