Beautiful! Love the TWA 727 too. Airliners today lack the character of earlier models. I know they're much more efficient and such, but the 747's and DC10's had something very special about them.
@@sashingopaul3111 apparently they wanted to shed their “clinical” and “corporately image in favour of a more approachable and multicultural image, I personally find the current livery rather dated and the previous one actually looks more modern.
Awesome footage. I remember the first time I flew in one of these. I was 9 and it was 1972. We flew and American 747 Chicago to San Francisco. I was the only kid on the plane and got the grand tour, from the cockpit to the lower deck galleys. And wings! I got wings! :-) Was an amazing experience. Getting ready to retire in 2 years and one of my bucket list items is 2 weeks in the UK... flying British Airways business class... upper deck 747 of course!
I miss the -100's a lot, as a kid its the one I remember the most with the spiral staircase and 70's style colors in it. The old P&W engines made the coolest roar, man I miss it.
Back when Boeing was king of airplane sales, and the 747-100 200 300 and 400 series ruled the skies. In honor to the Queen, I salute you. Long live the Queen of the skies.
total recall about planes and amazing video which show how aviation transformations are fast...forever queen of the sky, the charming 747-200. Those who don't fly it are younger than 33 years old...believe it
Hell, the A380 may be the largest, we may still have the 747-8, but absolutely nothing beats the numbers, the amount of "big planes" in the span of the 1990's... I'm so sad I never got to be used to so many 747's :(
It’s so sad that every single one of these are no longer flying! I feel bad for the next generations to come having never flown on the different variants of The Queen. Hopefully the -800’s will be around for a while more. Long live The Queen of the Skies
Sad, it looks like all the US carriers are looking to faze out the 747. It seems like back when this video was taken, there were a lot more options. TWA, Tower Air, Northwest, Pan Am and Continental are all gone.

I totally agree! Those are some of my favorite planes you pointed out! The 747 has to be my favorite personally.
-Exodus
Back when like all the airlines had the 747s XD
A time when the 747 ruled the world....very nice!!
Miss the days of the 747s :(
There still around? Just more advanced
Unfortunately, I will probably never be able to fly on one.
One a380 gone one more 747 in service
Yep
2:27 The old BA livery was so good.
Don't know why they'd get rid of it
I liked when the livery said "British airways"
Instead of "BRITISH AIRWAYS"
I think both BA liveries were world-beaters!
What do you mean ‘new one?’ BA have been using the iconic ‘Chatham Dockyard’ livery for more than 20 years now...

Eric Connine Unless you like the RR engines or have an affinity for ba LH would probably be a nicer experience
Or even virgin
Thats what you call "aviationporn"....excellent video of the queen of the skies.I never get bored watching 747s
Awesome video! Its sad that there are so few 747classics flying around today
Theres only 10 still flying. 😢
Thanks for the 747 VARIG.
1:09 Alitalia cargo! Probably dropped off some Buffalo mozzarella and a few Ferrari's.
I really like the 747 classic, i feel like its the best version out there of the 747 in appearance
Really luv the old BA livery..!!!
Back when airports were filled with a huge variety of great aircraft!
What a picture perfect landing the first Iberia 747 did! Amazing!
no flare!
uscgswimmer1 Yeh you're right it was a bit firm, could have done with a little bit more flare but still a nice landing.
Brings memories. My first flight on a 747 was on a BA 747 with the JT9D engines. Man those were the days.
2:27 the old British Airways livery looks so damn great!
Simply wonderful and enjoyed.
Brings back memories while working for Ogden Allied on the tarmac in the early 90s
Thank you.
747 with classic Iberia livery are very beautiful :)
God those Pratt and Whitney engines on those 747s sound so dang good! Something about that whistle
The days of seeing this old bird in the skies across the world is in it's twilight now.
Power, style, function: 747 will always be Queen of the Skies!
That engine roar is EVERYTHING!
I miss the -100's a lot, as a kid its the one I remember the most with the spiral staircase and 70's style colors in it. The old P&W engines made the coolest roar, man I miss it.
I miss seeing the classics flying around
This is CLASSIC best aircraft built

Varig and Olympic Airways were my favorite livery...TowerAir service was from Brussels to the USA... (JFK)
Like KLM's old livery so much!
The Swissair 747-300 was such a beauty.
great video. so many airlines from so many countries all meeting in New York. wow!!
The time when everybody owned a 747
Man air travel today may be more convenient but back then 70s,80,90's was when it was the most fun and glamorous.
It was 747s galore, now it's 77Ws galore!
Even the food that was served in airplanes was great at that time unlike today
total recall about planes and amazing video which show how aviation transformations are fast...forever queen of the sky, the charming 747-200. Those who don't fly it are younger than 33 years old...believe it
I was born in 2004.
I never got to see this :(

Sorry for you... Luckily there are a lot of videos of those beautiful planes, so you can watch them even if it is only on RUclips.
Loved flying on B747-200 and the spiral staircase to the upper deck.
I really like the 747-200, I have an iberia 1/200 scale model of it and it still looks great after 13 years
Queen of the sky ruling the aviation world
really enjoyed that..thanks for the post
Beautiful Boeing 747's of the world airlines. Nice shot of Trans World Airlines Boeing 727-200 as well.
miss the 747
Back when like , every airline ever had a 747
WoW loved the Saudia 747-300 2:10
Excelente vídeo 👏👏👏
B747 VARIG 🇧🇷
Iberia 747 and the KLM 747 landed the smoothest!
You're awesome and your videos? Amazing!
Great video! :) That is the iconic Jumbo! :) ❤️

Wow, how majestic.
My dad flew B747 100/200 For BA. What a stunning aeroplane.
Great plane ✈️👍
Majority of them were PW powered B747 classic
Classic 747’s
Yes! Olympic Boeing 747-200 from Athens

Prize for the best landing goes to Cargolux at 1:00
United at 1:55 not too shabby either
Good news is a few are flying again. Lufthansa for one.
there was a time when JFK was the airport where almost every airline that flew a B747 Flew into . Now i think only Two airlines fly B747 into JFK

The 747 8 is bigger then the flying trash can
2:27 British Airways Boeing 747-236B G-BDXF "City of York"
Wow so it isn't just me. The 747 has a tendency for the front wheels on the tilted gear lifts for a split second before dropping again
3:20 this 747 is coming from brasil
So Many 742s !
0:27 it’s the dab plane 😂
It’s so sad that every single one of these are no longer flying! I feel bad for the next generations to come having never flown on the different variants of The Queen. Hopefully the -800’s will be around for a while more. Long live The Queen of the Skies
Every Tom, Dick and Harry had a 747 in those days
the classic and old queen of the skies
3:21 CF6-80 engines (the engines of the -400) on a classic (no newer wing root fairing)? 🤔
That 747 of Varig was a -300 with CF6-80, the same engines of the 747-400.
1:04 was a 747-400F
catcrusher558 c.a.t.s expert that is a converted freighter (747-200 pax being used as a freighter)
3:20 747 da Varig do Brasil
Sad, it looks like all the US carriers are looking to faze out the 747. It seems like back when this video was taken, there were a lot more options. TWA, Tower Air, Northwest, Pan Am and Continental are all gone.
And US Airways is gone.
:/
tjrtt Delta and United will retire them this autumn.
You see all variants. 747-100,-200,-300 and -400. Also the 747-100 and 747-200 Freighters
Phenomenal
Tower air ..... lol I remember flying them
want to go back to that time but unfortunately I'm still in heaven =(
soooooo cool !
Awesome :)
Based on the white BA livery at 2:18 I'm guessing that this is 1998 or shortly thereafter?
Probably.
couple twa sightings !
I vote Saudia as the best livery from the classics.
good old KLM lady at 2:42 :)
Its old because ALITALIA sold the 747 a long time ago like 2007
3:23 that's a 747 400 or 400d
No it is a -100 or -200 because -400 models has a stretched upper deck while -100 & -200 models doesn’t except for the -SR models
That 747 of Varig was a -300 with CF6-80, the same engines of the 747-400.
