    not sure if you know but carbon dust it worse than asbestos when sanding it creates microscopic hooks which get permanently lodged in your lungs. I was taught to wear a positive pressure mask when doing any carbon prep i was learning to make air-frame structures.

      Thanks for the note, I will be sure to use a mask and advise others to do the same.

    I build myself a 3" toothpick, that can fly decent with a 2s 18650 battery and I got 31min flight time, and I can even use it with a 450mah 4s for hard freestyle

    I built two 4" LR quads a couple of years ago. They still work great!

      Awesome. Yes I think alot of people believe now that you may as well just build a 5 inch with a GPS but I really love the way this thing flies. And I just built a Li-ion pack and now this thing is the ultimate explorer with 1,8w vtx

      @@flippingfpv I live in the EU if you want to fly legally a FPV quad that is heavier than 250 grams needs to be at least 150 meters away from people & buildings. 5" quads handle wind much better but you can legally only fly them over empty fields...

    Hmm, seeing those videos I need to get back to the FPV stuff, havent flown since 2 years.... too bad. I wasnt good at all in piloting FPV drones, but since my first drone was a Eachine Tyro 129 (bought 2 of them) which are 7inch copter, I liked the bigger copters.

      7 inch drones are alot cheaper to build now. You should go for it.

    What are the odds man. I just received the very same 1504 2300KV motors just last week to build a 4" LR quad too lol.

      Haha awesome! Well I can tell you they work really well. No heating at all.

    Very nice build! I like you sharing your thoughts 😊 Almost all the time I'm doing the same: cheap parts on one side and expensive were it is needed. Flies great Your setup 😮😍

      Thank you. Yes it flies well. These DarwinFPV motors are actually very good in the end. Tested it with my new Li-ion battery and it is doing a solid 20 mins but with no HD cam

    A tip for getting GPS lock faster: connect the FC to a powerbank using a USB cable, that should power the GPS on but not the VTX.
    PS. You seem to get a lot of motor static in your video. What capacitor did you use?

    • @kmieciu4ever
      @kmieciu4ever 18 дней назад

      With proper capacitor you can have almost no engine noise: ruclips.net/video/N-ksyqQ_vZ0/видео.html

    • @flippingfpv
      @flippingfpv  17 дней назад

      Hey I just used the capacitor that came with the FC

    • @flippingfpv
      @flippingfpv  17 дней назад

      I'm not too bothered with this hack. I'm quite happy to plug in and wait. The FC isn't sending enough power to the GPS with a power brick. But I'm getting do much flight time so I just plug in the li-ion while I'm setting up.

      @@flippingfpv I use Speedybee FC with 4V5 pads that power my RX and GPS through USB. Then I just watch telemetry on my radio that shows me the number of satellites.

      @flippingfpv I have 4 analog quads and none of them have the kind of static like you do...

    How do you like the motors? I have the Darwin baby ape 2 with them on it was thinking about upgrading them weak magnets

    • @flippingfpv
      @flippingfpv  Месяц назад

      For this long range build the motors are actually great but i can understand them possibly not performing well on a freestyler

    How max min flight did you get?

    • @flippingfpv
      @flippingfpv  13 дней назад

      Longest flight time on the Li-ion battery I built is 21mins - with my 750mah batteries I am getting about 8-12mins depending on the weather and how I fly.

      Ah thank you. I'm trying to decide on the next one: replace my BabyApe with a solid 3.5 inch build or build a 6 inch LR or a 7 inch LR

    I have the DarwinFPV FoldApe 4 which uses these motors. I get about 15 min flight time on a 3s 850 mah battery. The motors apparently are DJI motors actually just rebranded.

    • @flippingfpv
      @flippingfpv  Месяц назад +1

      Hey man, I have heard that and it IS believable because I feel like I have seen these on a DJI drone before :-) And that's amazing flight times on the foldape! Can it carry a little HD cam?
