The song is is good because of how relaxed the beat is compared how “strong” or over the top the beats were compared to other beats like the in new tank. Sky has weak (relaxed) beat but it’s till a good song.
It's the only good song imo.. only 2 others actually stood out but I wouldn't say they're good.. but the moment I heard the synths on SKY and then Carti started rapping I was addicted instantly.. and I think that says a lot since I never liked Carti or my opinion don't count idk lmao tbf I could count songs of his I like on one hand
@@zanderblue5089 it's the most mainstream appealing song on the album that's why you like it, a lot of the songs in here are pretty experimental and hard to get into on one listen. Carti's music in general is an acquired taste.

Then I heard how it apparently grows on pll so I listened a few more times and it just got worse. Only songs I go back to are Beno! and Go2DaMoon, but onky because that song is mostly Kanye (my fav artist)

The second part is die-lit carti with a hyperpop influence in the beats. Either way I think both parts are great, and the album will definitely be looked back on with good eyes

This arguably needs a Redux more than even MBDTF did, the way every song gets better with every listen is mind blowing.
Look at the tracks he listed as his fav tho. Those r the songs that everyone likes now. He knew what this project was about when it first dropped. The “grower” songs are the songs that he likes so this project won’t get any better for him and The generic trap songs which usually grow off ppl r the ones he doesn’t like.

Now with Donda and CLB out, personally I think, this album holds it weight up. Kanye can release something like Yeezus and it’s considered genius, but Carti releases WLR and everyone hates it because it doesn’t sound like Die Lit. While WLR is not perfect it has some fantastic ideas and is definitely on a whole different level, if you think that level is garbage or pristine at least Carti is the only mainstream artist to actually try something different with his work recently.
Well a lot of people hated on yeezus. Hopsin himself burned the disc with yeezus. Only a couple years later did some people change their minds on it. WLR is good, but yeezus is a short 10 track album whereas wlr is 24 songs with tons of misses in between.
Yeah like @Kharjo said, if it was more refined, I reckon WLR could be viewed as a classic and even more of a defining moment in Carti's career.

M3tamorphosis is so good, I can see why people wouldn’t like it, but the whole song itself really just puts you in that mood where “can’t nobody tell you shit”

I am a fan of the album and I have no qualms with this score. The mixing made songs that could've been great decent, and I feel like carti doesn't maintain that punk vibe throughout the second half of the album which is what made the first half special for me.

I kinda like that the album had the punk experimental songs and the ‘die lit’ type songs. Sure, it makes the album less consistent but i really like both. And i’m not always in the mode for those aggressive songs
@@jilla6594 I agree and disagree. A quality album doesn’t only have musically pleasing sounds, but the album is meant to make the listener feel a certain way by conveying a message. When you have vastly different types of sounds throughout the record, that message becomes a lot more difficult to convey. Albums that do change throughout tend to have a specific reason for doing so, an example of this is Igor. On this record it kind of just sounds like Carti couldn’t figure out which sound he liked more.
Exactly. In Utero by Nirvana is a perfect example of this. Ran with a pleb-crushing theme that defied expectations of Nevermind-loving listeners
