Ideas: Collabs just showing you guys having fun are always fun to watch. It doesn't even have to involve catching tons of fish. The comraderie and fun is infectuous and always reminds me why fishing is so awesome. You and Nick did good in this one. From the rocks, pier or beach is cool too . An occasional neighbor, kid or Wife. For us regular Joe Shmo's just trying to emulate 🤙🎣 Thanks Chris P and Nick
Pretty darn awesome! Towards the end of last year I spent soo much time watching your videos my wife decided I needed a fishing boat....So we bought one....Cant wait to catch you guys on the waters!
Awesome work! Tip for next time, bring a cooler with a slush brine with salt so it’s super cold. Dump the next in that. Bait will immediately freeze stiff and prevent scale loss.
yes i think that is a good idea. Be more prepared next time. I will let you know how these work out when I fish with them in a month or two. Thanks for watching
We were one boat down from you guys. My son is the one in the background on the bow of the Grady with the orange Grundens bibs throwing the cast net. It was a great day. We enjoy your videos
to continue the last post, net fishing surf smelt is a family thing. They don't run every day, but the family can enjoy a day at the beach every trip. They can also help pick up and bucket the fish when you dump them on the sand, allowing you to hit the next wave. When they run it can be hectic.
My son Bilal and I would love to hook up with you some day for s fishing trip. Would be a great birthday gift for him. He’s turning 21 on 4/1. Lol. April fools baby. Almost missed his birth thinking my wife was playing a prank on me saying her water broke. Lol….
Surprising that the state allows nets for personal use herring harvest. You would think in Cal that nothing would survive to spawn given the population of fisherman.
I'd like to see you catch surf smelt with a throw net. When I was a kid, we used 2-man nets before the Hawaiian throw net became popular. The A-frame was going out of style at that point. All three methods are a real blast. Starting in my grandmother's time, our family went to Martin's Beach south of Half Moon Bay. That ended when it was bought by a Sun Computer gazillionaire but I'm sure other beaches are productive if not as convenient parking wise.
Ideas? I have always wanted to catch a bat ray. Apparently they are considered a trashfish because i cant find a guide for them but rays are just so cool. Wish i lived near the ocean. Try some rays this year.
Nick is awesome man. Cool vid chris. Been a min right? I need a new license too. But something new, possible red/brown crabbing... Also you should ice bath/salt the herring before they die to keep them fresh from decomposing
I'm sure it's already been said but getting some nice sturgeon would be awesome to watch. See some strategies to add to my tacklelbox! I really enjoy the videos bro keep em coming 💯 My wife gets jealous, me watching too many fishing videos 🤣
Hey Chris We were right next to you guys when you were getting the herrings on Saturday. We got a lot too, it was crazy but we hit our prop on a freakin rock, oh well. We just threw our herring in a bag and in the freezer
looking back at it, lucky I didnt hit a rock. Bummer, prop can be fixed if it didnt do further damage. Good luck on that! Thanks for watching and yeah that was an awesome time!
Yeah those rocks were sticking out from 10-14 feet of water. I saw that you backed away at some point bc you were too close to the hill and rocks. If you are not familiar with that area it can be damaging to the boat
Somebody mentioned it on one of your earlier questions but have you ever gone sturgeon fishing you can do that right now and I don't know if I've seen any of your videos where you're going for sturgeon
Haha. End of the video he hated how dirty his boat was getting. Nick trying to get all he can while it was 🔥. Never really liked Nick ever since lied about losing the the go pro footage of Ish with Fish.
I used to vacuum seal like that but now I go to Smart & Final and I buy the Styrofoam tray and I freeze them on the tray then vacuum so the bait doesn't squish up too bad..
yes i think that is a good idea. Be more prepared next time. I will let you know how these work out when I fish with them in a month or two. Thanks for watching
Like to see a fishing trip for tuna and a trip to flaming gourge lake for trout and kokanee and a trip for river salmon, ( hope for a good run) good luck
Thanks for the comment! Yeah I want to get on some big tuna. I didnt albacore last year for the first time. So baby steps I suppose. This year hopefully a bft.
Maybe I’ll try the baby net next time. You guys got to take your time and enjoy hahaha There was an unreal amount of fish there that day. Everyone slayed them
I did this last week and brined them in ice and salt over night, then sorted, patted with a towel, then pre-froze so they wouldn't get crushed by the vacuum, then sealed them the next day.
yes i think that is a good idea. Be more prepared next time. I will let you know how these work out when I fish with them in a month or two. Thanks for watching
Your wasting your time with the brine. Your wrong, it does not crush them, they work perfect after defrost doing the way I did. Your wiping off scales, sperm and eggs which all helps attract the fish your going after by doing your method.
Looking at a 2009 boat identical to yours on Monday so I have been binging all your videos. Great content I’m amazed at all the opportunities you have down there in California just curious how much$ you Initially paid for your boat?
yeah going to need to do a round two of cleaning. Just went to the boat, still good amount of eggs but they dont seem to be sticking anymore which is good.
What size/model of Northriver do you have? I am in the market and want a good boat for the bay and ocean but also easy enough to handle that I can take crappie and kokanee fishing in smaller lakes. Hard top northriver in a 22 or 23ft is what I'm leaning towards.
@ChrisPfish I currently have a 20ft hewes sportsman and no offshore bracket. I am a bit nervous to take it out the gate as it's a bit narrow. I am hoping to have the new boat by about June of this year. Thank you for the quick reply. I enjoy your channel. Are you a bay area local?
were do you get your info. Are you reading all of it and understanding it? At a quick glance it says no dip nets over 3ft (net with handle). Beach net (cast net) up to 20ft.
I went to fort bragg twice last year, got albacore. If you havent seen the videos check them out. I do plan to try and get a bft this year! Thanks for watching
If you immediately put those herring in and ice salt slush It will dispatch him kill him quickly and they’ll quit kicking around knocking off the scales just saying

Thanks for having me Chris. Nice job on the trays!
Thanks Nick, good time for sure! Now we need to do it again and use them for bait!
Nick that last catch , was just awesome bro
Brine your baits, a world of difference when you do that. You'll be glad you did.
We were one boat down from you guys. My son is the one in the background on the bow of the Grady with the orange Grundens bibs throwing the cast net. It was a great day. We enjoy your videos
right on, thanks for watching the videos! Wishing you and your son a successful and safe 2023 fishing season!
Damn! That's so much bait! Awesome!

Great video! Looks like a lot of fun.
Wow that’s crazy! I have to try that! Nice catch!
Good to see you back - as always Nice one👌
what a sweet deal you guys both get what you want!

Nick Fish ,........ thanks Chris
Agree about the collaboration videos.
Are you happy with the vacuum sealer you have?
Great video as always!
yeah the vacuum sealer works greats. Thanks for watching
Looks like a blast. Nice job!
Good stuff as always and a good idea to recruit the kids to help.
Thanks for watching and leaving the comment!
Ideas? I have always wanted to catch a bat ray. Apparently they are considered a trashfish because i cant find a guide for them but rays are just so cool. Wish i lived near the ocean. Try some rays this year.
that is an idea. I dont always need to go home with fish. Sometimes its about the fight and the rays can provide that. and they are cool to look at.
Great collab Chris. I wanna see a thresher shark!! Or maybe some Kokanee ❤
both good options! I learn from the best, thanks for all you help TLA!
Nick is awesome man. Cool vid chris. Been a min right? I need a new license too.
But something new, possible red/brown crabbing...

I knew that bucket looked familiar in the thumbnail hahaha gj fellas
Dang... That will save you thousands of dollars if I had to guess. Worth doing in every way. Great job dude .

great idea! Thanks for watching
Thats awesome! We’ll done! I see that’s up around Marin, will they spawn like that around oyster point and closer to San Mateo bridge?
It’s dope to see a RUclipsrs collaboration
I guess I have to send you some Krippled Herring heads as well now.
haha was thinking same thing!
I used to vacuum seal like that but now I go to Smart & Final and I buy the Styrofoam tray and I freeze them on the tray then vacuum so the bait doesn't squish up too bad..

@@ChrisPfish2 yup but a great way to save money those herring are crazy expensive. But hey I have a question to ask you. But not on here
Let’s go for tuna!
I agree, hopefully I get a bft this year!
Like to see a fishing trip for tuna and a trip to flaming gourge lake for trout and kokanee and a trip for river salmon, ( hope for a good run) good luck

There was an unreal amount of fish there that day. Everyone slayed them
It'd be cool to see you do some shark fishing or maybe some beach/pier fishing.
Thanks for the ideas!
Awwwww, yiss!!
Sweet
Yo...Nick fish...like his channel
Where is that car wash ?cant find one truck and boat can fit in
Where did you launch a boat?
Nice video and haul. What about brining them before you freeze them? I just wonder how well that would work.

@@ChrisPfish2 for sure bro I can’t wait those are the perfect size
Start doing collabs with people who will help you cook your catch🙏🏼 make it quick and sweet, doesn’t have to be tutorials like with the fishing
ok thats a good idea, I will see if I can find a chef!
Do Sturgeon fishing!
Looking at a 2009 boat identical to yours on Monday so I have been binging all your videos. Great content I’m amazed at all the opportunities you have down there in California just curious how much$ you Initially paid for your boat?
Man f work the spawn was on a work day for me I hate it
Hahaha "stop wiggling!"
All that herring spunk is going to be tough to clean off the boat
yeah going to need to do a round two of cleaning. Just went to the boat, still good amount of eggs but they dont seem to be sticking anymore which is good.
Vacuum sealer brand.? Are you happy with it? Thanks.
yes i do like it very much. link in description.
@ChrisPfish I checked but unfortunately it is a link to the cast net. I will purchase it on Amazon if you can give me the link. Thanks again.
@@myklive link updated. Thank you!
Wouldn't be a better idea to ice and salt bath it once on boat? Flash freeze it....
probably but I will let you know when I use them in a month.
I sure it's not the first time your boat got loads of spunk on it
What size/model of Northriver do you have? I am in the market and want a good boat for the bay and ocean but also easy enough to handle that I can take crappie and kokanee fishing in smaller lakes. Hard top northriver in a 22 or 23ft is what I'm leaning towards.
mine is a 20ft with 2ft off shore bracket so its 22ft total length. You are getting a great boat if your getting a 22-23ft hardtop
Dang I need some
i know right... that was my first time, wont be my last. Thanks for watching
Whats the leagal net size? Cause it says 3' ?????? Whys everyone using 4 and 6' nets?????
were do you get your info. Are you reading all of it and understanding it? At a quick glance it says no dip nets over 3ft (net with handle). Beach net (cast net) up to 20ft.
@ChrisPfish2 just found a page that explained it alot better! Alls good now
Tuna 🍣from fort Bragg ??? Do it man !
I went to fort bragg twice last year, got albacore. If you havent seen the videos check them out. I do plan to try and get a bft this year! Thanks for watching
@@ChrisPfish2 Yes, I saw those videos, only one problem….. you didn’t take me with you. lol
What about yellow tail down south ??
What island was that?
sausalito area.
Catch some threshers!
i like that idea, thanks!
Anyone know we’re the herring are now?
Try to catch a white sea bass
If you immediately put those herring in and ice salt slush It will dispatch him kill him quickly and they’ll quit kicking around knocking off the scales just saying
How about some deep water SF bay shark fishing, Chris?
i dont know why I am afraid to anchor in 100+ feet in sf bay. But yes I agree that would be cool! Thanks for the comment
supppppppppppppppppppppppppp
Do you eat them?
