Looks simple enough. I don't have any wireless displays yet but would love to get rid of the wires.
For How many people doesn't work?
This didn't work for me. I tried updating all kind of drivers like wireless pro set, uninstalled and installed different versions of intel widi pro multiple time and graphic drivers but. Nothing is working.
I'm keep receiving following error message "That Didn't work. Try again and make sure your television is still discoverable".
Can someone please help me to resolve this problem?
Similar to marioKID99, I also don't have the add display option. I'm working on an older Sony Vaio laptop (2011 or so). When I was on Windows 7, I was able to use WiDi with the Netgear PTV1000. I've upgraded to Windows 8.1, but can't seem to get the WiDi software to work. I keep getting an error saying that my display isn't compatible. I've recently purchased the Netgear PTV3000 as well; but my laptop won't work with either PTV1000 or PTV3000. I believe the main issue is the software; but not sure why I can't get it to work or install properly. Any feedback or suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

Jott Uh That probably means that your pc doesn't have widi technology installed.
No i haven't setup my Intel Widi receiver, i came here to find out if its possible to use a monitor with a receiving adapter for my widi laptop.
I try to do this with my asus ux32vd and my LG7200 But in devies says the tv is not certificated for windows.
What Can I do?

Thank you very much for these instructions. However, I got the following problem: Compatibility tool version 1.0.4.10 reported that "processor. graphics card and wireless card are capable of running Intel WiDi technology". However, I am not able to install the Intel WiDi software. It complains about the Wifi card not being compatible with Intel WiDi. The computer is a laptop with Intel Core i5-4210U and Broadcom BCM43142 wireless lan adapter. The operating system is Windows 8.1. What am I supposed to do? Sometimes, WiDi works without problems but most of the time, I am unable to connect to the smart TV (LG65LA9709-ZA).
Type in dxdiag to see if your gpu is Miracast comparable mine says it is Radeon r3 . Can I add a intel card to it to make Miracast work?

It solves simply forcing windows to install the previous version. It will works although not always so, if it fails you reinstall it again thats it. Dont update.

How forcing windows to install the previous version ?
I did it long time ago and I stop using this. But as far i remember you need to download the previous version (go to 4shared, lookup in google), unistal the uptate or lasted version intalled, and install the oldest one you downloaded and try.

We can only buy an adapter Widi as between Intel and Samsung no agreement about this.
Is this Widi option available on Windows 7 Home Premium? If not, Can I install it?

It doesnt work, always I try to pair with my widi enabled 55lm7600 and it sasy that couldnt conect, I searched all around the internet and forums with no solution.
