You're absolutely right about buying a Honda Shadow for a starter bike. I bought a 1984 VT700C for $1400.00 in 1997 and sold it in 2013 for $1700.00 - Put a tune up on her, a set of tires and brakes, kept up on the oil changes and rode her everywhere. One of the best owner experiences I've had with a motorcycle. So much so, in 2017 I bought a 1999 Shadow VT1100 Ace Toure. Awesome Bike!!
No indicating in this video either.. I've been watching your videos for years now. And you really need to start doing that man. I've been riding myself for six years now & people not indicating is downright dangerous. Just a thought.. Stay safe!!
Was actually gonna go pickup an 02 shadow 600 today for my first bike and strolled across this video. Made me want the bike even more, I rode around on a vintage 2 stroke honda aero 50 for a while and I cant stop buying hondas lol this probably my 5th or 6th so far. I love the way the rear fender looks on these bikes
I just purchased a 1100 shadow Sabre 2007. At first I was wondering if I made the wrong decision. This video has put my doubts to rest. Many Thanks for all the videos!
I came here for the Motorcycles but I also love the words of wisdom. My neighbour had a Honda Shadow. It fit me good. I was concerned about the weight. I’m interested in either the new Honda Rebel or the Harley Street.
I bought a brand new street glide cvo battleship grey. Been riding for 28 years, all crotch rockets. Traded in my panigale s for my first Harley. I seen what I wanted and said I’ve gotta have that bike. No I’m not rich. I’m a steel mill worker. But yes I’m single and do what I want. Lol
I actually just came across your guys RUclips channel the other night while watching zx14r video's and really liked it! I also then realised you guys are local to me and looked up where at your business is and I really would like to come meet you guys and maybe in the near future buy a bike from your shop! But after watching the first two minutes of this video I became even more of a fan after you said about starting the day off right with the Lord's word and I now know I definitely need to come see you guys in the near future awesome start to a video!
Back in the day before Honda hit our shores, British bikes we're the rage,my first bike was a BSA 441Victor,great starter bike that was pretty fast for it's size, traded it for a 750 triumph Daytona awesome bike with the ladies 😎
My first bike was a Ducati S2R 800, which is believe it or not my dream bike. Bought a Benelli 502C for more comfort but it lacked power. Sold the Benelli and bought for about 2500 a Honda Super Magna V45 and it's my go to bike for long trips.
I got an R6 for the first time on the street after aceing MSF with the Honda Rebel. I must have never broke 8k RPM for days then eventually 10k. Then eventaully 12k but then I had RPM issues.. had to change spark plugs and the full RPM band came to life. Looking down and seeing triple digits is cool.
I bought a new rebel 500 as my first bike about a year ago. While I love that bike, I do kind of wish that I had listened to this advice. I guess it's tried and true advice for a reason. I'd probably be considering what bike to upgrade to right about now instead of wishing that I could upgrade. I'm locked into a financing plan. Whatever... still love my rebel...
So in Australia, we need to sit on our L's(Learners) for 3-12months then Red P's(Pre-Provisional)for 1 year then our Green P's(Provisional) for 2 years, and then our Black License(full License). When i eventually get my Black License if i were to buy a bike from you guys can i ship the bike too Australia?
For avg height people...I think Honda rebel (not new model) is a great starter bike. You buy it cheap then you can sell it for what you paid to the next starter
D L Hey. Im 5'7" myself. its prefect to learn on. It's small but not too small to get the feel of riding and gain experience. Like i posted above, buy one for like $1500 or less then sell it for the exact same price to put toward a new bike.
Thanks! Glad to hear that I'm not alone in this one! I'm partial to a couple of other (larger) bikes, but, I like the idea of a cheap "trainer." I've ridden before, but, it's been years...and like with a bicycle...you never forget how to fall down! :-) (rather do that on a $1500 bike than an $10,000 one....)
D L I have a harley fatboy and 1985 Honda rebel, that was 25 years old and ran like a top. Don't take the rebel in the highway, it doesn't have the power to blend in. Stay on regular streets and just ride. Don't listen to people who talk trash about it, the experience you gain will absolutely help you safely step up to a bigger bike when you're ready. Hell, you can outgrow that bike in a month or 2and the knowledge and experience gained is still 100% worth it. Just my 2 cents
My very first bike was a Honda, I hardly did anything other than fill with gas and go and oil the chain occasionally. Changing oil was an after thought, as long as it was full I rode it. it never broke down and I rode it hard.
Great video, Honda is great but a old Harley Davidson is one of my motorcycle dreams ... Just cruising on the roads, the feeling of freedom and the awesome sound that’s what I want!!! AeroR Entertainment 🎥🏍💨
Stop dreamin' and start cruisin' -- Sean's got a Harley at his shop right now.... just sayin' :-) Good luck! (I'm in a similar boat, but itchin' for either a Bolt or Vulcan....)
My sportster 1200 was the best first bike I ever had. Nothing like getting on and hearing a bunch of cranking and then a roar into life. The stupid thing leaked everywhere, and whenever I went on ANY trip over 80 miles it would leave me working on it in the parking lot of a standard oil or some other gas station. I WILL NEVER buy a Harley again. I’ve seen Yamahas and Honda’s twice as old that run perfect and never break down. And the sporty was only 10 years old and had 20,000 miles.
Harleys are overrated as long as your on 2 wheels it don't matter no matter a old honda c70 to a Hayabusa were all achieving the same goals the wind in our beards and the friendships it all involves

1100 asafirst bike? Eh. For somebody who's ridden dirt bikes, or at least sport quads and knows how the clutch and, shifting and braking works, maybe. For most people with no experience, even the 750 Shadow is a lot of bike.
I took my MSF course last year, havent ridden since, and just bought a 2007 shadow spirit 1100. No problems riding it. I'm just over 200 lbs. If I would have got something smaller, I dont think I would have been comfortable. The weight is really low in the bike.
As long as bikes like this are available people that can't afford a lot can still enjoy the experience.
A guy I know told me the biggest bike a beginner needs is a 750. I bought a 93 honda shadow 1100. 35k miles for $900. She's a sweet ol girl
He should clarify if he’s talking about a 2 or 4 cylinder. That’s night and day

My first bike was a 2002 Honda Shadow 1100. Mine was purple! Loved it! Now I have a big Suzuki Intruder 1500lc. Love the words of wisdom!! God Bless!
No indicating in this video either.. I've been watching your videos for years now. And you really need to start doing that man. I've been riding myself for six years now & people not indicating is downright dangerous. Just a thought.. Stay safe!!

I rarely agree 100% with someone on youtube, but I agree completely
I just picked up a 1999 shadow for my first bike, $600, a steal! And it is fantastic.
That thing sounds like an old Volkswagen van.
running on 3 cylinders with a bad exhaust leak
Bully 😂
The Beetle sounds pretty much the same
I bought a brand new street glide cvo battleship grey. Been riding for 28 years, all crotch rockets. Traded in my panigale s for my first Harley. I seen what I wanted and said I’ve gotta have that bike. No I’m not rich. I’m a steel mill worker. But yes I’m single and do what I want. Lol
xox CUJO xox I strive for that life

+Dakota Reider that's awesome. You should swing by something
this is my first bike. I love it, blue collar bobbers is making kits for these now.
Wow I just checked them out awesome tip man... did you put a kit on yours ?
Loudubbs22 no I've just been following there stuff for a while. it's a little pricey, but it looks good.
Back in the day before Honda hit our shores, British bikes we're the rage,my first bike was a BSA 441Victor,great starter bike that was pretty fast for it's size, traded it for a 750 triumph Daytona awesome bike with the ladies 😎
Hello, could you describe differences with comparision to shadow 750?
2007 honda shadow spirit 1100 will be my first bike! getting it Friday! very excited about it!
That's some good advice your grandpa had.
My first bike was a Ducati S2R 800, which is believe it or not my dream bike. Bought a Benelli 502C for more comfort but it lacked power.
Sold the Benelli and bought for about 2500 a Honda Super Magna V45 and it's my go to bike for long trips.
I like the reviews, I love the words of wisdom
Sean some great insight on this video. I completely agree with every you said concerning a first bike. Exactly what I am in the middle of doing.
I had a 96 shadow spirit 4 speed trans.and was a great bike...
Nice start with the Word of God! I just bought a Hyosung Aquila 2009 for my first bike it's a 250 cc any feed back will be appreciated
I've been interested in Hyosung. what's your opinion of it so far?
I went from a 400 Honda to an 1100 .I found my love .shadow sabre rocks
I got an R6 for the first time on the street after aceing MSF with the Honda Rebel. I must have never broke 8k RPM for days then eventually 10k. Then eventaully 12k but then I had RPM issues.. had to change spark plugs and the full RPM band came to life. Looking down and seeing triple digits is cool.
I started on a r3 got a 636 now I have a Honda shadow 750 even tho it’s slower I like it it’s fun feels good and it has good torque for what it is
Did I miss the part where “you get on it”...?🤔
88149288 No you didn't miss it....he got on it at 4:15....it almost put me to sleep😎
This is exactly where I'm at right now; I just want to ride and I don't really know what I want but the bike needs to be under $1100.
The dial is something I’m going to need to get use to.

How did the previous owner mount those highway pegs with no bars? Seem to work I guess I need to try that out lol
And I agree for example the 2015 mustang gt’s lost over $20k in value already lol
Shadows are great bikes, reliable, reasonable performance, economical and FUN TO RIDE!
What it means is that wisdom comes from reading the word. Girls come from lots of shiney chrome
I plan on getting a shadow or magna.
My first bike was a 2016 indian Springfield.
Looking at buying an 04 shadow 1100 for my first bike
Sorry if you already covered it, but I'm curious what jacket you have on in this vid.
Is 1100cc a little much for a newbie?
I just bought my first bike ever 1982 honda magna 750. I never rode before but it felt heavy
How’s two up highway riding on this bike?
Hi Guys hope all.is well .Can anyone tell me if a honda blackbird is advisable for a beginner. Thanks

Just bought a 2006 Softail Deluxe...rode smaller bikes 25 years ago and this feels like a huge leap...but chicks ride these so...
For avg height people...I think Honda rebel (not new model) is a great starter bike. You buy it cheap then you can sell it for what you paid to the next starter
Doc, what's your def of "avg?" I'm 5'7" (on a good day)...

Just got one for $1700 she gorgeous!
What part of PA are you located, the roads look nice to ride on. I usually stay between NJ and NY
Dr. Crentist, your dentists name is Crentist???
+Dr. Crentist lancaster
That was my old bike srkcycles....traded it at Motorvation
+Zackary Ellerman lol yeah that's where I got it from
Srkcycles any questions about mods, just ask!
I'll bet you rode it like a rented mule before you found a sucker to take it off your hands. lol.
Zackary Ellerman Believe the bike Sean is ridin is the Shadow Sabre 1100. Sounds that way. Looks that way from the seat
My first bike was my sportster 1200 that i have now love that bike
started on a 700c magna upgraded to a v65 now im working on a 1992 sportster i love the sound
My very first bike was a Honda, I hardly did anything other than fill with gas and go and oil the chain occasionally. Changing oil was an after thought, as long as it was full I rode it. it never broke down and I rode it hard.
"change the oil...every leap year." Dude! I was drinking coffee! Don't do that to me! :-)
D L H
Honda shadow and harley dyna are the best bikes ever!
Great video, Honda is great but a old Harley Davidson is one of my motorcycle dreams ...
Just cruising on the roads, the feeling of freedom and the awesome sound that’s what I want!!!

Great looking one, shadow rocks
Nice slip rookie! ;)
And don't pick up a bike you can't test ride lol. I have a pretty good idea if I'm going to regret it or not within the first 5 minutes.
i rather prefer a plastic milk crate to bags.
Optimist
Why is there a gta thumbnail?
+LispyJared it's a RUclips glitch. lol that's not the thumbnail I put on there and I can't change it
Srkcycles oh yeah I see it now
I don't care for cruisers so my first bike was an 05 Suzuki GS 500F and still ride it great bike and great gas mileage
Yeah but a Honda doesn't have Soul.
whaaaaat??
I would sub again if I could!
That bike sounds terrible

That thing sounds like a old civic
Are you not in business anymore?
