You can tell by the way those boots look that you do real work! Glad they held up that long! Might have to try a pair, thanks for the honest and real review!
Damn, how do you keep your boots looking that nice? I work in a warehouse and have quite a few nicks and small gashes. My workplace doesn’t seem like it would be anywhere near as damaging to boots as the construction sites I’ve seen.
I've had both generations of these boots. The ones with the vibram sole vs the older ones that had the rubber sole. The vibram sole gives about six months, which sucks cuz the rest of the boot will last 1-2 years. The old rubber soled version lasted me 1.5 years before I got these newer ones... I do same type of work, build houses from the ground up.
@@Elveshelves nice! Thank you for doing that will stay tuned for the mext video. Just order a pair of these today they will be my first pair of RockRoosters. I’ve always use ariats for work but I find them on the heavy side now guess im getting older lol
@@OBSityproblems No problem. Im happy with the boots. Best bang for your buck in my opinion. Hopefully you’ll have a good experience with your new boots too.
@@GabrielBillett-ej5en Yes I did actually own 3 pairs now 2 pairs for work one with safety toe and the other pair no safety toe very light and comfortable boots I found the waterproofing is not that great but cant never have it all 😅
@@KiltPatrick I’ve only had grip/slip issues on wet, smooth concrete. They actually grip extra good on wood. I feel like a billy goat walking up on a roof. Oh and as a bonus they don’t track mud…
Unfortunately I’ve never owned thorogood boots. But these rock roosters are sized normal. I order my size and they are true to fit. Plenty of room in the toe box for wiggling my piggies. Lol
@Elveshelves thanks for the response. I can wear 11 or 11.5. Right foot is a little bigger than my left. I do a lot of climbing so i like my boots more snug. Im going to try the 11. Thorogoods have gotten too high for me.
@Elveshelves new boots came today. Found them on ebay, 81.94 new. Little snug but think it's because of the memory foam insoles, I expect that to loosen up and be just fine. I'm pretty sold on these rooster boots so far.
@@73ryan they will break in as u wear them. I had a new one that strangely squeaked for a little bit when it was new. It went away after a few days. Im happy with them.

Glad to see someone who actually uses their boots and do a review. If I have to watch another brunt boot review I swear.
@@Weird_1 lol. I feel ya. I’m pretty happy with the boots. The soles are the weakest link and they are legit soles. Win win.

The boots out last the soles. Lol. I’m on my second pair.
Resoles are cheap for these. Maybe fifty-sixty bucks?

This is the comment I was looking for. I’ve been thinking that the rubber ones like I have would be better than these and seems to be true. Thank uou
Are these boots actually 6 inch height? They're advertised as 6 inch, but every picture/video I see makes them look taller. Thanks!
I just measured the leather at the heal and its 6.5 inches. Cheers!
@@Elveshelves appreciate you taking the time to do that, thanks!
you know the point of the speed hooks right? u never got to tie em and u can make it as tight as you want, look it up?
I learned how to do speed hooks on boots, way back in the day, from a stripper back stage... lol. Tall boots.
Nice vid! what's the sizing compared to your sneaker size?
They fit true to my regular shoe size.
Thanks for the update. How is their sizing compared to your shoe size in shoes?
They fit like I expected them to fit. True sizing.
@@Elveshelves awesome. Thanks
For it's price best alternative
Did you weight them when they were new by chance?
No, but I just got a second pair the other day and I just weighed them. One boot is 25.5 oz. (new vid on the new boots soon)

@@GabrielBillett-ej5en Yes I did actually own 3 pairs now 2 pairs for work one with safety toe and the other pair no safety toe very light and comfortable boots I found the waterproofing is not that great but cant never have it all 😅
There’s no liner in the boot. So it’s not gonna hold any water out.
Yeah. Def not a boot for wet conditions.
Beeswax an mink oil combo water proof anything
@@Elveshelves Gracias
Why did the vibram soles wear down so fast?
I think they are kind of known for wearing fast, cuz they are so soft.
@Elveshelves is there any concern about slipping or grip issues with the soles being that worn out?
@@KiltPatrickof course, look at ‘em!

Depends on the cobbler. I'm pretty sure this one is Goodyear welted which is insane for the price tag
