Tennessee is 2 years away from being just “Bad”. That’s only if they see significant improvement in every aspect of the team. What HC with any kind of resume would want that job? Knoxville has become the “killing fields” of the coaching profession.

A- overall is awfully generous for them. Their defense was leaky AND their Cotton Bowl performance against OU was nothing short of horrendous.
As a Florida fan, I agree that a B- for defense is very generous. A C, maybe a C+ at most. But dude, stop trying to act like the Florida team in the Cotton Bowl was the Florida team for the rest of the season. Bowl games are, always have been, and always will be a joke. All that matters is the CFP, and as this year demonstrated so very well, that is a joke too!

Quick jab at Clemson was a nice touch
Swinney was unbelievably foolish to make those "#11 ranking" comments to the media. Ohio State was already motivated after last year's controversial loss, that just gave them every other bit of energy they needed. Many Buckeye fans have said this season was worth it just for beating Clemson, even though they didn't win the title.
@@thunderbird1921 If Swinney was right (hypothetically; he wasn't) and Ohio was "#11" quality, and Bama curb-stomped Ohio (which they did), then Clemson would have been utterly suffocated by the Tide! By transitive property of college football, we beat Clemson by a LOT.

Conference title, playoff appearance, facing the _one_ team you just want to beat SO SO SO bad but have just come up _so so so short_ against, then blowing them out on national television. We got blown out by Bama but... it’s Bama. You could kind of see it coming. Covid outbreak the week of the game didn’t help anything. Trey Sermon breaking his collar bone on the first play didn’t help either. Bama still would have won by 3 scores anyway. Sad way to end the year, but a great season.

@@genelegear5418 Personally, I don't like him because he tends to shape his opinions around the most popular narrative at a given time. When he talks about something important it comes off as fake, and frankly, I don't like him because he was one of the first sports-casters to call for the outright cancellation of the college football season despite Covid not really being a danger to people younger than 60. Sure there are outliers, but he panicked because it was the trendy thing to do. So that's why I don't like him! :)

Covid wasn’t just about dying or living, it causes damage to organs and there is a permanent heart disease in about 20% of everyone who contracts it. You had no idea how your RNA would interact with it. And people under 60 were definitely how the disease got transmitted because they thought it was no threat to them.
Then there were a lot more younger people like me who have compromised immune systems than y’all realized, and people in their 20s, 30s and 40s were near death on ventilators.
Now everyone is acting like it’s over with, 60% of people in the south are refusing to get vaccinated and here comes the next more potent and infectious strain and infections are climbing again with the new strain leading the way.
