    My favorite tech is the liquid gel in the calibrated bottle - great idea!

    They swapped to Elite bottles - finally.... the old ones were rubbish. This new Gel / Bottle combo looks great

    The PFH Flow Gel is so simple but genuis. Will save me from having to mix PF90 gels and water.

      Amazing, but ridiculous set the same time - I mean - Disc brake fairings - have you seen the size of the lump that rides these bikes ?! ….

    #gtncoachescorner is it more important to think about carbs or calories per hour when fueling for long distance racing? Is it really optimal to rely solely on carbs for caloric intake via gels, chews, etc. and have no protein or fat?

      I can’t do gels - there is always a risk my body will reject, and not with the risk - and there are definitely other ways - see so many people relying on gels for ’ normal’ rides - makes me feel sick thinking about it

    Would be interesting to know what’s going on with Jans new suit, as it doesn’t have the aero garments on the shoulders and torso anymore but rather smooth garment. They surely wouldn’t make that suit slower, right? So maybe a new era of aero tech?

    Is that right? I can’t get my head around that 9% saving at 40kph. That’s huge for a product which is on the marginal gains side of upgrades… would love some testing to prove such data
    I’d rather not trust compressport in that data

      Pretty unbelievable, I agree. It is quite possible that such calf sleeves are a bit faster. But there I would rather see the range around 4-5 watts, at 45 or 50 khp maybe even a little more. 9% is completely impossible, even at let's say an aerodynamic 200 watts at 40 khp, that would be a staggering 18 watts. That sounds way too much. Massively too much, I agree. Of course, it may be that the comparison was made to completely unshaven calves that belonged to Chewbacca. Even then, 18 watts is still very implausible. Percentages in this context are simply the wrong calculation. Maybe the manufacturer meant 9 watts. A lot, but still not 18W++.

      @@felixblock1542 adding to what you just said (agree with u completely) I wouldn’t trust any aero data provided by compressport (no offense). Even fusion with its fast as hell tri suit have much lower claims

      @@felixblock1542 you may be right, website says 7-8W which seems far more reasonable (and likely still at very high speeds for highly trained athletes)

      @@felixblock1542 Yes according to the compressport website: "When put to the test, the R2 Aero sleeve showed a proven gain in power of between seven and eight watts when compared to cycling without sleeves." no information at what speed/conditions this was tested though.

      @@felixblock1542 I agree with you that I think its more likely to be 9watts rather than 9%. KB's Surpass Insane calf sleeves claim 4-6watts and Swiss side claim up to 8watts for similar sleeves.

    2:50 - why can’t you wear the aero sleeve in the water for a non wetsuit swim? Surely it wouldn’t increase drag, given its compression and aero properties? Is it illegal?

      Correct, it’s illegal to wear anything below the knees or elbows in a non wetsuit swim

    The lengths triathletes go to with these ‘aero’ Bike is ridiculous - have you seen the size of what sits on these bikes?! … it’s the diet equivalent of buying a carrot for healthy eating, and then covering it in icing ….. showcase for the pros maybe, but don’t get so excited that a disc brake fairing is going to win you the next Worlds 😂
