Essential Tools to Install Peel & Stick Wallpaper
I’m so happy I came back to RUclips several times to research a bit more and found this gem. It is the most comprehensive and clear video I have come across and I am about to try it out now….wish me luck!! 🎉
I appreciate how much effort you put into these videos.
This was exactly what I was looking for.
I just do not understand this at all!
I’ve been waiting for this kind of content, awesome!
Going to try this out for sure.
I appreciate how much effort you put into these videos.
I’m amazed by the quality of your content, wow!
very helpful
you say “find your edge” …which edge.
With those colors and with the angle of the camera, it’s hard to see where you did the first cut
Definitely do not do this people. Do not double cut. The most important thing when wallpapering is to prepare your walls properly. Make sure you use the appropriate primer. This will stop your wall paper from shrinking and those gaps from appearing.
You dulled your blade when you cut over the metal box. That is why you failed to cut through both layers.
Peel and stick is garbage, get traditional wallpaper. I've been in the biz for 30 plus years.
Using peel and stick wallpaper on a textured wall
Absolutely best presentation & good job done by this gentleman
Do you always start in the middle even if it isn’t a mural?
Yes now do that with a sisal grasscloth where you cannot have paste on the surface
Epic oops..... Dude, you have to cut with a angle not exceeding 28 degrees with 75percent pressure. This is so you go all the way through and use as much of the cutting blade edge as possible . I am a specialist paper hanger from London apprentice trained from 17 years old, I am now 60
What would happen if you cut the wall, and how would you fix it before it fails?
@@bregirlt2009 Do you mean if you cut the paper layer in the dry wall down to the gypsum?
@@Anton-du-Fleur yes
You need to prime under the seam
What company did you buy the wallpaper from?
The panels were not perfectly matched...is that normal?
ha ha NO !!!!!!!!!!
This is far and away the best wallpaper application video I’ve ever seen. I’m shocked that it isn’t the first one to come up in the RUclips search.
Wow! Nice here 💖💗💖
Just saw your video, wow a real pro great job!

Nope they can’t afford it
So excited for you, Kim! It was such a JOY listening!
*promo sm* 😌
Wtf is he on about? No idea what just happened
So do you also cut into the paper that’s staying as well but just pull what’s overlapped?
Yes, cut through both layers... but do not cut into the wall as it will leave a place for air to be trapped, eventually seam fails.
Great work. Where did you get this nice wallpaper..🤓
If wallpapers & murals were made correctly there would be no need for double cutting. It’s a BIG no no to cut into the gib board
This is very very true! I’ve been a hanger for nine years and the reason you don’t cut into plasterboard (what we call the wall substrate over here in Australia) is because as the glue behind the wallpaper dries, the wallpaper shrinks and creates a lot of surface tension. This is why you usually see seams lifting. Not because of lack of glue which is what most people think and then they stupidly apply pva or gorilla glue to all their seams. Don’t do it! It is a total nightmare when you want to remove the wallpaper. As in, don’t even bother and just replace the walls altogether!
Were can I purchase this wall art please
Does the first panel have to be nice and plumb?
beautiful paper indeed ,but you misleading people.i am a professional paper hanger for the last 30 ys in Houston Tx and i do not recommend "overlapping ". seams should be butted tightly together and smoothed down with a seam roller." is ok" if you do-it yourself or you the owner of the office, building etc.but overlapping is out of the question. On the other hand your wall should have sealer or primer, prep the walls is very important than just to " clean up " good luck
This wallpaper is made to be overlaped. The design won’t fit if you butt the joint. And it’s not made to be double cut. It stretches when you pull it to take the under part and it doesn’t fit anymore when you put it back.
40 years of experience here, from Las Vegas. Peel and stick is totally different from regular wallpaper, or commercial vinyl Peel and stick is made to be overlap up to 1/4 inch, do not attempt to overlap and double cut or butt the edges together, with time they will come apart because of cold weather/hot weather, expansion/contraction. Peel and stick is supposed to be installed on top of semi gloss paint, do not attempt to install on top of flat paint, it won't stick. Paint needs to be cured, the longer the better, in case you need to remove it to reposition it. One last thing, always read the instructions, sometimes they are half right. Lol
yes very different...
What is it the helper phone number?😏
Hi we are from Costa Rica What brand you recommend o what vinyl do use for this video?
Thank you
Horrible camera angle 🤮🤮🤮 can't see the wall work but the guys hand who is doing it👎👎👎👎
I would use a bigger blade and give more purchase to the double cut , great Job cutting down the line for second time 😁👍
Hi thanks for the video. What about semi gloss walls? My walls were painted about 3 years ago and I figured I needed to paint them with primer before applying the peel and stick wall paper. Can you tell me if that would be necessary or just some light sanding?
I have yet to actually install any peel and stick wallpaper (hence the reason I’m watching this video) but I am a professional painter and my instinct would be that the wallpaper would stick better to a semi gloss then to a flat paint/primer. Imagine sticking tape on a piece of glass versus a piece of wood, it’s going to stick a lot better to the glass. If it was traditional wallpaper using adhesive glue I’d feel the opposite, you’d want a less smooth surface.
Excellent!
I put mine up and woke this morning to it peeling down 🤦🏻♂️ can I use a sealer over it to prevent this ?
What about sizing the wall?
wow cool stuff
Not a professional way
Obviously, Gina. It’s peel and stick wallpaper.
There Is a professional way for everything.
I don't get the middle out
