Great mural and video clip, hats off to you for showing your mistake and also showing how you corrected it , respect 😉😊
Just saw your video, wow a real pro great job!
This vid should be labeled part two to this mural
If wallpapers & murals were made correctly there would be no need for double cutting. It’s a BIG no no to cut into the gib board
This is very very true! I’ve been a hanger for nine years and the reason you don’t cut into plasterboard (what we call the wall substrate over here in Australia) is because as the glue behind the wallpaper dries, the wallpaper shrinks and creates a lot of surface tension. This is why you usually see seams lifting. Not because of lack of glue which is what most people think and then they stupidly apply pva or gorilla glue to all their seams.
Don’t do it! It is a total nightmare when you want to remove the wallpaper. As in, don’t even bother and just replace the walls altogether!
I would use a bigger blade and give more purchase to the double cut , great Job cutting down the line for second time 😁👍
These are great! Very helpful. Would love to see something on Corners or weird angles... because i have those LOL
Look up spencer colgan #spencercolganiswallpaper he’s fab at teaching and really informative
wow cool stuff
Great video, what's the name of the straight edge you're using?
Awesome. Where do I buy that straight edge? Thanks😀
Definitely do not do this people. Do not double cut. The most important thing when wallpapering is to prepare your walls properly. Make sure you use the appropriate primer. This will stop your wall paper from shrinking and those gaps from appearing.
May I ask where you purchased your straight edge??
You dulled your blade when you cut over the metal box. That is why you failed to cut through both layers.
Yes now do that with a sisal grasscloth where you cannot have paste on the surface
So do you also cut into the paper that’s staying as well but just pull what’s overlapped?
Yes, cut through both layers... but do not cut into the wall as it will leave a place for air to be trapped, eventually seam fails.
FYI a single edge blade works best when double cutting. It is easy to stick into the drywall while you reposition... A LoveSupreme
He is using a single edge blade.
V useful video but the design doesn't line up perfectly especially at the bottom :)
The panels were not perfectly matched...is that normal?
ha ha NO !!!!!!!!!!
Epic oops..... Dude, you have to cut with a angle not exceeding 28 degrees with 75percent pressure. This is so you go all the way through and use as much of the cutting blade edge as possible . I am a specialist paper hanger from London apprentice trained from 17 years old, I am now 60
What would happen if you cut the wall, and how would you fix it before it fails?
@@bregirlt2009 Do you mean if you cut the paper layer in the dry wall down to the gypsum?
@@Anton-du-Fleur yes
You need to prime under the seam
2:40 ~ Bigtime "F" up.
