Brilliant. I have a strange interior wall to cover with this tomorrow, like a super wide pillar, against which a bed will go. Four external corners. Double cuts aplenty! Thanks for all the videos. All the best.
@@spencercolgan Thanks Spencer - They helped massively. Turned out I had a vinyl to hang today - it looked like a woven grass. Lots of double cuts and a couple of alcoves that will be next to the bed - just little boxes really. Tested my patience! Looked pretty good at the end of the day but I'm wondering if I should have heated or cut my outside corners as they refused to lie flat. Client was happy so it's all good, I just wasn't 100% about the job! flic.kr/p/2kguqeA
I'm wondering if there's a way to "scribe" a sheet, drawing a pencil line using the right hand wall as a guide, then taking the sheet back to the table and just barely cutting off the pencil line so you could slide the whole sheet easily back into place and stay plumb
Breast wallls can be an absolute nightmare you did an excellent job again Spencer, by the way those Purdy 6 inch dry wall knives are so difficult to get hold of in the uk for some reason so it looks like I will have to get another brand they are great for when we cut wallpaper with a blade as you know
Nice work Spencer. Quick question as im curious, you flipped the paper to leave a neater corner, fair enough but what about your next strip? You cant butt joint against a edge that isnt straight. I presume youll be double cutting that strip also? Seems like an awful lot of hassle as opposed to the conventional way of doing things.thanks from NORTHERN IRELAND.
@@spencercolgan unconventional I guess but it worked for you and this particular paper. Cant say ive ever seen this done but fair play it worked for you. Well done. Patience of a saint. 🤣🤣 👍🏻
i hang wallpaper, not tried grasscloth but i would normally always line up that second strip then trim off excess in corner. Also with that amount of "torque" and then fixing it by overlapping and splicing to get the next sheet to work, the horizontal lines from "torqued" sheet to new sheet will be off.. hmm
@@bendaniels2258 Hi Ben, during a last video Spencer told that you are doing excellent job as wallpaper man, I would like to see it and learn something
HELLO, DOES ANYONE HAVE AN IDEA OF HOW TO TERMINATE GRASS CLOTH AT AN OUTSIDE CORNER. A WAY THE PROTECTS THE EDGE. THE CORNER HAS NO CASING AND THE PAPER HAS TO TERMINATE THERE. I WAS WONDERING ABOUT A SMALL PIECE OF TRIM??? SHOE MOULD? ANY IDEAS WELCOME AND THANK YOU!
Here’s another idea that Phillips Jeffries just shared with me: Cut the outside corner edge at a 45 degree to minimize the potential for damage. I thought that was interesting as well!
I was enjoying your show up until about 30 minutes in or so when you started making fun of some of your customers. Making fun of their accents, more time on the job = what? Implying people don’t know what you’re talking about. At 31:28 I stopped watching. Total arrogance.
Way to smooth those wrinkles. I was worried for you, but you got em. Nicely done
Spencer you are the BEST. Just saying. You are a RUclips star for wallpaper hands down.

GOLDEN! 🎉❤
Outstanding video as usual!
When you say grass is that natural or vinyl?
Excellent work!
Thank you.

Those walls are wonky as hell! “Best part of the day is quitting time” 😂😂 Truth!

I use Marshall taping knives
If gum comes by mistake on the surface of the Wallcovering, how can it be cleaned?

Yes es sir! The corner was so screwed up that I had no choice. I had to flip it and so another double cut. Was a lot of work.

I saw your video where you wallpapered an archway. Is it the same concept with a square opening? Not wrapping paper around door opening.
Yes. A lot easier.
Hi Spencer, could you give any link to Ben Daniels?
Hello Piotr I am ben what link is it you are after?

Does all the smoothing of the grass cloth cause it fray or get “fuzzy”?
Yes.
My experience is when you double cut horizontal grasscloth it leaves a terrible seam.

Colleen. Put a corner piece of trim there and paint it.

The corner from Hell😈🔥🤣😂👍
That was tense
It's not a grasscloth wallpaper. It's commercial faux grasscloth. Completely different product and installation. Horrible installation.
This is a grasscloth. This is not faux grasscloth. You probably needed sleep when you watched this…please watch it again.

Why do you presume arrogance and not that I was perhaps intending a light hearted humorous remark? Perhaps it is your eye which is evil and not mine
