My man Tom. I stopped playing golf 13 yrs ago and when I gave it up I was a 5. I am now 56 and started playing again 4 months ago and I struggled immensely with hitting the ball solid. I spent countless hrs practicing and researching info through you tube and stumbled across your stack and tilt videos. I heard nothing about stack and tilt when played years ago and anyone making a move at the ball in this manner would be categorized as having a reverse pivot golf swing. Be that as it may, I have watched, practiced and played on the course with your teaching methods and I am now hitting the ball solid again...thx brother for all your help.
@Chic 33, I truly appreciate your kind words and I am very glad to learn that my channel's instruction has benefited your game to such an extent; you've obviously done an excellent job digesting the lesson content, incorporating it into your swing, and taking ownership of it!! I know it sounds like a strange concept to those who have only ever subscribed to a swing model that is based on shifting weight from back to front, but I assure you that this swing is anything but a reverse pivot! You bring up a good point, though, because it represents an often misconstrued notion and occasional invalid criticism of the Stack & Tilt swing, and as such I always appreciate the opportunity to respond and clarify. You start with your weight forward (55/45 on the front side; 60/40 for the longer clubs), increase that same weight forward to the top of the backswing (70/30), and further increase the forward weight during the downswing from halfway down (80/20) through impact (90/10) and to the finish at 95/5 forward. There's no "weight shift", therefore - unless one were to fall backwards - there's nothing to reverse or pivot!! And the result is a low-maintenance, body-friendly, consistent, and tremendously powerful swing! I'm very glad to have you on board, and the game is very glad to have you back on the course!! Thanks for sharing your success and keep up the great work!! Tom
100 % agreed !!! For the first time you’ve made me understand the importance of covering the golf ball and the fallacy of the weight shift. The stack and tilt is the holy grail of golf. Thx again Tom !!
This seems to put every club in the right position! My problem is coming over the top, especially with longer clubs and this is a good antidote for that.
Yes, it does! And one of the many fabulous things about this system is that it is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some practice range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: ruclips.net/video/o0xscMyN3v8/видео.html Thanks for your message - I'm very glad to know that this lesson clicked with you! Thanks Jim - I truly appreciate your kind words and support, and I am very glad to know that you are enjoying and benefiting from my channel's lesson content!! Yours in crispiness, Tom
That IS the correct golf swing, I'd suggest starting at half swings and working up over weeks if people have been always turning flat and using arms or they may pull a back muscle. Great video
Thanks, @Daz Alenko - I'm glad you enjoyed this lesson video!! Yes - I agree - building up incrementally towards the full swing is a great way for someone to transition effectively from Lift & Shift to Stack & Tilt. Cheers! Tom
Definitely the most valueable and compact advice for semi-skilled golfers like me (HCP -15). On days with a compact swing I can shoot into 70s, with the hands away from the body it may be in the 90s. After not playing for many weeks this may be a game changer for getting back lost confidence. THX to SagutoGolf!
I'm glad you enjoyed this lesson video and hope it helps your game! I would say that if you can keep this one trigger thought in mind whenever you play then you've probably got a good chance of mostly eliminating those disconnected days and enjoying some more consistency in your scoring from round to round! Tom, another great video. Keeping that connection makes it a lot easier. My question is do you keep that same connection while putting? Thanks again for all your help and keep the videos coming. Kerry
Glad you enjoyed it, Kerry! Putting is far too much of an individual feel thing with seemingly as many unique styles as there are golfers. Having said that, if you're the type of putter who relies on the rocking of the shoulders back and through while keeping the hands and arms "dead", then a good connection can certainly help. TS
OMG! That is sooo me. Overthinking ething. Connecting the arms totally worked for me with my irons. Haven’t tried it with the Driver. I’m a beginner golfer. Thanks.

I have tried your stack and tilt method in the back yard into a net, but I haven't had a chance to take it to the course. If solid contact is any indication of a well struck ball, then I think I have found my new swing. Thanks Tom!
Sounds good, Darrell! By all means solid impact is a good indicator, and I hope it translates well to the course for you. This is the same technique as the ‘ Hogan arms ‘ video , any reason for not mentioning the Hogan bit ? Both great videos ,really saved the day for me , I could hit off the tee very well , but struggled hitting woods and particularly irons off the fairway , until I practiced this tip . Thanks again
Hi Patrick, Oftentimes it is necessary to convey the same concept in different ways so it will resonate with a broader spectrum of players. Anyway, I'm glad to know that these lessons benefited you!! Tom
Unfortunately they're out there, Justin, prowling about the world seeking the ruin of anyone's enjoyment of this great game. Tom - very simple but effective tip! As I tried this, could feel hands and arms in proper position, along with the body. If you do tis, the body can ONLY be in the proper position! I played yesterday and sometime the arms get too far from the body and things go haywire! Can WAIT to try this! THX for making this SIMPLE!! Brian

@@SagutoGolf - I watched the Hogan vids you did and incorporated the R elbow rotation Mr Hogan (and Rory) does. I had to work to remember and didn't get it correct each time BUT I could clearly FEEL better and crisper contact and hit a number of really good shots! It's getting colder in PA where I live so will have less time to ingrain this for the spring but I'm always learning. Wanted to provide update and feedback! Appreciate the help and you are outstanding teacher who is also VERY entertaining! Brian
Hi Shawn, Standard Stack and Tilt instruction actually recommends the "tee drill" in which you stick a tee under each armpit and hit balls while trying to keep both tees in place throughout the entirety of the swing. A small towel under each upper arm will work fine as well; just remember that they need to stay there from setup to finish in order to ensure that the connections were maintained. Cheers! Tom
This is a good I'll incorporate it but Tom another big one that really works is a LOT of turning into the right hip on backswing makes everything work so much better!
@Asone82, I'm glad to know that you're enjoying my channel's content and that these lessons are benefiting you! I do my best to convey different "feels" or thoughts throughout the swing wherever possible because we're all unique physiologically and psychologically, and something that resonates effectively with me may not necessarily work for you. Furthermore, a feel or thought that performs well for you this week may run its course or get overdone and not play out so nicely next week, so it's good to have alternates to call upon if needed. The key takeaway here is that no matter the variety of suggested feels/thoughts offered for a particular element of the swing, they are all directed at getting different golfers to achieve the same desired motion or position. (It's like a multiple choice test with no wrong answer!) And another nice thing about ingraining “feels” is that we can then disengage ourselves from mechanical thoughts during a round, focus on the target, and really just feel the swing we are going to make. This prevents “paralysis by analysis” and enables us to go out and enjoy the round. Beyond that it's important to understand that the videos, lessons, and drills on this free channel - while fully aligned with the swing method I teach - address a variety of topics, issues, feels, and common flaws/fixes from one episode to the next. They are certainly not intended to be taken as a sequential learning platform like the structured curriculum of my online school, which I strongly recommend to anyone who truly wishes to get on the proper path towards learning and owning this swing. For just $10 US/month or $99 US/year you'll have unlimited access to a comprehensive members-only system for the full swing, the short game, and much more. Hi Mitch, Up in PA we would play if it was upper 30's and no wind, so I fully understand what you're saying, and it came with the added bonus of the feeling that we were cheating nature by stealing a day back from winter! @@SagutoGolf I'd consider that. Unfortunately we are heading into the Winter season. I frequent a muni course in the Bronx, NY. As long as there's no snow on the ground you can get out. It's more about my tolerance for the cold.
The season up here in Maine ended 2 weeks ago and it already feels like forever. I can’t wait until next season. I want to work on chipping because I can’t figure it out. @@SagutoGolf oh and I will 100% signup for the school once the season starts back up. Your style of teaching seems to match how I naturally want to swing the club.
Tom. Great video! Has really helped my game. Question. When hitting or using a Sand Wedge for short (20yds - 30yds) or middle-distance (40yds - 60yds) shots, is it a good idea to keep the backswing in relation to numbers on a clock. For example: for a 20yrd shot to the pin keep your backswing at 8:00 o'clock, for a 30yrd shot keep your backswing at 9:00 o'clock, for a 40yrd shot keep your backswing at 10:00 o'clock, for a 50yrd shot to the pin keep your backswing at 11:00 o'clock, and for a 60yrd to 80yrd shot to the pin -use your normal full swing or . . . 12 o'clock. I have been practicing this drill and it really seems to help. Just wanted your opinion. John
Tom, great tip. I posted a detailed comment but by mistake as a reply to somebody else ! To summarise could you help me understand what starts the downswing ? Is it the upper body returning or the arms swinging the club to the ball ? Many Thanks, Tim ( in the UK)
Hi Tim, Sorry that your detailed comment fell into the abyss!! How to initiate the downswing is a loaded question because it is so dependent on individual tendencies that I cannot give a generalized answer. If I tell you that it's a lateral hip slide but your downswing already naturally has sufficient forward force, then you'll hit pushes and/or hooks all day long, and if I tell you to rotate your hips but you are already naturally applying enough outward force, then your destination is pull/slice city. And then there's other actions and "feels" beyond these!... Having said that, here's a link to my playlist of downswing-related lesson videos: ruclips.net/p/PLV62KxT7Mp7Jxi814RQddJx3wkHqxqhio. Warning for long but worthy read. 20 years ago( late teens) I was shooting low 80's, and was self taught using the complete golf instruction manual(2001) from Steve newell. A bad marriage and not much golf over the past 20 years(maybe 10 rounds) had me shooting an average of 115. I have begun actively trying to get back into golf since last year and was straight up sucking badly. I've been watching all of the youtube guys since last year with zero improvement to my game. Reverse k this, turn your back that, etc... Then I came across Tom's work about a week ago. The very first video I watched triggered something in my memory from how I played 20 years ago, and I have been hooked since. Now mind you, I have played probably 7 rounds this spring. My very first round was a legit 95. Every other round was between 110-120, Last Friday, I shot eighteen and hit pretty close to that 120 stroke mark. Wednesday, after watching numerous videos from Tom, I played 18 and shot a 57 on the front 9 while beginning to put Tom's methods to work. The first 5 holes destroyed me. Then it slowly began to click. I ended up shooting a 44 on the back 9 to finish with 101. Today I just played 18. 46 on the front nine and 45 on the back 9 with 7 legit pars for a round of 91. I fell apart on two par 4 holes for an added 7 strokes. Literally 1 week of beginning to change my swing with Tom's stack and tilt routine, and starting from scratch as if I've never golfed before, and I have shaved 20 strokes off my round. I am a paid member of his online golf school since Monday, and would encourage everyone that truly wants to play a better brand of golf to get with this program and watch what it will do to your game. Again, I am only a week into watching his videos, and doing nothing but trying it on the course with no range time. Had I not fallen apart on 2 holes today, I would have shot my first round in the mid 80's since I was 20 years old. I have much work to do to get this swing engrained into habit. I have much work to do on every aspect of my game, including a much needed overhaul of my short game(2-3 putts galore). But I will break 80 by August if not sooner, and will shoot a par round by the end of this year. And I promise you that when I do, it will be from learning from Tom Saguto. If you love golf but are inconsistent, I recommend that you become a member of Tom's paid course. Pretend you are completely new to golf and kill your old swing and mindset as fast as possible. Us inconsistent golfers always say there is that one shot on the course today that keeps me coming back for more. Whether it be a perfect 300 yard bomb off the tee, a beautiful short iron approach into a gimmie putt, or a long birdie or eagle putt that finds the bottom of the cup. @@SagutoGolf It is my pleasure as well good sir! It's amazing to find you after the many many videos I have watched, and yet you were the black sheep, the golden ticket to high performance consistency. You stand against the masses who all fall in to the same training rhetoric, who teach a consistently inconsistent play style, unshaken by pressure and that means and says a lot about your character. Thank you for your kind words to me as well. Your teaching has brought new life to a man who has lost much over the past 20 years. And for that I am truly blessed and appreciative. God bless, see you in the next video brother!
That's gold, Tommy, just a mound of bullion in the sun....nice...!!..I was thinking 'hogan arms' when I am getting cozy with the ball, but that would spring the picture of Hogan from your previous tutorial, and the forearms folding right arm...which was good, but got a bit to positional. The connected opine is the solution for me, it gets the tilt and good shoulder position for a crispy swipe on the ball; which is nice. The golf swing is such a personalization for each linkster coming down the pike, you have nailed it. The coolest thing is that I can arrive at the linx and just start striking crispiness, so I love when you come into these vidz cold, and you just start pounding them; and you exclaim as an aside,....'...geez, that was sweet, I have not touched a club in a fortnight...' I never never could do that before, I use arrive in the parking lot and I am a box of chocolates and if its hot I am a melted mess trying to find something to break 90. You fixed me, Tommy...I am one connected Hoganesque striking bantam out there....thanks man, hope all things are good, the turkey was extra crispy and the Christmas has those gold tinsel streamers flaming into xtra crispiness.....yeeellhowwwww....now, thats nice....
From Forrest Gump to Hoganesque striking bantam??? You da Man, Teddy!!! You hit the nail on the head (or the ball on the screws?).... Thanksgiving was very nice, thanks - fully unmasked, most assuredly not socially distanced, and delicious food! I hope you and yours enjoyed the holiday as well. Thanks again for your always highly-anticipated update! Keep it Krispy my friend!! Tom

@SagutoGolf. Hi SagutoGolf, thanks again, for sharing your work about this fun and relaxing, great game of golf. I wish to be honest, as I always intend to be. I've been trying different swing styles, Kirk Junge and Moe Norman, you know, with the uncocked wrists, like Bryson. I even stopped using the extended wrist style and am using the normal, two plane swing, though using your flying wedge wrist position, with stack and tilt. It is working so consistently and powerful, as long as the upper arms are glued, as one unit to the body and the flying wrist wedge is used, the club just sweeps along the ground and makes perfect ball contact, with good power. We are told, that in the 2 plane swing, the wrists will ulnar deviate, when the inertia of the club is coming through to meet the ball. However, with your swing method, this is not the case. Why, because the wrists, being in that angled, flying wedge position, do not allow the wrists to extend, causing the club to extend and duff into the ground. So with your swing, extending the wrists is not necessary and I AM starting to think, power is sacrificed, using the ulnar deviated wrists or uncocked wrists, as in the Moe Norman swing style. Again, I thank you for keeping it simple and the way you keep repeating the obvious, so we can enjoy this game, out in nature, among the beautiful trees and grass. peace love light
To be more clear, Saguto does have a single plane swing. I meant, it does not use ulnar deviated wrists, which i was using previously and is not needed and probably gives more power anyway, just like a baseball swing.
I appreciate your kind words and I'm glad you're enjoying the videos, @Flying Free! When we start talking ulnar and radial deviation we find ourselves venturing into more advanced areas that are beyond the scope of the instruction on this free channel. Briefly speaking, Stack and Tilt does utilize these concepts, with one example of this being at setup in which we deploy ulnar (butt of the club pointing higher) and radial positions to influence shot shape. In a properly executed swing the wrists should return to their address hinge at impact - ulnar to encourage a draw and conversely a radial position to promote a fade. With regard to power, I've not sacrificed ANY distance in S&T; quite to the contrary I've gained at least a club and a half with my irons and am a solid 10% longer off the tee. Thanks again for your comments, and have fun out there! Tom
@@SagutoGolf Hi, thank you very much for the informative reply, appreciate it. Yes, the golf swing is dynamic and has multi arcs and radius curves. I realize that with the flying wedge. It certainly is building my core area muscles, I'm sore. Though the swing you teach is certainly very reliable and has good power. Keep up the good work. peace love light
The vast majority of us can, Jim!... Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the video. I endeavor through my instruction not to provide a temporary desert oasis but instead a permanent escape from the abyss to the land of golfing milk and honey!! Cheers! Tom

Hi Tom - I've recently been focusing on getting the tension out of my arms and feeling the whoosh of the club head - which has helped me gain distance. I'm now trying this tip but it feels like there's a conflict - I can't seem to do as you suggest without tensing my arms. Any suggestions?
Hi @sue Mason, Staying connected without being tense are not mutually exclusive! Just try to emphasize the upper arm connections to the sides of your chest while keeping the forearms and wrists "soft". You can also try sticking a tee under each armpit and then hitting balls with that same "whoosh feeling while keeping the tees in place throughout the entire swing. I hope that helps! Tom
Mr. Saguto, thanks for your positive energy and excellent golf coaching. I have been convincing myself that I was swinging deeper, getting my hands behind my right shoulder. Feel versus real episode! I went to Goftec here and Boise, and watched myself on video several times. Boy was I off. Once I corrected I added 20 yards to a very straight six iron shot. Yay! Thanks.
Now that's what I'm talking about, Kevin. Nicely done!! I regularly preach on the difference between "feel vs. real", but oftentimes an exaggerated feel is what we need to really seal the deal!...😆 Keep up the great work!! Tom
Coach i have issues in hitting the driver ,i have been doing well with my irons with your swing just need you to tweak my driver please advice thanks from singapore
Hi Paul, I noticed from a separate comment that you found the driver lesson video. I hope that helped! Oftentimes when golfers are hitting everything well except for the driver it can be attributed to one of the following: 1) They don't start with - or maintain - enough weight on the front side. In general with the driver we should add a little more front weight load at address - more like 60/40 instead of the 55/45 prescribed for the other clubs. This forward weight should gradually increase to the top of the backswing (70/30) and build further on the downswing - approximately 80/20 halfway down, 90/10 impact, and 95/5 finish. 2) Their hips are not continuing their lateral slide through impact. This is common with the driver as the wider stance means that the hips have a greater distance to travel. If the hips stop moving laterally towards the target on the downswing then their rotation takes over, changing the low point and rerouting the club. This can produce a variety of undesirable results including fat and thin contact, topped shots and popups, straight pulls, and “banana” slices. 3) They are not allowing the length of the driver to dictate the backswing path and are getting too steep as a result. The longer shaft of the driver encourages more of an around the body backswing as established by the shaft plane at address. It may "feel" flat as you take it back along the shaft plane for the first few feet, but as long as you maintain the "weight forward, shoulder down, and hands in" components while allowing the club to work around you, it should put you in the proper position at the top so you can attack the ball from the inside. Love it! I am trying to spot one thing but it happens so fast. In your demonstration warm up swings, your left arm points to 9 o’clock. When you swing to hit I see your arm to to 10 o’clock. What’s going on with the right elbow at that point?
Jeremy - When the left arm goes to 10:00 in the actual swing it's just because I'm making a fuller hip and shoulder turn in comparison to the abbreviated warm up swing. At the top of the backswing my right elbow is a few inches off my torso while the upper arm connections to the chest remain intact; the elbow is folded 90 degrees and properly positioned for transition into the downswing. Tom
@@SagutoGolf Thanks man. When I first started playing my right elbow would go behind my torso. Kind of like in baseball where they tell you to keep that elbow up. Now at setup I make note of where my right elbow is and use it as a reference point to point my elbow at when I’m in that 10 or 11 o’clock area.
Yes, Tyler - it’s the same swing with every club in your bag. Just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. Also, the progressively widening stance as we move through the longer clubs necessitates that the hips travel a greater distance laterally in the downswing, because if the hips stop their lateral slide towards the target prior to impact their rotation takes over, changing the low point and rerouting the club across the ball, thereby causing an out-to-in glancing blow and producing a variety of undesirable results. Tom, this is outstanding. But...Why is your back foot pointed out? Shouldn’t it be @ 90 degrees? My 10yr old has picked up this same habit. When I showed him the video he said “see... his feet are in a V too”. Pls advise🙏🏽⛳️
Tom teaches keeping both feet slightly angled out. He said it makes it easier to turn your hips and is easier on your body. It definitely makes it easier to turn
@@pamelamartini9030 easier on the back swing yes. But it’s going the opposite way of the finish.... I would think that puts undue strain on the right knee? Hogan says to keep it at 90 degrees, but it’s okay to cheat your left toe out a little. I hope Tom weighs in.
Hi Ryan, Kudos to your 10 year-old because he's got it!! Weight forward 55/45 (up to 60/40 with the longer clubs), both feet flared out approximately 10-20 degrees, and the knees similarly angled outward are prescribed setup features of Stack & Tilt. This orientation facilitates a stress-free, flowing motion back and through, resulting in a very body-friendly, consistent, powerful swing. Mr. Hogan was not textbook Stack & Tilt because he did allow the lead knee to work inward somewhat and thus had some shift in pressure to his trail side. In S&T, because we never leave our front side the lead knee does not kick inward and instead flexes directly downward during the backswing in the same direction as it was oriented at address. The right knee gradually straightens during the backswing, and due to the flared out position it facilitates an effortless 45 degrees of inclined hip turn. This means that the shoulders only need to turn an additional 45 degrees in order to achieve a full 90 degree turn without any torquing or stress on the body. Tom, I understand the concept, of one trigger but at some point, you lose that connection near the top of the back swing. You pecs and arms become disconnected when the right arm bends. Maybe I am missing something. Please explain further, I love the concept but need more understanding. Thank you
Hi Scott, Have a look at the swing of Stack and Tilt co-founder Mike Bennett: ruclips.net/video/SLjwU_1Cc7o/видео.html It's okay to have a little gap between the trail elbow and the side of the chest, but you definitely want to keep the upper arm/chest connection intact. I'm a big advocate of golfers getting their clubs professionally fitted. We're all unique in our physical attributes, so there is no reason that we should try to fit our respective swings to a stock grip size, shaft length, flex, lie angle, etc. Let's have the equipment accommodate us and not vice versa! I was working on this recently because I had became disconnected, my next problem was due to lack of confidence I started to snatch and take the Club back far to fast, so basically not winding up my Back Swing. It wasn’t until someone said my Back Swing was really Fast, it then made sense. When I played at my Peak my back swing was slow and deliberate and could feel myself coiling, especially with my Driver, I didn’t have to think about coming back to the Ball or my follow through it just happened. My Best Drives it felt like the Club was almost pulling my arms out of my sockets after the Ball had gone. I have looked at a few Touring Professionals Back Swings and the majority are slow and deliberate but there are many that are also fast, I mainly put that down to the physical attributes as the Modern Players spend a lot more time working in the Gym on the Muscles needed to Work the Club. It’s definitely something worth experimenting with, but for many of us I don’t think there is any better system of trying to coil like a spring and winding up the energy force for a powerful and effortless Swing.
There is no universally ideal tempo, Peter. We each have to dial in our own unique internal metronome and find the rhythm that performs best for our swing, be it Nick Price, Ernie Els, or somewhere in between. TS
Relative to some, yes. Relative to others, not so much. What is deemed "fast" or "slow" is left to the eyes of the beholder. The key is to find and dial in YOUR ideal tempo. Then you'll learn to feel when you get too quick or slow relative to that.

@Chic 33,
I truly appreciate your kind words and I am very glad to learn that my channel's instruction has benefited your game to such an extent; you've obviously done an excellent job digesting the lesson content, incorporating it into your swing, and taking ownership of it!!

T-Tommy you're the best man! Had not golfed in 3 weeks and went to visit my folks...dad and i played 9 holes. I shot 2 over by just plugging into the lesson you gave me via internet....this is so solid! Keep it simple brother! You say more when you say less.
Your comment makes me think of the Alison Krauss Song with the lyrics "You say it best when you say nothing at all"...😆😆
However, I do agree and am making a conscious effort to keep the length of future videos in that 7-8 minute sweet spot whenever possible (plus it's less work for me as well!).
Anyway, that's some fantastic playing - I'm glad that lesson worked well for you!!

Cheers!

I think this may possibly be the best golf video I've ever seen.
Thanks George - I'm very glad to know that this lesson resonated well with you!!
Cheers!

I spent months during lockdown around in my local park as the Golf clubs in Ireland were closed. Many frustrating hours trying to figure out the golf swing. In the last week it finally all clicked into place thanks to your tip of thinking of the golf swing like a baseball swing. Your different approach really helped. Keep up the great work. Thanks Tom.

Oftentimes it is necessary to convey the same concept in different ways so it will resonate with a broader spectrum of players.
Anyway, I'm glad to know that these lessons benefited you!!
Tom
Not sure how you always get a few thumbs down on these great videos but anyway, awesome educational video as usual 👍👊
Unfortunately they're out there, Justin, prowling about the world seeking the ruin of anyone's enjoyment of this great game. Fortunately most of them are so intensely enraged over alternative methods of hitting a ball with a stick that they possess neither the wherewithal, the inclination, nor the demeanor to reproduce, and that's something I'll give my thumbs up to.....😆

Brian
Tom, would you recommend practicing with a small towel under right and left arms? Thanks.
Hi Shawn,
Standard Stack and Tilt instruction actually recommends the "tee drill" in which you stick a tee under each armpit and hit balls while trying to keep both tees in place throughout the entirety of the swing. A small towel under each upper arm will work fine as well; just remember that they need to stay there from setup to finish in order to ensure that the connections were maintained.
Cheers!

I have just shot 11 under my handicap, which I attribute to these videos. Love the teaching approach and have told everyone (Well they ask really).
This is a good I'll incorporate it but Tom another big one that really works is a LOT of turning into the right hip on backswing makes everything work so much better!
@Asone82,
I'm glad to know that you're enjoying my channel's content and that these lessons are benefiting you!
The school's intuitive course layout greatly simplifies the entire process through succinct, step-by-step videos, and I'm regularly adding new content. This will really put you on the fast track towards learning everything in a well-organized, self-guided fashion. It’s winter time here in Idaho. When it hits mid 40s and no wind, we are playing. It’s difficult to get a lot of turn with 37 layers on but having just one swing thought is nice because we want to hit and get back into a heated cart. Thanks for the lesson.
Hi Mitch,
Up in PA we would play if it was upper 30's and no wind, so I fully understand what you're saying, and it came with the added bonus of the feeling that we were cheating nature by stealing a day back from winter!

Hi Tim,
Sorry that your detailed comment fell into the abyss!!
Perhaps you may find some content in there that will resonate well with you.
If you haven't already done so and would like to get on the fast track towards really owning this swing, my best suggestion is that you consider joining the SagutoGolf online school.
Well today, I had dozens of those shots. Smashed tee shots, beautiful approach shots, and a few long albeit par putts that found the bottom of the cup. My consistency today was quite remarkable, and I truly owe it to what I am learning from Tom.

@@SagutoGolf It is my pleasure as well good sir! It's amazing to find you after the many many videos I have watched, and yet you were the black sheep, the golden ticket to high performance consistency.

@@SagutoGolf Net 73 in todays medal need to practice what you tell me.
Hi @sue Mason,
Staying connected without being tense are not mutually exclusive! Just try to emphasize the upper arm connections to the sides of your chest while keeping the forearms and wrists "soft". You can also try sticking a tee under each armpit and then hitting balls with that same "whoosh feeling while keeping the tees in place throughout the entire swing.
I hope that helps!

Tom
Coach i have issues in hitting the driver ,i have been doing well with my irons with your swing just need you to tweak my driver please advice thanks from singapore
Hi Paul,
I noticed from a separate comment that you found the driver lesson video. I hope that helped!
Oftentimes when golfers are hitting everything well except for the driver it can be attributed to one of the following:
1) They don't start with - or maintain - enough weight on the front side.

Now at setup I make note of where my right elbow is and use it as a reference point to point my elbow at when I’m in that 10 or 11 o’clock area.
can you utilize this same this thought with a drive and hybrids?

@@Oprtnst it's common to the Stack and Tilt swing which is used and promoted by Tom to great effect.
Hi Ryan,
Kudos to your 10 year-old because he's got it!!

TS
@@SagutoGolf I realise that as I recently watched Tommy Fleetwood, his tempo is very fast
Relative to some, yes. Relative to others, not so much. What is deemed "fast" or "slow" is left to the eyes of the beholder. The key is to find and dial in YOUR ideal tempo. Then you'll learn to feel when you get too quick or slow relative to that.
