    Even a small saw can cut that.
    Cut as deep as you can normally, then cut wedges out either side of your first cut to make room for the saw to fit in deeper.
    It's slow work, but its possible.
    It's also why I carry a Stihl 660 Magnum with a 25" bar on it.
    If that can't clear a tree from the road, then it's clearly run out of 2 stroke fuel.

    • @ianweal3081
      @ianweal3081 5 месяцев назад +1

      Correct call to leave chainsaw outa sight, not smart admitting you're carrying one though.
      Yes it can be done but isn't Barrington Tops a NSW National Park?
      Twas the last time I looked hence Absolutely Illegal to carry a chain saw let alone utilise it.
      I totally disagree with that ruling when it comes to clearing tracks, but yobbos cut even green timber for firewood hence the stance, no chainsaws in NSW N/P's.
      If the boys videoed utilising a saw, well what would have been the outcome when complaints were forwarded to N/P's, unfortunately far too many do gooder Greenies out there, the ones that just turn their noses up to the destruction feral pigs cause, if we trashed the bush as these pigs do we'd be locked up, but it's a cute animal, RIGHT.

    Great video
    Some might think this is a pedantic point, but sledge hammering the back end of your hatchet head will shorten its life, the sides over time will deform & the stock will dislodge.
    If the hatchet is not doing the job then it means you need a full sized axe. & for that reason I just take a full-size axe with me.
    I guess if it is a cheap hatchet most wont care, but regardless of the cost of the tool I would rather it last & spend the $15-$30 on something else. There is no reason why even a cheap hatchet or axe can't last almost a life time if looked after properly.

    • @s3uoq
      @s3uoq 5 месяцев назад

      @ianweal3081 ok didn't know it was in a NP but going off what they said, sounds like they still need to do a course or get some training from an arborist because there are plenty of places you can clear a track and do it with a small saw to a big tree down. I never go 4wding, camping or touring without one because it can ruin a trip having to turn back or find alternative route.

      @tadeuszmichaelwlodarczyk3120 they're 36 volt and there's 3 different batteries. When I've used them, it was the odd here and there few trees and mostly bushes and the battery lasted me all day. I don't agree with the practice, should be allowed to clear tracks as in Victoria but unfortunately yobbos cutting timber, both green & dry seasoned for camp fires caused this stance in NSW.
