I understand your security concerns towards Persona. You don't need to do age verification to access the game,. The game is still accessible. I don't think they will use another provider, and I don't even know if other providers may be worse. I don't see a better way. 4. I'm sure YOUR club is better than these other ones. Doesn't matter. I'm a semi-retired dancer who left the few clubs I danced at. What draws you in (As someone who loved to dance) was the attention and the people WILLING to teach you. To SUPPORT you. But some of these people can be snakes. They can sniff out the naivete of a new dancer and latch on. I'm lucky enough to not be as attached to VRC as I was back then, but shit.. If they did catch me earlier, I would've been tied into the drama-filled world of Clubs. Not every club is horrible. But the good ones that treat their staff right and have a respectful and MODERATED community are rare and far in between. I'm still looking myself.
If it's pole dancing, you should look for pole dancing local hobby hubs. I don't see the point in putting mental and social weight on hobbies you actually love. Besides the club attention also brings out the worst of people.

i met somebody who was supposedly making around 500$ to 800$ night in vrc doing just private virtual dances for people you can make alot of money doing it and dont have to be a specific gender either just have a nice avi and be good dancing skills according to them.

Used to go to some dance events but over time i realised it was VERRRRYYY "cliquy," If felt like it was high school. people in the in crowd would refuse to talk to new people and I jsut thought it was very sophmoric at that point, so I stopped attending these things. I checked back about a year later, and most of the server was dead, I assume, because there was a rift and new people stopped showing up because they either couldnt get in, or the people running the club forgot it wasnt just a private server
I don't know what events you want to but most of the ones I went to everyone I got together and met each other it was a good way to meet new people and get new friends who are on your age
Yeah ive been to 2 and they’re really chill. Was the halloween trashbash this year and some other from the same dudes. Love just hearing new music and chilling while talking.
Like I said on my VRChat Steam review, this is a prime example of "Your experience may vary". I only want to be with humble people who knows how to spend their money wisely and can help me decide my future. And those guys and gals are not the ones I want to be friends with.
Ok so I dance, and don't attend these events, but I can rly see the appeal from dancer pov. Finding a space to dance with other people, without any squeakers around can be rly difficult. Like publics are off the cards, and dancing alone can get pre depressing but there are worlds that r good for practice. For that specific type of dance you kind of rely on a lap and even if not its just more fun to be around other people, and taking people to privates tends to give them expectations for more to happen then you might be comfortable with. Its a bit annoying. Obvi irl classes and studios are an option but some ppl are too anxious to go out and join that kind of space or can't afford etc. I think one positive of clubs is that they offer a place for dancers to do their thing so idk, they seem cool. Obvi I have less experience than u and I liked the video, just thought I'd throw two cents on the floor and see if anyone picks them up.
Amazing video and a very level headed view on this kind of content. As for your comments on the Age Verification, while I'm also not a fan of the company they are using I am a fan of the actual system. So in the end no matter what I plan on using this 100%. I just hope that Age Verification is both coming sooner rather then later as well as seeing wide spread adoption in the VRChat community. I'd love to see a situation were everyone is Age Verified and while no system is perfect it would be a massive step in the right direction. As someone that is a community leader (of a small community) I find something like this both exciting and necessary for the safety of the people I'm responsible for. so, hi. former club dance captain here. for some context, this situation happened right after a very heavy breakup with a long-term physical abusive relationship. i used to teach new dancers the dances we did, and we never danced on anyone, just for show and in cages n whatever. so, the story: my boss, who was the very owner of the club, was a great guy, but also greatly into age play/submissiveness. he would surround himself with the extreme degen people or "mommies" of vrchat. i saw his mental health decline and there was nothing i could do about it, talking to him about it never worked, but it is also not my job to keep my boss' mental health in order. anyhow, all this to say we planned a meeting on just regular catching up about the club and ideas we wanted to bring to the table for the dancers, all that. when he invited me, it took me to the puppy playhouse world (yknow the one with the cage downstairs, the rest looks like a regular house). i didn't know where he was, so i'd look everywhere in the house, until i came to the bedroom. i saw my boss getting rawdogged in his b00ty by a furry (male). i was in pure shock, not because "oh we had a meeting, why are you busy" but more because "WHY WOULD YOU INVITE ME TO YOUR ERP SESSION?!?!?!?" i went downstairs, texted that i felt extremely uncomfortable seeing my boss like that, and texted that i was going to leave. he said "no, come back!" and so i did. when i did, they didn't stop. they never acknowledged me. the furry turned his head around and went "who's that" and as they continued my boss replied "oh no one" and i just sat there in the corner. after my paralyzed shock was over, i immediately left and cut off contact with the boss for a while. he kept apologizing, and at some point even said "i thought it would be funny if you were there" which is just pure disgust to me. i felt violated in some way, of my own morals and our meeting, which he fully agreed to and invited me for right before all of that happened. he knew we had a meeting, it just felt so weird, my stomach was turning. anyways, all this to say this was my worst experience, working for a vrchat club and have quit that club and any vr clubbing for that. i soon cut contact and removed my boss as a friend, after we talked about it. before that, i told him i quit, as to not just be rude. but yeah, that was an experience.. i still get nauseous thinking about it.
Just yesterday i was in the black cat and this kid who maybe doesn't even sound 13 years old was talking about the age verification, his exact words were "i cant wait to get around it" and that's scary as hell cuz i know that kids WILL bypass the verification just like so many of them did with Roblox, there needs to be something more done to prevent this i just don't personally have a solution.
Lol, that won’t happen. You have to show your face and provide full information, all of which gets checked, plus that ID will be linked to 1 account. So, EVEN if a child somehow gets around it, if they get banned, they won’t be able to use that ID again. And that's if they smart enough to get around, fake information won't get through..
Hmm, I really like your videos but I feel like you sadly missed out on a huge positive side to this too. This scene does bring a lot of people together and foster a lot of people to engage more in physical activity and keep themselves fit in addition to also being a large catalyst for making new friends. Are there bad actors in the scene? Of course, but it was kinda sad to see that the few bad actors took the majority of the spotilight here. Having been into the scene for a while it brings so much positives with it too that often gets overlooked, and unfortunately that happened yet again. Its a good thing Furedy was there to bring in some positive points too.
That's fair, I'd agree with that. I would argue though that I feel getting involved with the other dance events in game would be more beneficial. Nicer people, Less toxic drinking culture, More varied dances, Less of a focus on sexual aspects. 404, Terminus, and the Just dance community is a big example. Or even mighty gym.

I don't know what events you want to but most of the ones I went to everyone I got together and met each other it was a good way to meet new people and get new friends who are on your age
I used to participate in these dance events (Being a Dancer myself) and i can say with full confidence that it's a waste of time and 99% of the time it's pretty toxic. Stay clear to these events and just do your own thing.

I am going to be very honest, I am thankful I never go to these kinds of 'clubs' again. It just drains your sense of self. When I am in my healthy relationship with my fiancé long after these events, it feels almost like a distant memory, yet eerily fresh as if it was yesterday.
I used to be super involved and work in and around these events with friends. Had up and downs, but its really like yall said in this video. All the problems and people being toxic. How people verify. Everything. I distanced myself from this stuff over a year ago because I didn't wanna be around the constant Toxic and gross nature of most of the people around there anymore. Sure it can be "fun" sometimes. but not as much when your behind the scenes and see everything going on.
Na, I don't think people are toxic, they just trying to hold people accountable for their actions, people don't just spur up drama out of thin air. But sometimes people do try too hard trying to be saints and twist the truth or get misinformed a lot.
Man, I used to work for Rapture as a DJ. The whole process was fine up until the point when the owner dropped out and passed it to someone else. After that, the events started getting weird and not as fun, and most of the original staff when I joined in (I DJ'd from 2020 to early 2022) had left. After that, I just kinda fizzled out there, lost interest. Funny enough, though, they wouldn't let me just leave. To this day, I'm still a "guest" DJ in there. Back in early 2020, if you remember Club Nox, I did security for them as well. Met a long-time friend there who I haven't seen on in a while, though. Nowadays, I don't really do much in the sense of clubs or DJing. If I ever go back to it, it'll be a strict music club basis for me. Tbh I dance like that but it's the thing I've done to make myself happy while I like drink or just have fun with my friends lol. I stick to my own friend group ran clubs and sometimes just do stage dance at bigger clubs but having a cash app in your bio is crazy-
I was so happy when they finally announced the beginning phase of the age-verification rollout. While the provider isn't the best they could've chosen, I think the game's going to be in a much better spot when it's fully rolled out. Although, I'm interested in how public instances are going to turn out, like the dynamic of the adult community. I'm guessing they might become more NSFW-orientated (group public instances that are marked 18+), but we'll only know when it's out.
and if you wanted the whole story it was pretty easy getting a hold of the person who took over the mess and Blacklist before he got deleted and Docs she doesn't mind letting people know the story
Lots of the Persona complaints about the sketchiness are mostly from the early days when it was founded, the systems they use now are fully automated (and most modern ID’s and Passports have hidden patterns in them that these systems recognize that weren’t there in the early days, almost no physical person checks the ID unless an error occurs). But still VRChat would also need a two-factor system for when a user enters a 18+ world/event (as a kid could easily just ask an older sibling to verify for them.
I'm still not a fan of it. You shouldn't really ever share your ID online. That's just asking for your information to get leaked. There unfortunately doesn't seem to be a good way to age verify without this sketchy way though. VRC could ban all NSFW content but then half of their users would leave lol.
I am so tired of VRC being referred to as a game… There is no narrative, there is no ending, there is nothing to complete. It is essentially an interactive social experience akin to the likes of your flat screen social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter (X), Myspace, Instagram, RUclips.
I was a bit confused with 18:50, the self talk moment was hard to tell what was going on. Putting reverb on one of the voices that acts as the devils advocate may help, I don't know if i fully understood what was happening since there is only body language to go off of.
Use to be part of a club as a 3d modeler and went to other club events 2 years ago I've always had a negative experience yeah they connect people but not really long term connections a lot of the people ive meet usually just friend you to friend you and even when you do keep up with them the friendship lacks and you feel like your a awful person clubs are very mentally draining a lot of the 3d modeling side of clubs is they ask last minute for 3d models witch is in possible to do to get a model done and textured and in unity in a day or two unless ur really pushing ur self. Clubs really gave me a sour taste with vrchat. Vrchat connecting people it feels more like a dating app but times 10 its a great game but the more you dive into it the more it ruins ur mental health and over look on people.

I'm in an 18+ "adult activity" group that hosts events (I kinda think the hunter event described may be from that group), and usually the staff are really hardcore about age verification and consent... but there was this ONE event I went to with an event host I hadn't been around before, and he got pretty close to touching my friend in an "adult" way without their permission... >:/ like, inches away from touching before playing dumb. He was also just kinda rude in general. I really hope he's never actually violated consent during events before, I feel like players would be scared to report it to the group...
What is truly the point tho for the people that go you can't feel them dancing on you and you're honest VR or PC you're just watching someone dance on your virtual character through a screen, I feel it's only degrens that stay on VR chat

On one hand, if someone wants to use VR to goon I don't care. On the other hand, this stuff leaks into the general community and has ruined the reputation of the game. The minor related stuff... I am very happy age verification is coming let me say.
You forgot there is another rule with avatars: don't use heavy red avatar. Problem... many avatars you see are high-polygon avatars with a lot wobble and bounce effects. Those avatars are already heavy with over 100,000 polygons and many are around 80-100MB download size, and texture memory can exceed 500MB. They're not very optimized. That is why 80 people in clubs is not simple. You need strong pc to survive it, especially as dancer who must not lag due some visitors. Unless you use function in VRChat to limit amount of avatars and only see at short distance... So far i can see, part of people on VrChat uses heavy "gumroad" luxury street style avatars. I make my avatar ~ 20MB big to download. And stop putting a lot cloth pieces in one avatar, it's not making things better! I hope age verification solve many problems ... and i hope the company Persona don't share things to 3rd party business. Many people care about their ID (especially vtubers and streamers) so sharing some information is big NO.

i have been a dancer in these clubs for almost 2 years now and have even danced under the “supervision” of 2 of the people interviewed - the criticism is justified but only under the aspect if you have been to said events and or "worked" there but the video itself casts a bad light on events and clubs, but this is my opinion if these are your experiences or you have perceived them that way iam sorry but you opinion is ofc valid.- The Minor thing is an issue and even with all the systems it stays a problem not just for "clubs" its an overall issue i mean have you been at a just H oder just B party ? then you know what iam talking about its x10 worse even with the age verification. i have seen the annoucment video and i instandly have 3 ways to bypass it and you know kids are not dumb these days. can it thin out the majority yes!! 100% control no!! But I see a problem here, because it takes the responsibility away from the “staff/club/bouncer/owner” by pointing out that “yes, they were checked by the system". so whats left to say go to one of the events since its virtual you always can X them out (its a rule in every club) so you dont want to be danced on or dont want to see xyz avatar and there is always the option of blocking annoying people and or kids. The nice thing of being a adult is you have the CHOICE to be there or not

I checked back about a year later, and most of the server was dead, I assume, because there was a rift and new people stopped showing up because they either couldnt get in, or the people running the club forgot it wasnt just a private server
I don't know what events you want to but most of the ones I went to everyone I got together and met each other it was a good way to meet new people and get new friends who are on your age

Ok so I dance, and don't attend these events, but I can rly see the appeal from dancer pov. Finding a space to dance with other people, without any squeakers around can be rly difficult. Like publics are off the cards, and dancing alone can get pre depressing but there are worlds that r good for practice. For that specific type of dance you kind of rely on a lap and even if not its just more fun to be around other people, and taking people to privates tends to give them expectations for more to happen then you might be comfortable with. Its a bit annoying. Obvi irl classes and studios are an option but some ppl are too anxious to go out and join that kind of space or can't afford etc. I think one positive of clubs is that they offer a place for dancers to do their thing so idk, they seem cool. Obvi I have less experience than u and I liked the video, just thought I'd throw two cents on the floor and see if anyone picks them up.

As for your comments on the Age Verification, while I'm also not a fan of the company they are using I am a fan of the actual system. So in the end no matter what I plan on using this 100%. I just hope that Age Verification is both coming sooner rather then later as well as seeing wide spread adoption in the VRChat community.
I'd love to see a situation were everyone is Age Verified and while no system is perfect it would be a massive step in the right direction. As someone that is a community leader (of a small community) I find something like this both exciting and necessary for the safety of the people I'm responsible for.

so, hi. former club dance captain here. for some context, this situation happened right after a very heavy breakup with a long-term physical abusive relationship. i used to teach new dancers the dances we did, and we never danced on anyone, just for show and in cages n whatever. so, the story: my boss, who was the very owner of the club, was a great guy, but also greatly into age play/submissiveness. he would surround himself with the extreme degen people or "mommies" of vrchat. i saw his mental health decline and there was nothing i could do about it, talking to him about it never worked, but it is also not my job to keep my boss' mental health in order. anyhow, all this to say we planned a meeting on just regular catching up about the club and ideas we wanted to bring to the table for the dancers, all that. when he invited me, it took me to the puppy playhouse world (yknow the one with the cage downstairs, the rest looks like a regular house). i didn't know where he was, so i'd look everywhere in the house, until i came to the bedroom. i saw my boss getting rawdogged in his b00ty by a furry (male). i was in pure shock, not because "oh we had a meeting, why are you busy" but more because "WHY WOULD YOU INVITE ME TO YOUR ERP SESSION?!?!?!?" i went downstairs, texted that i felt extremely uncomfortable seeing my boss like that, and texted that i was going to leave. he said "no, come back!" and so i did. when i did, they didn't stop. they never acknowledged me. the furry turned his head around and went "who's that" and as they continued my boss replied "oh no one" and i just sat there in the corner. after my paralyzed shock was over, i immediately left and cut off contact with the boss for a while. he kept apologizing, and at some point even said "i thought it would be funny if you were there" which is just pure disgust to me. i felt violated in some way, of my own morals and our meeting, which he fully agreed to and invited me for right before all of that happened. he knew we had a meeting, it just felt so weird, my stomach was turning. anyways, all this to say this was my worst experience, working for a vrchat club and have quit that club and any vr clubbing for that. i soon cut contact and removed my boss as a friend, after we talked about it. before that, i told him i quit, as to not just be rude. but yeah, that was an experience.. i still get nauseous thinking about it.
Just yesterday i was in the black cat and this kid who maybe doesn't even sound 13 years old was talking about the age verification, his exact words were "i cant wait to get around it" and that's scary as hell cuz i know that kids WILL bypass the verification just like so many of them did with Roblox, there needs to be something more done to prevent this i just don't personally have a solution.
Lol, that won’t happen. You have to show your face and provide full information, all of which gets checked, plus that ID will be linked to 1 account. So, EVEN if a child somehow gets around it, if they get banned, they won’t be able to use that ID again. And that's if they smart enough to get around, fake information won't get through..
Hmm, I really like your videos but I feel like you sadly missed out on a huge positive side to this too.
This scene does bring a lot of people together and foster a lot of people to engage more in physical activity and keep themselves fit in addition to also being a large catalyst for making new friends.
Are there bad actors in the scene? Of course, but it was kinda sad to see that the few bad actors took the majority of the spotilight here.
Having been into the scene for a while it brings so much positives with it too that often gets overlooked, and unfortunately that happened yet again.
Its a good thing Furedy was there to bring in some positive points too.

Nicer people, Less toxic drinking culture, More varied dances, Less of a focus on sexual aspects.

I used to participate in these dance events (Being a Dancer myself) and i can say with full confidence that it's a waste of time and 99% of the time it's pretty toxic. Stay clear to these events and just do your own thing.

I am going to be very honest, I am thankful I never go to these kinds of 'clubs' again. It just drains your sense of self. When I am in my healthy relationship with my fiancé long after these events, it feels almost like a distant memory, yet eerily fresh as if it was yesterday.
I used to be super involved and work in and around these events with friends. Had up and downs, but its really like yall said in this video. All the problems and people being toxic. How people verify. Everything. I distanced myself from this stuff over a year ago because I didn't wanna be around the constant Toxic and gross nature of most of the people around there anymore. Sure it can be "fun" sometimes. but not as much when your behind the scenes and see everything going on.
Na, I don't think people are toxic, they just trying to hold people accountable for their actions, people don't just spur up drama out of thin air. But sometimes people do try too hard trying to be saints and twist the truth or get misinformed a lot.

Man, I used to work for Rapture as a DJ. The whole process was fine up until the point when the owner dropped out and passed it to someone else. After that, the events started getting weird and not as fun, and most of the original staff when I joined in (I DJ'd from 2020 to early 2022) had left. After that, I just kinda fizzled out there, lost interest. Funny enough, though, they wouldn't let me just leave. To this day, I'm still a "guest" DJ in there. Back in early 2020, if you remember Club Nox, I did security for them as well. Met a long-time friend there who I haven't seen on in a while, though. Nowadays, I don't really do much in the sense of clubs or DJing. If I ever go back to it, it'll be a strict music club basis for me. Tbh I dance like that but it's the thing I've done to make myself happy while I like drink or just have fun with my friends lol. I stick to my own friend group ran clubs and sometimes just do stage dance at bigger clubs but having a cash app in your bio is crazy-
I was so happy when they finally announced the beginning phase of the age-verification rollout. While the provider isn't the best they could've chosen, I think the game's going to be in a much better spot when it's fully rolled out. Although, I'm interested in how public instances are going to turn out, like the dynamic of the adult community. I'm guessing they might become more NSFW-orientated (group public instances that are marked 18+), but we'll only know when it's out.
and if you wanted the whole story it was pretty easy getting a hold of the person who took over the mess and Blacklist before he got deleted and Docs she doesn't mind letting people know the story
Lots of the Persona complaints about the sketchiness are mostly from the early days when it was founded, the systems they use now are fully automated (and most modern ID’s and Passports have hidden patterns in them that these systems recognize that weren’t there in the early days, almost no physical person checks the ID unless an error occurs).
But still VRChat would also need a two-factor system for when a user enters a 18+ world/event (as a kid could easily just ask an older sibling to verify for them.
I'm still not a fan of it. You shouldn't really ever share your ID online. That's just asking for your information to get leaked. There unfortunately doesn't seem to be a good way to age verify without this sketchy way though. VRC could ban all NSFW content but then half of their users would leave lol.

Use to be part of a club as a 3d modeler and went to other club events 2 years ago I've always had a negative experience yeah they connect people but not really long term connections a lot of the people ive meet usually just friend you to friend you and even when you do keep up with them the friendship lacks and you feel like your a awful person clubs are very mentally draining a lot of the 3d modeling side of clubs is they ask last minute for 3d models witch is in possible to do to get a model done and textured and in unity in a day or two unless ur really pushing ur self. Clubs really gave me a sour taste with vrchat. Vrchat connecting people it feels more like a dating app but times 10 its a great game but the more you dive into it the more it ruins ur mental health and over look on people.

I'm in an 18+ "adult activity" group that hosts events (I kinda think the hunter event described may be from that group), and usually the staff are really hardcore about age verification and consent... but there was this ONE event I went to with an event host I hadn't been around before, and he got pretty close to touching my friend in an "adult" way without their permission... >:/ like, inches away from touching before playing dumb. He was also just kinda rude in general. I really hope he's never actually violated consent during events before, I feel like players would be scared to report it to the group...

You forgot there is another rule with avatars: don't use heavy red avatar.
Problem... many avatars you see are high-polygon avatars with a lot wobble and bounce effects. Those avatars are already heavy with over 100,000 polygons and many are around 80-100MB download size, and texture memory can exceed 500MB. They're not very optimized.
That is why 80 people in clubs is not simple. You need strong pc to survive it, especially as dancer who must not lag due some visitors.
Unless you use function in VRChat to limit amount of avatars and only see at short distance...
So far i can see, part of people on VrChat uses heavy "gumroad" luxury street style avatars. I make my avatar ~ 20MB big to download.
And stop putting a lot cloth pieces in one avatar, it's not making things better!
I hope age verification solve many problems ... and i hope the company Persona don't share things to 3rd party business. Many people care about their ID (especially vtubers and streamers) so sharing some information is big NO.

i have been a dancer in these clubs for almost 2 years now and have even danced under the “supervision” of 2 of the people interviewed - the criticism is justified but only under the aspect if you have been to said events and or "worked" there but the video itself casts a bad light on events and clubs, but this is my opinion if these are your experiences or you have perceived them that way iam sorry but you opinion is ofc valid.- The Minor thing is an issue and even with all the systems it stays a problem not just for "clubs" its an overall issue i mean have you been at a just H oder just B party ? then you know what iam talking about its x10 worse even with the age verification. i have seen the annoucment video and i instandly have 3 ways to bypass it and you know kids are not dumb these days. can it thin out the majority yes!! 100% control no!! But I see a problem here, because it takes the responsibility away from the “staff/club/bouncer/owner” by pointing out that “yes, they were checked by the system". so whats left to say go to one of the events since its virtual you always can X them out (its a rule in every club) so you dont want to be danced on or dont want to see xyz avatar and there is always the option of blocking annoying people and or kids. The nice thing of being a adult is you have the CHOICE to be there or not
