How did you know it was the solenoid and not the charcoal canister? Thank you in advance. I need to know which part should I order, canister or solenoid?
@@tanweer108 hi @tanweer i hope you can help me out. did you ever find out what the issue was? I have an Escalade esv and when I pump gas it stops the pump around every 10 seconds and is extremely annoying. Tía
You guys always do such a great job with the video photography and showing all the small, but important details.....like how various hoses and clips are disconnect. Those small details can make a quick fix turn into a whole day
Thank you very much for posting this video. Was able to make this repair myself saving more than $200 if I had a mechanic shop fix it. Keep up the great work!

Hey guys I don’t get a code but every time I put gas it trips the pump constantly. Would this be the issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks
Another excellent video, I just did this repair but p0449 stayed on. Is it necessary to clip the harness to the frame? Is it a source of ground, or should I try the charcoal canister next?
Around the 6:00 mark (the part you were using the side cutters on) - where is that supposed to be located? I got sideswiped and now that part is dangling. And I’m getting new P0455 codes. Does it connect to anything? Edit: I see now. It hangs out near the top of the fuel filler neck and needs to point down. It is a “sniffer” and doesn’t connect/plug to anything at that end.
I have a 2012 Suburban thathas had the emissions lines blown out to remove carbon pieces. The hose clip the gas fumes go through broke when putting it back on or the gasket needs replacing. Not sure. There's dust on the box so i know it's leaking there. Do you have suggestions for fixing or replacing the connector?
@@BASSWITHKEV trouble filling the tank where nozzle keeps kicking off is cause by the charcoal canister being clogged and/or dirty. You can remove and using air compressor blow it out. Be careful because a lot of dirt and debris will come out. Or just replace the charcoal canister.
Thank you so very much! I followed the video exactly and everything worked. The only problem I had was getting the secondary tire latch to let go because of rust and gravel dust. I am truly grateful and will buy my parts from 1AAUTO in the future.
Why doesn't my 2010 chev suburban 1500 not have this part. It has the big charcoal filter only. And the solenoid under the hood by the engine. No wear can I find this. Tnx in advance.
I wish there was a video that showed how to release the old style connector from the charcoal canister. Working without a lift and trying to get that thing disconnected is bananas. Ripping out the last few hairs I have left😫
If you're having trouble removing the spare tire, check to see if the tube for the extension rods didn't fall out of place. The plastic tube kinda telescopes and can get disconnected from the gear. Wasted almost a 1/2 hr trying to get the square end to catch until I figured that out.
My guess is that they replaced both. If you look they replaced the spare tire carrier winch as well. They probably made multiple videos off of this vehicle…just guessing though.
Maybe you can help me out... 07 yukon rpm's drop when at a stop light then go back up and drops again... I cleaned the intake took the throttle body off and also cleaned it and changed the maf sensor... I sprayed the intake and vacuum hoses and no stuttering so I know it doesn't have a vacuum leak
I have an 09 Avalanche been displaying code for evap leak and is hard to put gas in it........ I replaced the vapor canister purge valve and the solenoid....... Worked great for a week then just went back like it was....... Took it in and had a diagnosis done and all checked out fine then they raised her up and the intake line to the solenoid was melted on the exhaust pipe so I ordered a new one....... Then I looked at the old one I took out before it was melted also gggggrrrrrrrr
Quick question does the check engine light come off automatically when we replace the canister? I just changed it on my 2007 Tahoe and the check engine light is still on ?
+Hooter Bear Thanks for watching! These vent valves only come complete like we take out of the vehicle, so you cannot just get the valve without the hoses.
+we732 Located Make sure you cut all the cable ties off holding it in place. Since you are replacing it with a new one, you could also cut the hose attached to it and remove it in the other direction.

Would a bad evap vent valve cause random misfires (P0300) and trouble filling the tank with gas?
Exactly what I’m trying to figure out
Anyone can answer this?
Did it fix your misfire?
Not sure that it can cause a misfire but it can definitely mess with fuelling. That’s the issue I just fixed.

You call this the VENT valve in the video but the title and parts listing call it a PURGE valve. Which is it?
Purge is small valve in front right under the vortec cover. Takes 10 minutes to change
Wire wheel and spray paint go a looong way. Oof that chassis is rusty!
My 08 LTZ having just a gaping hole... that's my luck. Color me lost 😅
I replaced mine and the engine light still blinking and traction control is on. What could it be?
This same p0455 code will more than likely be the valve on top of engine
Is called the purge valve under the vortec cover
Nicely done!
So you're not sure if that's the issue. You are just assuming right?
What else could it be?
Spray that frame with some fluid film.... cant believe how much rust
