Should we be worried about what’s happening in Alabama libraries? You might have seen the news about the drama happening in Alabama libraries - book bans, book challenges, and even the Autauga-Prattville library director getting fired on March 14. Across Alabama, libraries are being questioned for the content in the books they provide to their communities, which has created new questions about censorship in libraries. What does the future look like for our libraries, and do book challenges and bans mean more censorship for our communities?
