My Trimtex Drive Series TriSuit... I really love that thing and it's comfortable to swim in. Don't want to add yet another thing to worry about, I do have a wetsuit for when it's allowed and makes sense (skipped on it for a sprint with a 500m swim because that event was 0.1°C wet suit legal and I decided it just ain't worth the changing time xD)
I did the Nice swim with my swim skin; it really was too warm for a wetsuit. Over the 3.8km, I was (approx) 5 minutes slower than with full wetsuit, but definitely 2/3 minutes faster than trisuit alone. The most important thing was that I was mentally better equipped wearing the swim skin. 😎
I mostly agree. The caveat is that the pros will have a good chunk of their gear provided for them as they are "brand ambassadors." Their job is to make it seem like the gear makes the difference.
Well Done GTN. I qualify for Kona , but I decided not to buy one swimskin . I will use my daughters swim suit for competition swim and have it over my Tri suit. For sure it’s one “leader back”and open in the back but it slim the body . I tried to do as Mark said but it’s difficult to take on the Tri suit wet . In the past I used one Skinfit Plasma sprint suit when it was no wetsuits also good. Marie-Louise
3:20 - with the advent of the ‘Aquabike’ race - up to world championship level, another question is how would a swim skin go in such an race - assuming that the water temperature was such that the swim was wetsuit prohibited. This is a real consideration for me as I start to prepare for the Aquabike long course world championship (a 3km swim, 120km bike event) in Townsville Australia next august.
Every race I've done so far has been wetsuits legal, but Barcelona Ironman was close. Be interesting to see the difference achieved by less elite swimmers. e.g. for myself with a 1hr 30min swim, the wetsuit gives a bigger advantage than it does for the elite swimmers.
lol at doing N=1 "test" with one person over 200m and then extrapolate to 3.8k. The rest of the video is fine, but the "test" is completely useless, result could be anything.
What do you wear for your triathlon swim? 🏊♂

Definitely not worth the money for an amateur.
Thank you GTN!! Great job!! Nice question uncovered!!

Just a tri suit, unless you’re a pro and got earnings riding on your performance, it’s a waste of money.

Could be true of most tri equipment

LOL "around the GTN super yacht" 🤣
You also have to take it off so it's even less then a minute difference probably.
We should consider the time to remove it during T1 (for a full ironman would be good, but for a short or olympic distance maybe is not worthy)
Better without anything, you should try

I wish I had a swim suit on on the bike leg in Lahti. It was freezing!

first middle distance in a couple of weeks. tri-suit will do.
Very nice
I love your costume 😍
Lucy Charles already published an interesting video to see the differences even with Neopren.

Yeah, pretty pointless. Lazy vid.
Do I hear a cat meow at 1:48 seconds?
I honestly feel bad for Mark, being banned from swimming in this video is tragic
