I really wish they would use Green Brinstar more often in the rest of the series. It's an awesome track.
I petition that you write the music for the future possible Metroid movie.
I've been following you for nearly a decade, Pontus, though I fell off for a while. Came back to happily see that you put your magic on one of my favorite tracks ever. Your early stuff is very inspired and well put together, but this kicks an inordinate amount of ass. Soundspace is thick and nicely filled, your levels are spot on, and the small flourishes really add to it. It's amazing how far you've come! Keep slaying it!

Always loved the music of Super Metroid. Having it remade in a worthy and epic way is a real treat. Hope to hear lower Norfair/Ridleys stage soon, its my favorite Metroid track! 😊 and among my favorite themes all in all.

This needs more likes. One of the best songs ever given its due in orchestral format!
Wow! this was the first theme of Super Metroid that really grabbed my attention.
The opening, boss and crateria themes were a nice contrast, but the music was more there to bolster the atmosphere, than straight off add to it.
This though was the track that really made Zebes feel like a huge alien planet, with so many different biomes and environments to explore, even beyond what we see in the game!
I especially love the additions here, like the twinkling synths at the top or the bells, just delivers that extra touch of epicness not possible with Snes hardware, without overpowering the original!

This track was perfectly placed for its spot in the game.
You've seen the old section of Brinstar from the first Metroid game, you've encountered the space pirates, acquired the bombs, you're starting to get in deeper into the planet.
The warmup is over, it's time for the real workout and this track hammers it home by getting you pumped up and ready to go.

While for me there was less nostalgia about old Brinstar, this was the point that everything just started to feel so huge.
The first Crateria caves where you begin are definitely an intro to the game, a comparatively small area to get you into the swing of things.
There was that mysterious statue chamber with the creepy music which obviously lead somewhere nasty,
Then, down the elevator and suddenly there's a hole new zone with a bright, living environment, so many paths to choose often leading to just more paths, heck the huge pink chamber close to where you fight spawspawn has about five different items to collect at different points in the game.
That's why this track always feels like going deeper and deeper into an alien world, with ever more world to see.
This is a great epic work, always happy to listen new things from you

The only flaw with this album is that is has to be so short! From Ridley to Mother Brain, Kraid’s Lair to Surface of Crateria, there’s no shortage of amazing tracks for you to cover, and I lament not getting to hear your take on them! This is wonderful!
I know man - If Nintendo would release all the ost's there would be more available licenses, which is the requirement to legally distribute cover music. I wanted to do much more with this, but happy with the included tracks at least. Next album will be more fleshed out 🙂

Always surprises me how little love this song gets next to Brinstar Red when it is easily as good as that track.

That was the original idea, but then I bitterly realised that there were only a handful of available licenses for it (due to Nintendo not releasing the official ost)
