- WOW is an understatement when you combine the incredible action filmed right from the runways of New York's JFK Airport, a location that is no longer accessible today along with the variety of airlines, liveries and aircraft that visited the airport back then and what you're seeing on this 10min video is just a very short sampling of the program which is 180mins long! Best of all, this DVD was $30 and you can now download the entire 3 hour program for just $15

2002 That's not too long ago

That Aer Lingus MD-11 bounce tho
Piper Skalka boing
Swiss001 is not happy about that bouncy landing
7:07 That's gotta be the darn most American looking plane I've seen.
Remember this was just after 9/11, so flags and patriotism were still fresh in 2002.
Cole Phelps almost better than Aer Dingus ☘️ ✈️
Well it's the Ohio state flag, but that is part of America so I see what you mean
And ir's a 757 :3
Its so american it stole the oil of othe planes
Back when the was variety of airlines and aircraft
J Mass LAX has a good variety
FlexinF_elix115 tru
There's more aircraftnow
J Mass i wish i could go back in time
75% now are stoepit a320's and 737's
That old battleship livery for United has me reliving memories when I was kid😭
save the best for last! ITS CONCORDE
Avitataro 701 damn right.
damn all that smoke coming out the back... If only they were more fuel efficient.
I miss the Concorde
I only got to see one once.... I weep
Wait where the afterburners?
Wow, I can't believe 2002 was so long ago, so many planes that are largely retired by now...747s, MD11s (or DC10s), and the best saved for last, the Concorde.
felt like it was yesterday we had these now we have A320s and 737s and 777s A330s ruling the skies now i miss those days
Not that I have anything against these planes, but it's great to watch something different than the constant flow of 737-800s, A320s, 777s, and 787s that we see today.
Roy M agreed. I do occasionally see some old FexEx DC11s at my city airport but I don’t think that’ll be for much longer.
Dirk Diggler you mean MD-11 or DC-10?
The FedEx DC10/MD10’s will probably be done soon. Those airframes are getting old even for a cargo aircraft. The MD11 will probably be around awhile longer though.
You forgot the a350

Wow three of the first four are MD-11 passenger aircraft? Didn’t expect to see that!
How I wish that would’ve continued for many more years into the 2000s.
Yeah, but the MD-11 was garbage so
Back when airports weren't full of mostly 787s, 737s and A321s
The good ole days.... MD-11's and DC-10's, 747-400's, 757's and DC9's
Stick Steves some A300/A310s too!
What’s wrong with the 787s 737s and A321s?
Citrato1011 737s have a cool windshield design though.
I mean just like cars with Headlights, all planes have a unique “Face” to them
Stick Steves yeah the good old days when more planes crashed. I loved it

Thanks
N949DN Was an MD-90 not 747
Cant believe how many MD 11 were still in operation. I actually flew a Delta MD 11 to Paris in 2002 from Atlanta. The Md 11 my favorite plane if all time. Also love seeing the A340s. I always liked flying them across the pond Because of the four engines. Flew Virgin A340 to London multiple times. Great airplane.
Hoder Harris Why don’t you make complete sentences?
DC10’s
No Way BA/AA was Richard Bransons way of opposing the British Airways/ American Airlines partnership alliance. He thought that they would dominate the North Atlantic traffic so this was his way of opposing and saying no!
2:19 No way BA/AA 😂😂
Virgin were cheeky
They Still are.
Zain Khan they also had the slogan “Mine’s longer than yours” on their A340-600s
You mean there trying to stop the merger between American Airlines And British Airways?
Cheeky scrubs
Old and loud just how I like it and topped off with concorde afterburners marvellous!
2:57 It’s kind of unusual seeing a TWA 757 after 2001
Ateltoni34 Its unusual seeing an Aer Lingud DC aircraft.
Edward 2012 I think that that Aer Lingus Jet at 0:36 is actually an MD11.
Ateltoni34 oh ok. Never imagined Aer Lingus ever owned a MD aircrafts.
Edward 2012 Aer Lingus only had one MD 11, it was leased from world airways
I took a few years to repaint all of them
2:18 Did VA just diss BA and AA? Loool
Bouncy landing for the shamrock md11
jr132 and the Finnair MD11
jr132 and the Aer Lingus md 11
Carlos Romero Shamrock is the Air Lingus call sign
1:57 that thing was barely climbing. Look how pitched up the nose was vs their vertical climb
Scary
Noticed that too 😱
Typical for planes back in the day, except for the 757, they went up like rockets. Cant believe I said ''back in the day''
some airlines do climbs with lower thrust to save the engines
I find it amazing how so much has changed since then except for the 757s. A true testament to the type's durability, reliability and versatility.
AirJamaica, sweet.
Not an A320 in sight
Now it is :)
There is a JetBlue A320 in the background when the delta 732 was taking off.
Delta Anims you’re clearly blind... it’s next to it
DadCelo the good old days.
Token Black sadly.
The moment I read JFK 2002. I knew that the last plane was going to be CONCORDE
3... 2... 1... NOW! I miss the Concorde... we all do... we wish it would just take off once more... just once so I could experience the thrill of supersonic air travel
@@yoville73 shitty airplane tho, and an insane gas hog
VASP's MD-11 was the first widebody I ever rode back in 1997
I miss the DC10 and MD11s so much. They had so much character. Planes nowadays feel like they all the same.
8:56 ULTIMATE NOSTALGIA!!
I wish we still had those aircraft coming in and going in the present days like the Trijets tbh. Such a beauty.
Great videos as usual, love this channel!
Just go to lax when its around night time where the fedex md-11’s and dc-10’s come in
Was hoping to see at least 1 Air Jamaica clip and was shown. 747s and the tri engine jets definitely had a strong presence. Concorde at the end, awesome. Thanks for the footage.
Andrew Cunnison air Jamaica 6:04
Some great liveries, I'll miss TWA and that Air Lingus was something to behold, the United 747 was only slightly terrifying, National Airlines was so 80's it hurt, but my favorite was definitely the Bee Wee. Nothing today approaches that level of cool except perhaps the ANZ All Blacks which is pretty friggin cool.
Fantastic vid with a great finish.
Nice B747 of Iberia. Nice memories!
Damn when JetBlue didn’t rule JFK
NY Guy Not JetBlue it’s Delta.
Chorreron yes you are right I had to look at the statistics visually it looks like JetBlue
The good old days
Ghana Airways! Wow!
Go fly on a B757 before they retire them all.
And the MD-80s
@@_RM99 Have to fly one every time I visit my aunt in Florida.
@@dengate6 Same, I live in Toronto and my family lives in Guatemala and whenever I go visit I always go with Delta rather than United or American (Prices are always the same more or less) because that means flying on the Mad Dog to ATL and the 757 to Guatemala which is pretty sweet
Every time I see a 757 I think of 9/11 which is odd because I never feel that way about the 767.
@@Women_Rock The B757 were cruise missles and the B767 were drones. 04/01/2019 HAPPY APRIL FOOLS. Have fun today
Back when Emirates, Qatar and Etihad were still in it's development stages and not a single middle eastern airline had a direct flight to the US.
El Al had many routes to the US
Skipper Bronx true
What’s wrong wit Qatar emirates and etihad? They have better service than most of not all US airlines apart from delta. So why the hate
He never said he hated them? 🤔
Completely incorrect. Both El Al, Saudia, and EgyptAir all had nonstops to the USA at that time.
I love seeing all of these vintage plane spotting videos. I love the variety of aircraft and airlines
MD-11s, 747s, DC-9s, MD-80s, A340s, GLAMOUR!!!!
6:05, OMG! I miss them so much!
So much amazingness in this video. That Ghana DC-10 was incredible. I miss those old jets so much. This was the beginning of the end of lots of those airliners and airlines. Thanks for sharing - beautiful footage.
Concorde always seemed to turn on a dime the second it left the tarmac. Must have been damn exciting to fly
My grandmother lived in Rockaway Beach, Queens, NY. The Concordes take off fast and bank aggressively, due to noise abatement procedures.
Everything was so different back then. I guess it is a bit unfortunate that I was not born around this time. Oh well, I gotta thank places like JustPlanes to have taken this footage back then. Liked
It's amazing to see the Concorde, miss days when it was still in service!
1:30 It's amazing to think United once even had international operations from JFK, before scaling all the way back to just the p.s. service to LAX and SFO, and then completely dropping those and moving those to Newark.
Rip that Aer Lingus MD11 landing............
Wow, Air Jamaica had a sweet livery!! Love these flashback videos :D
Tri-jet look insanely good man
I wish JFK airport would allow more of this up close runway plane spotting. The best variety in the world.
757 is such a beautiful airplane
10:00 Oh god the A350
The Concorde Departure was a nice finishing touch to the video.
My favorite at :40 bouncing md11 it refuses to be on ground. Hey! the Concorde man back in the 70s I used to watch it takeoff from the Pan am parking lot and got ready for super sonic sound had to cover my ears.
I love the diversity of aircrafts which we don't get too see anymore at airports.
I could not think of a better way to get a headache, such roaring sounds, the past pleasures gone forever.
You just gave me so much nostalgia
0:36 never knew they used to use that plane
That Aer Lingus MD-11 bounce 👌
Wow 8:02 that BEAUTIFUL Delta paintjob 😍 such a shame it didn’t last long with the company
I like how unique the planes are compared to looking at an airport today and seeing A320s, 787s and some 737s
What a fantastic ending to this video!! The mighty Concorde was such a pleasant surprise and made me smile!
0:50 that landing was HARD
0:50 Finnair!!!! 😍😍😍
It’s an MD11 in the classic Finnair livery, isn’t it a beauty :)
@@imMetallicOSM yes

First comment! WoW~ And also amazing airport traffic!!
Simply amazing!!!! 🙌🙌🙌
Love the variety, now days it’s all 737, a320, ERJ’s, and CRJ’s.
It's just crazy seeing how much these airlines have changed over the years, And to see a Concorde make a sharp turn out is also very different
Great stuff, not that long ago but seems like a different era of commercial aviation!
Beautiful tri jets time
Yannis Moutafis Absolutely :)
0:40 That bounced really hard😂😂
ikr
Oh how exciting it must have been to see a concorde flying in person. Sadly i was little back then.
OMG, Brazilian VASP is no longer flying!
And the AMAZING Concorde.
Amazing! Stunning!!!
the best video ever
2:48 "hey mike?"
Wow, greats video. Unusual 757 TWA in 2002.
I see 1 American Airlines boeing 757 still in TWA livery
That’s weird, I saw it too. But it ceased operations in 2001.
I know this.
Alief Abdurrahman Indisnt know they had a 757 TWA livery. We get the 737 TWA from time to time.
WTH
@@eduardp8262 what is that mean
The "grand finale" is simply awesome!
Fantastic.
Le concorde magnifique
The DC-10 really brings me back
MD11s hopping down the runway
Damn, I feel old now, I was born on the last days of the Concorde, the MD-11 was everywhere, Delta used their old livery, Iberia still has their 747s, TWA was still a thing, so as Northwest and a bunch of other airlines and AeroMexico still used their MD-80s.
Live seeing the old livery
that concord takeoff is amazing!
Concorde looks soooo AMAZING😍
Starting with my VASP.... tears coming.... :'(
sameee 💔
Absolutely adore the noise the 737-200 makes.
