      Woah, woah, woah... don't go for the 911 operator here. I've heard enuf inept 911 operators for sure, but what 95% of people have heard, is the succinct, dramatic splinter of am almost 10 min long call. Please, go online to hear the entirety of her call before you shoot the messenger. God bless, Shannan Gilbert, and the other victims, but she had no idea where she was, she was eerily incoherent, and didn't sound terrified until the very end. It's tragic and yet bizarre also, to hear the uncut call.

      The commissioner during the murders was super corrupt and didn’t want the media attention anywhere nearby, rejecting FBI assistance. If Rex is guilty and killed others in the other states he owns property in (and if the other bodies found in the area are tied to him), that’s such a shame. It all could have been prevented.

    • @WelshChappie
      @WelshChappie 8 месяцев назад +30

      @@heather3383 it was more so former Police Chief James Burke, who the former commissioner appointed so yeah you wouldn't have got one without the other. Many claim Burke and the former commissioner were involved in the serial killings hence turning away the Feds etc. It wasnt that they were involved in the murders, i don't think so anyway, but Burke refused FBI assistance because he was shady. If the Feds come in and start poking around in such a high profile case, He knew they'd find things he didn't want them finding. But not to do with the Gilgo murders. As you said and I agree, the Gilgo murders and the other victims that may or may not be attributable to Rex,.they were just collateral damage in James Burke's corruption conspiracy.

      I see sociopathy as an illness. Society doesn’t realize that these illnesses are actually avoidable if children are brought up correctly. There is not enough awareness on personality disorders like sociopathy. A huge part of mental illness comes from childhood. Sociopathy is one of those where children are very sensitive to begin with and they don’t get their increased affection needs met, and it gets terribly worse with trauma. The severe lack of empathy and manipulativeness is a hallmark of a protection mechanism because of those early negative experiences (since no one loves me and the world is dark i need to protect myself with being a monster and hurting others). Sociopaths are like little children emotionally and they often live in a type of fantasy where they are strong and can protect themselves ruthlessly.

    Just remember: Nearly all the information Suffolk law enforcement needed was available a dozen years ago, but then-Police Chief James Burke, plus the DA who got Burke the job, Thomas Spota, and Spota's investigator, Chris McPartland, all three were corrupt as hell. The entire Suffolk PD was a total mess for years as a result. And yes, that helped the serial killer get away with this until now. Think about the roommate who managed to describe the "ogre" and his unusual vehicle - and no one did anything about it for well over a decade. Just unbelievable.

      Then, one day, this short ( _5' 5"_ ) middle aged man w/ sunglasses, wearing a wrinkled Hawaiian shirt, worn out cargo shorts, looking as if he had been sleeping in them for weeks, sandals that looked as if he had walked the DESERT in, and hair like Einstein all over the place, walked up to the front desk, took his sunglasses off and looked at me directly asking: _"Youre new here sweetie arent you? Are they treating you well? Are you happy w/ the Company?"_ I was really taken aback by his overall appearance, especially in such an environment, in such a building, and for a split second, I thought he was *homeless* and maybe, slightly .... _mentally ill_ --- so, I simply smiled politely and replied that, yes, I was very happy w/ the Company and that I was being treated very well.
      At that very moment, one of the Top Executives appeared and walked up to him with a big smile on his face, extended his hand to greet the man, saying _"Nice to see you Mr. Smith ( not his actual name of course ), would you prefer your office or mine?"_ and OFF they went, up to his office on the top floor of the building.
      When I was ready to leave at the end of that day, I bumped into that Executive, and politely asked him _"Who was that man earlier today at the front desk that you greeted?"_ and he looked at me and smiled, saying: _"That my dear girl is your employer ---- and mine."_
      I was young at the time, barely 18, and it was my 2nd job in the big city of NY --- but after that day, I learned to *never judge a book by its cover* and that people are never truly what they _appear_ to be.
      I've seen and met several _rich_ people during the course of my life after that, who could be mistaken as _homeless_ or _poverty stricken_ simply based on their _external appearance_ ; and I have learned that those who are truly SUPER WEALTHY dont walk around making a _display_ of their wealth, but are rather very _low key_ and prefer to be _invisible and inconspicuous_ instead. ✌

Your foot can often sink right in and if you don’t notice in time, you can definitely drown even if it’s very low water. If she had drugs in her system, this can definitely happen even easier. But, he would still be responsible. I hope we learn more. To me it’s too coincidental. It might also be more than one culprit.
