      I just stick to my Tri suit 😃. Mainly because I’m out of money after buying everything else 😛.

      I would spend the 300 dollars on a swim coach, would probably help me more than a swim skin ;)

    I think your summary was clear 👌 for the majority of age group athletes, arguably not a significant advantage ( we concentrate on our technique & learn to be efficient) for our swim gains. A yes for the very best athletes on the start line.

    All I really want is to be able to train in a pool that clean 🤣🤣

    In a race you have to run a fair way not just touch the wall. Getting the suit off to the waist on the run means there is no time lost except the last step of getting the suit off the legs, which with practice is only a few seconds. Even on a sprint I save time. Don't forget to vaseline the neck and shoulders in longer swims they can irritate. Thanks for another great video.

    Hi guys/gals, really enjoy all the advice you are providing in these videos but what should I really be thinking about wearing for my first Triathlon which I admit is only a Super Sprint, and what should I aim to get as an introductory cycle.

    I used a swimming tech suit in a larger size than I would wear for swim competitions (32 vs 26). I used one of the cheap $80 ones with a sports bra and stuffed the top of my kit around my waist. As you described I swapped while jogging to T1. Worked great and I highly recommend it. Since I had the suit already I spent nothing more so even better!!

    Swimskin is a gimmick for me. On my level of swimming appropriate comparison would be: Tri suit Vs. Pontoon. 😜

    @gtncoachescorner Hey guys, thank you for all the tips. I am confused and know what to do 😅. I am swimming 3 times a week for about a year now. I can swim longer then before and faster too in the 100s up to 500d, but I’m stocked in the same speed after that. Anything above 500 I can’t break 2min per 100. The place where I swim teaches just a little bit of technique, there’s no one on one coaching and the next closet place is 50 minutes away. How can I get faster when I’m already doing most of the thing they teach?

    Does your trisuit stay dry under a swimskin?

    I’d like to see a comparison between a swim skin and a trisuit that is treated to be more hydrodynamic. What do you think about those?

    I'm surprised you only improved your time by 2-3s over 200m, my swimskins are more like 3-4s per 100m and my open water suit is even quicker. But the suits are super tight. My open water suit, takes 15mins to put on. I wonder if you had suits that were too big?

  • @jonathanzappala
    @jonathanzappala Год назад

    My question is why do they cost as much as a wetsuit? Sounds like it would be a pass for me, but the only wetsuit illegal race I have done, swim skins were also banned unless you wore it for the whole race and it was in your national federation colors.

    Definitely not fast enough for a sprint triathlon . Whatever you gain in the water is lost taking it off .

    So, in summary:
    Tri suit: fast, most affordable, no transition really required
    Swimskin: faster, T1 required but easy enough, costs money
    Wetsuit: fastest, longest T1 but usually worth it since it cuts your swim time, costs money, makes you look like a superhero
