    Well thank you Aubrey for showing how Brit paperhangers do it. I've been a professional paperhanger in USA for 40 years. I've never not wrapped an outside corner. There's tricks if the wall is twisty. After wrapping we plumb next sheet and double cut if needed. I know you can't teach an old dog new tricks but I thought I'd throw it out there.

    • @iangrayson3817
      @iangrayson3817 11 месяцев назад

      there is some benefit in wrapping and over cutting. It has the benefit of not leaving the edge of the wallpaper exposed to persons or animals rubbing round the edge and lifting the paper... we see that quite a lot. Particularly prevalent with the thicker papers.

    Nice one, You helped me right out today. I’ve been painting for years but never got into the papering.. Until today, I followed your instructions and papered my first small room with a boxing in & a heavy pattern paper, The matching using your advice was spot on, I’m not going to lie my head was blown a couple of times but for my first attempt I was well chuffed. Just checking in from the Isle of Wight Aubrey to thank you kindly for your patient, clear & informed videos.
    With your help I found the confidence and motivation to finally give the decorating of my own room a good go. From stripping down my previous wallpaper, cleaning and prepping my walls, through painting the ceiling, skirting & door frames - I was able to take time to work in a structured and measured way thanks to your tuition.
    All I have to face now is my new Paste the wall vinyl wallpaper; and although you don’t have a specific video for this, feel through the advice and tips you’ve shared in other videos, I’m in a good stead to tackle this also…
    My very grateful thanks to you, here’s hoping you are able to enjoy a wonderful weekend ahead. Sam.

    Hi Aubrey, Great vid, I was taught to hang paper this way many years ago (bout 35-40) looks like we have the same tools as well, I will say though that I was taught to use the brush to sweep the paper round the corner! I got up to 2nd year City and Guilds but couldn't do my third year as the job I had @ the time was drywall partitioning and my boss wouldn't let me have time to finish. Only did decorating for a few years but it was good to see the finished rooms! TFS, GB :)

    Why you have added an inch to the left over piece from the right corner drop wall which it was 26 inches left from the remaining first corner wallpapering drop and then you have created a pencil line to level it at 27 inches when you could have used the true measurement of the remaining piece (26 inches) and used the laser level as guide.

      Simply because the technique used is the right procedure.
      If the paper falls that way.
      The next wall may be no door frame etc.
      You utilise the off cut to follow with pattern repeat.
      If a full length will wrap onto next wall say 10mm you would put a full width on..
      His technique is for all eventualities..
